@@InternetInferno Yo this really went viral good job dude
Another important thing to note: FNAF world's over world originally looked like an Atari game before Scott went back to the originally advertised art direction. Maybe he originally went with the Atari look to solidify the connection further
In the original FNAF World trailer we can even see movement in the "updated" graphics.
If this is all true, the game shipped with the low-res graphics on purpose and not due to rushing.
He couldn't just tell us "it's all part of the puzzle" though, rather he took it down and updated it without much grievance.
Unbelievable...
What if a byte is inside the box, also, the box and the line "some things are best left forgotten" is meaning he wants fnaf world to be forgotten
@@The_Guatermelon FNAF world came out well after FNAF 4 and the box so... I doubt it
Some of these call outs are interesting. It's just hard to tell at this point when someone might have actually figured something out or is just reading too much into some details.

I always felt that fnaf world was completely cannon. In Dawkos interview with Scott, he mentions that the real ending to FNAF three is complicated. I completely believe that FNAF world actually happened and that it could be a mini electronic universe or code made by Henry or someone else designed it and it's purpose was to free the spirits like in the good ending. since the clock minigames correlate with FNAF 3s minigames. The good ending definitely happens, but in a more literal way than expected.

Out of all the theories i'd say this is my favorite! But knowing Scott he'll find a way to make this incorrect lol.
Scott a menace for that 🤧
@@InternetInferno but actually this theory is likely incorrect and the game might not have to have a lore at all... is just an allegory to the video game scene of that time and how scott felt about the whole situation, fnaf is basically vent art and maybe nobody liking his games before made he say ingame that a new video game collapse is here just like before since he didnt got accepted and the market is only for the giants not the small, which connects with the fnaf fangames support he opened... just to support small devs and stimulate something new and more creative and less mainstream.

I've always wondered if the FNAF games were secretly becoming deeply Meta in nature, with some aspects symbolic of real life events.
And I think this is the closest to that being a possibility.
Forget Dream Theory. This is Memory Theory. Fantastic video!
I feel like the FNAF series is at a turning point where fans are figuring out it has multiple layers, like the game Inscryption.
Layer 1 is that FNAF is simple a fun horror series with no real analysis.
Layer 2 is a convoluted series of events across a decades long period of time.
Layer 3 is a heavily meta story, with clever symbolism.
I feel like most fans are in the Layer 2 category, with the fanbase on the cusp of entering Layer 3.
Whether it be the whole series is a Dream, or about a Robot piecing together his memories of a former life, I feel we're very close.
My random theory is that the same machine that made the coding for the Animatronics and the Atari Games is what they call in the books... the Mimic. It's an AI that's accidentally developed sentience when both the Animatronics and Atari Games were being made, and copies the behavioural patterns of the people it's surrounding by. The events of FNAF 4 were essentially its trigger point, and when the "Rogue Video Game Developer" tried to make a game about it, likely using the same software, it attacked him and drove him insane. Into Madness.
It's not Afton trying to put his family back together, but this AI.
What's hilarious is that, in a meta way, Scott Cawthorn is a literal mimic (and I think he knows this), creating his own brand built upon Video games and Animatronics alike, trying to piece together a broken story that fell apart when he realised that he had to change the direction of series after FNAF 4 when he realised his fans wouldn't appreciate Dream Theory.
I mean wow, this theory is great, explains a lot about the box, why all the memories are depicted in memories, and how these 8bit minigames that are bite victim's fractured memories including fnaf world could all physically be in a box, as they are actual 8bit games. And is wayyyyy more satisfying then thinking that the box is just "metaphorical".
As good and genius, and how many connections it makes, this theory does have a few problems:
1) Personally I wouldnt count the quality of the minigames going on as any piece of evidence because the quality varies from fnaf 2 minigames, fnaf 3 follow me, minigames leading up to happiest day, mike walking home, 83, fruity maze and mm car driving minigame, and security puppet and midnight motorist.
2) are the memories or 8 bit minigames possibly in the box? probably yeah. but they don't have to be given to mike in the form of his atari in particular. After jeremy dies in in fnaf 2, the player might be sent to a death minigame, which is probably not played on mike's atari because the box is locked until the events of fnaf world where its open in the game files, meaning whoever, ifever, experienced the fnaf 2 death minigames probably didn't need mike's atari to access the events/memories in 8 bit. Henry might be the person to see the games as he includes take cake and give gifts give life in his slide show at his final speech, but there's no way he could've gotten those memories from mike's atari. now of course, your theory only states that bv's memories are in the box, so only the minigames of fnaf 3 leading up to happiest day, fnaf world, and maybe even fnaf 4 are in the box as the form of an atari, however like the other minigames not included, bv's minigame memories might be stored and broadcasted in a similar fashion to the other minigames without the use of mike's atari in particular, just like mike in fnaf 6, henry, and maybe even jeremy expereineced them. (its also just weird only having a few of the atari 8bit minigames in the box and not all of them because that implies the existence of multiple haunted ataris but nvm multiple ataris isnt really a counter point.)
