Same here I got bullied really bad all the way threw high school it fucked me up bad . I was brought up by my dad so I did not know how to style my hair right and had to teach myself how to use makeup. There was one guy who had a crush on me but I never got with him because he was more popular then me and I worried if we broke up my bullying would get worst. I have had one side friends where it's been me putting in all the effort and they don't give a shit. I have now stop trying to make friends because I always get let down and they are not real friends.

I was bullied too. When I was in middle school, it was hard time for me. Kids on the bus would blow “spit balls” in my hair, and one day someone put gum in my hair. They snuck up behind me and did it and I unknowingly walked around school all day like that, and nobody told me, including my best friend at the time.
I was a shy kid, and on top of that, my parents were going through their divorce. I ended up staying back because my grades suffered. I remember coming home and hyperventilating crying, and told my older sister what was going on. She took my bus and they never bothered me again.
As I write this, all these years later, tears are streaming down my face. I guess some inner child work is needed!🙃

No one really makes it out of high school "without problems". Everyone's situation is different but there's always moments where kids cross paths with people who treat them unfairly or disrespectful for no reason.
Fist fights in schools don't occur among teens becuase everyone likes them.

I am so thankful that I never experienced this in school. I definitely witnessed it though. I will never forget in elementary school people teasing one girl because her mother was dead. They would say to her “our moms are taking us for ice cream is your mom? No she’s dead.” Still makes me sick. I think that really shaped the person I became. No one deserves that kind of treatment.

I had most of my bullying done in elementary school because I was shy, wore thick glasses and read a lot (why is reading bad?!) and I literally moved schools it got so bad. I think it definitely shaped how I make friends to this day. I'm very hesitant and don't open up to many people. But I'm a great friend once I do open up. I'd rather have 1 best friend who would lay down their life for you than 100 just "friends" who aren't even really your friends because why waste your time?

Bullies don't need a reason. As a kid, reading, studying, and getting good grades makes you a dork and nerd in their eyes🙄.
But then again, being a steriotypical pretty teen girl who wears make up, short dresses,
Makes them a "slut" in other people's eyes and they get picked on for that too.

I was never really bullied at all until I was 30! Had a horrible experience at a job where adult women, especially one did not like me for some reason and made my life miserable. It was that job that gave me the courage to quit that profession that wasn't for me, go on my own and become self employed. It's going amazing. Even for having only one "friend" in middle school. She told other kids I followed her around when she knew she was my only friend in that school. It was rough. Thank you for making this video. So many people tell me that school was so amazing and they made friends for life, it was such a peaceful time etc etc and for me it was just awful. Kids were just mean and ruthless, especially girls. They would bully you and turn on you just for the hell of it. And you can't escape that like you would in your adult life because it's school, it's practically your life then and teachers keep telling you to just "get along". I also think parents underestimate just how much of an impact it has on a kid, mine always told me to just "ignore it"... But I can't just ignore something if I go through it 7h a day 5 days a week. Years later a girl that would bully me got on the same bus as me and I literally got a stomach ache even though I'm a grown ass woman. Good news is you grow up, you can choose who you want in your life and people just mature and change. But I would be scared to send my kid to school...

I was bullied relentlessly in middle school but was also popular at the same time, so it was a very weird situation. Come high school I wasn't bullied anymore fortunately, I was still one of the "popular" kids and had many different friend groups, yet was still very lonely. It seemed like people only wanted to talk to me during school, but as soon any breaks came or things outside of school no one talked to me lol, therefore resulting in me turning to social media. This was like 6 years ago too when it wasn't as big as it is today, and having online friends was pretty uncommon. Glad I made it out though, I hated every second of it. I had an incident in high schoool where a girl asked a pretty family/personal question out loud in high school. I got pretty upset and I left the lunch room and got into the bathroom. I started to disassociate my self from her. I would not say hi to hi her at all when she would say hi to her. I started to become the "bad guy" and people disliked me for ignoring her. I feel like that happened because she is seen as a nice girl to everyone even though I can see right through her (I hate people like this). How could she ask a question like that out loud in public? I don't really know what to make of the situation. All I did was stop talking to her altogether even if people were hating that. I learned that you should be doing what's best for yourself no matter what people say.

I’m so sorry you went through this. Being bullied is not fun. I can relate because I was bullied from 3rd grade all the way up through high school. I started a new school in 5th grade and the girls in my class were extremely catty and so I experienced a lot of ostracism. I tried to be nice and to be friends with them but they would just basically dismiss me. 6th grade wasn’t too