3) in the faz frights books jake tries to unlock the happiest memories of induvials to set them free by just going inside of their memories, maybe mike did the same, its really fuzzy or not whether or not mike actually needs an atari or if the minigames are like in his head or something, where he just dives into spirit's memories. some of bv's memories can still technically influence stuff outside of the box as well, if they're in there. bv remembers toy toy chica missing her beak and in fnaf 2 she's missing her beak, despite the memory maybe being in the box. probably same could apply with all the minigame stuff we see, just bv's memories influencing stuff outside of the box
4) It would seem very very strange for mike to lock up an atari in the box. the atari supposedly contains all the minigames and stuff leading up to happiest day, however mike doesn't play or know about those minigames until fnaf 3/the box wasn't reopened until fnaf world, so how could he know that within the atari he locked up, would hold all the pieces put back together? was this like bv's favorite console, why would he refer to the atari as all the pieces back together at the time he locked it? the only way would be if he sensed some presence coming from the atari, the atari was just so near and dear to bv it was never shown in game, or mike played a bit and witnessed a few minigames on the atari that were previously seen like the fnaf 4 minigames or something (which i dont think he did before locking it, since its more likely that after each night would be the time the minigame is being played like follow me being played after ever shift mike has, follow me might be connected as one of bv's box memories because it gives clues for happiest day, going on a tangent nvm).
5) this is the only thing holding me back from accepting this theory and: it draws from real life events instead of in game cannon. i would be SUPER DUPER even more convinced than i am now if there was an actual atari ever showcased existing in mike's ownership in game, but this kinda comes out of left field from real world events. I was thinking, maybe something seen in game would be in the box like memorabilia, or bv's body i dunno.
That is true. I feel like with a lot of theories in this franchise it’s more about finding as many connecting pieces, without always getting a clear sign. If Mike was shown actually having an Atari in the minigames or something, I feel like way more ppl would’ve looked into it. I j like the idea of the box having something physical that represents all the pieces in a logical way
Ngl this is the first time I've ever been convinced about the inside of the box
Pleasure doing business 🤝
This theory is really good, sadly the contents of the box have probably changed since, but this theory is my favorite one from before sister location started changing things.
This isn't groundbreaking since I know a lot of people already believe it, including myself, but honestly you put the video together very well. The background music, the pacing and the visual elements were great. I think you and I are the only people that have made a video about the contents of the box being revealed in world.

Just a little thing I’ve noticed is that when comparing the Happiest Day minigame to the FNAF 4 minigames’ FFD layout, a lot of people mirror FFD. When they’re not mirrored however, the position of the tables match up, the exit door in HD would be where Fredbear is, and the MCI’s table would be closest to the exit, like they’re leaving the restaurant. They’re free from the metallic bodies they once possessed.
Ahh ok, that’s a good way of looking at it. I hadn’t realized it was flipped like that but that would make sense
I forgot about the 2 keys and the implications that it has. I feel like a lot of people forget about that detail and it’s implications. Great video
Keep this up and maybe MatPat will invite you to the next Theory Talk
not to mention the undertone lore of the game developer who was hired to create games to make light of the mci . this really brings it all together
this is a very nice theory. I'm not sure I believe it, but it definitely has some good evidence.
honestly, I used to know the fnaf lore by heart, but I have lost my mind trying to figure things out and everything is too confusing for me at this point. don't even get me started on SB LOL
Way ahead of u, my other theory video was me diving head first into the security breach mess :D
The lore used to be "kids got murdered"
Now there's actual AI and remnant. And also Will Afton can't die
@Generic Name yeah fr it was supposed to end at fnaf 4 and fnaf world to solidify the ending but nah he had to go more In depth 😭
Great theory, it's very interesting to see new theories that throws us back to revisit what we think of the lore and makes us review things this big, keep up the work man
A completely new theory?! Oh praise be the lord!!!. No, but seriusly, its a very interesting angle that no one has notice yet. Very good video, keep it up
The theory was made shortly after fnaf world released, and got more popular after the scott interview. It's honestly a very good theory.
Very interesting, never knew about Atari stuff. Altough, GregBot seems as unlikely as ever, but I think we can just replace it to be a nod or a "parallel" to the Crying Child, so it doesn't really matter that much, lol.
And didn't TUG hint at Fnaf World being a game, or something like that?
So your telling me that in THE box there is an atari with minigames that are all supposed to be a representation of the crying child blurred memories, with the actual consol representing his death because of it's crash in 1983
Wow...
I continue to theorize that what is found in the box are the pieces to create a perfect body for the Crying Child, better known as Gregory, this would explain why William Afton would seek a desperate way to bring him to life with so many experiments with children, although on his deathbed he spoke to him telling him that he would repair it, and would also explain things like why Gregory lives in the Mega Pizza Plex for no reason, that he destroys the animatronics without repudiation for the bite, that Vanny causes him interference, that he gets along with Glamrock Freddy on the theory that this is Mike Afton his older brother, who threw Cassie out of the elevator, as the Mimic intends to use Gregory to bring David (his best friend, and Edwin's deceased son), as William did with his son, having learned it from him.
Everything after fnaf 6 is a new era and the afton family is dead
Ive had a similar idea thinking the box was the crying childs memory put together but wondered how Scott would have physically represented this as an item in the box. You did it! We've gotten the box solved!
4:24 OH SH*T THATS TRUE..... The whole time, William was trying to help crying child remember who he is, because he says "the dead do forget". And the fact that you said "some things are best left forgotten" are talking about crying child's memories, DAMN. It makes so much sense. William couldn't put him back together, he couldn't help him remember.
Also where did you find "Michael Gray"? I just get Peaky Blinders when I search it up
Mom why did you lock my video games
We know that in the original security breach storyline, through removed voice lines, that Vanessa was looking for something, and acquired that something. Quote: "I have the second second key...."
Was Vanessa trying to open The Box?
I always figured it was Afton’s porno cache.

With this and hyper droids newest video… wow it feels like we’re just about at cracking the entirety of FNAF
This is canon to me now.
This makes sense considering how similar the box looks to the crying child (the locks being his tears) so the box literally represents his head, his memories.
Imagine Scott appearing somewhere in the comments and just saying: "Your theory is wrong, try harder"
In the screen that shows up after you go inside the pool in the old man consequences area (The man with wings/ The man holding two children) theres text off screen saying "Happiest day" maybe this helps
You blew my mind, which doesn't happen often, I must add... Never was a hard FNAF fan, but I definitely like this take a lot!
This is actually a fantastic theory. Admittedly it was a bit hard to follow at times but it is clear that you put a lot of time and thought into this and I honestly feel like you are on to something. Great video
Dude I really like this theory. Normally I'm very skeptical and criticsl of theories but by the end you had me convinced. Ima throw a hypothosis in the ring too tho, what if the two locks were for William and his wife to open when the time was right to get their son back? That or Michael and his mom, idk theres 3 options atm 😂
To start things off, William lost his daughter in some tragic way and wanted her back. William witnessed the puppet/Charlotte's resurrection and discovered how agony could possibly "transfer" a consciousness into an object. From the Sister Location bunker, William was using Psychic Friend Fredbear and the illusion disks to torture Crying Child to discover the secrets of agony. William forced Michael to also torment Crying Child at the pizzeria to help research and study agony, but the bullying went too far.
Maybe William Afton or maybe Michael tried saving Crying Child's memory digitally onto an Atari after the bite of 83. Somehow, Michael is able to still communicate with his brother and tell Crying Child he will put him back together again (either at the hospital or through the log book if he's near Golden Freddy). The MCI (and maybe Mrs. Afton) could have been the sacrifices necessary for the transfer of the memory onto the game system. Remember Candy Cadet's stories? The pieces of the 4 MCI children's brains were kept in the box, along with Crying Child's recovered piece from Golden Freddy. Each of the MCI pieces manifest in Crying Child's nightmares as he is in a medically induced coma from the brain surgeries (no one ever said he died immediately following the bite) for YEARS! Meanwhile, Michael and William Afton work together to also save Crying Child and Elizabeth through any means necessary while avoiding Henry and the police. Balloon Boy was supposed to be the vessel for Crying Child, which is why he doesn't harm the night guard (just laughs and plays pranks like shutting off the flashlight-like the flashlight used in FNAF4). Elizabeth was eventually successfully transferred to Baby after being inside either JJ or maybe Mangle (an imperfect transfer indicated by the garbled radio noises). Mrs. Afton could have also been a sacrifice(?) for agony/remnant but then transferred to Ballora (empty tomb song references Elizabeth and Crying Child dying). The other animatronics that knew Michael helped William kicked Baby out of Ennard because she spared Michael from death ("You won't die...")
Did I leave anything out?
I say JJ is probably the first attempt at resurrecting Elizabeth because she hides under the desk. This is just like how Michael has to hide under the desk in Sister Location. Maybe William killed JJ for breaking her Mangle toy?
Makes a lot of sense. People thought it was a huge shift in the franchise when Afton's consciousness was saved to a computer... But that concept has existed ever since fnaf 4. The Atari games are the crying child's memories. That makes so much sense dude
Nice theory man.
I’ve been saying it for years. The box will be in the movie. The movie was announced around the same time as FNAF 4. It was supposed to be released years ago but had to be delayed multiple times. So at some point Scott said some things are better left forgotten for now. It’s going to be in the movie.
The box isn't in the movie
Time to cross our fingers for Scott to finally let the cat out of the bag and declare this one the box in FNAF 4 opened
And now many years later Scott gave us the answer
*He Forgor*
Scott is actually a genius with all of the secrets
Im inside the box!

In the screen that shows up after you go inside the pool in the old man consequences area (The man with wings/ The man holding two children) theres text off screen saying "Happiest day"
Clearly the box is filled with mashed potatoes but thats just my take
To add onto it: We know the S.B staff made fan games of fnaf (as stated in the intro to help wanted) and these games were used to recreate glitch trap
What if games were also used to refresh crying child's memories?
First video I watched on your channel, so far I love it. Keep up the good work.
It's a really cool theory, but there is one other theory that I believe to be potentially true as well (along this one).
So, as Derpy Horse mentioned a few years ago, there's the answer Scott gave us regarding the box: „The contents of The Box have changed over the years”, and Derpy said it could be possible that by „over the years”, Scott meant in the game, and based on this + many other arguments (I don't know them anymore, but I think they are all still on Reddit? I think...), he said that it's possible that Henry's plan to stop William is inside the Box.
Scott is a GENIUS
The Atari and Chuck E Cheese connection portrayed (kinda) in FNaF makes you wonder if it was the same in FNaF like you know how FNaF 1,2,3 are actual games in the canon well in just gonna leave this to your imagination
mattpat MUST see this, this could solve fnaf
This guy may rival MatPat...
Damn, I hope this blows up
Thanks :)
Ever since FNAF 6 came out I lost interest in Fnaf, also because of the books and all the stuff happening, so I, who once was fascinated by FNAF lore as a kid and seeked every bit of information everywhere, and now barely knows anything about modern FNAF lore and forgot a lot about the original FNAF lore... I am feeling that same feeling again, that tingling feeling in my chest as I watch a video talking about the biggest mystery in FNAF and giving pretty good evidence from not only the old games, but also the new ones and the books is the same my younger self used to feel hearing people talk about the possibility that there were two purple guys, and that the phone guy was the purple guy, and everything from that time...
holy shit this brought me back, I teared up a bit... I missed feeling like this about FNAF
in particular for the keys, i think it would be interesting if the marionette and golden freddy later held a “spiritual” set of keys than michael and william, as they are victims who later on seek resolve and closure. bv could give them a clue as to why their souls are trapped in the suits, therefore needing “keys” to discover what they’re missing in understanding their existence.
meanwhile, since michael was the cause of his death and william lost sanity trying to “put him back together”, they have keys to his memory that are more gruesome or cause distortion.
overall, i love the atari connection to the creation of the first chuck e cheese, it would be such a great link. this physical form for the contents of the box would also serve as a good medium transition to the theme of technological advancements (sophisticated AI, glitches/hacks, flaws in security/data) in the recent game. the atari being an early form of console is a retrospective and tasteful way to evolve the plot to this point.
this is a harmonious theory, love how seamless the line of thought is in this video :) the minigames were always my favorite part of the games’ atmosphere.
I’m so excited for the day that “need more proof?” Becomes as big as “It’s just a theory”
It is to me
Well, if we think the Mimic and Storyteller are a thing, The Mimic could be using the Games of Fnaf 1,2,3,4 and the minigames to generate characters in the presently existing people. "Game" people made Real. Making a new "son for Afton." Which means the Box is literally Black Box of a Game machine.
5:33 ...WAIT-
one thing though. how does this connect to the fnaf 4 hints shown on matpat’s stream
If Game Theory was actually good:
Wait a minute...
So, you're saying this Atari 2600 contained the memories of Crying Child? And all Afton needs is *THAT* chip to put C.C back together???

"There is something in the box, but I never pursued it, and I don't know if I can find it again." - Scott Cawthon
Holy shit. Calling it here - you're right on all counts. I can't believe none of the other larger theorist channels have ever addressed this.
Sadly we dont know we may never know.
Fnaf is a staple. Things like this bring the community alive. Nice video man
WE NEED SCOTT TO LOOK AT THIS AND CONFIRM OR DENY IT
honestly I feel like this fit better with dream theory than anything else, and since that may have been Scotts original intention but changed it after the backlash from it (allegedly) I think you may have found one of the older ideas for what's in the box, it's a good theory but when you take into account how Scott has changed both the box and the overall story several times, it's hard to know what's still cannon and what's not with the original quadrilogy. honestly it might be a little bit funny if you had figured out some of the old story instead.
That would explain why the book trilogy is so focused on memory. And how Charlie's meant to be a parallel to the crying child.
4:52 ngl you didn't have me until pointing out the brain thing. forgotten literally? holy shit.
You...contextualized something that I've NEVER thought of. Holy fuck.
Well if this happens to be right i see why Scott thought the fans wouldn't like the answer. An old game console a good amount of his fan base is too young to remember definitely will disappoint some.
my theory is still that nothing is in the box
I’m pretty sure Gregory being a robot version of the crying child has already been debunked, the glitching effect for when Vanny is close to Gregory is likely just for special effects.
I always saw the box as a metaphor, a visible representation of keeping the solution locked away to preserve the mystery
An issue I see with the Michael thing is that it’s implied that Michael is the one that has bad memories of his own birthday parties. Plus, the one that talks about Atari (Michael) is the one that is repressing them.
And, for how obsessed William is about the CC, he only shown to mutter Michael’s name like a mad man and is implied to love Michael, in despite of him being his bastard son. Note that the male within GF is actually old enough to have ex-girlfriends, so he can’t be the be CC.
I think that inside the box is paragraph 4 from ffps on the bad ending Henry says “you did not follow your obligations in chapter 4” which was to burn the place down
Oh THAT'S GOOD! The section where you were going into the pieces being literally, physical in place for the Crying Child- I haven't gasped that hard at a Fnaf theory in YEARS. While I'm someone who doesn't really like/agree with Gregbot, your theory about the box itself is so strong!
Scott also said that fnaf world isnt canon so.
This is big. This could send the community insane.
Matpat said it was just tools but this looks WAY MORE INTERESTING AND COOLER
Other than the Atari connection which is admittedly very cool, this doesn’t really change anything about the currently accepted theories regarding the box or the crying child or what “I will put you back together” means. It’s some interesting connections to be sure, but ultimately irrelevant to the actual interpretation of the story so far.
I really didn't expect my mind to be blown in 6 and a half minutes
Holy crap, this guy woke up cooking
we need scott to look at this and tell us if this is it
i always figured the box is the makeshift coffin William used for CC, would make sense to use 2 locks if Michael keeps running off to the grave
This. Is. Amazing. Just.... wow!!!! You have done an outstanding job with this theory, not only have you covered some very obscure observations, but have all so delved in to real history to solve this mystery. Well done and keep it up my friend!!!!
It’s the dead child of Cassidy (Golden Freddy. AKA: A god (in my own way) in the FNAF universe)
Wow, I never even thought of that possibility and yet all the pieces are there, just goes to shos that you can't ignore FNAF world
LOL I love the "need more proof?"
"You are broken. I will put you back together." "What's in the box? It's the pieces put together." And in the novels, charlie was locked in a box. The crying child is in the box.
My personal theory has always been that what's in the box is the final security bracelet from fredbears that was worn by the very first victim, given that the box also has two locks, one for each founding business partner
I did not expect this; you did really well! I hope this gets more views, you deserve it
yes, i love your theory BUT
if we consider the content of the box contains things in the scott era (yes i'm going to call fnaf 1 - ucn that), then scrap fnaf hw, ar and sb, as scott probably didn't gave steel wool nor illumix the freedom to change literally the content of it
if it's a little confusing, basically, scott himself (as i remember at least) said that the content of the box did change throughout the games, but probably in fnaf 6 or ucn it stopped to change and it was full by the end of scott's era, so probably the things happening during the steel wool era don't relate to the box at all, at least that's what i think
Valid. My thought process was maybe it was a throwback Easter egg clue type of thing, because no one had solved it yet. I thought it was weird it was taken down too
@@InternetInferno yeah, maybe that was actually their plan but got taken down because it was exposed too much, also I didn't understand the "memory of crying child" thing, what does it have to do with the story?
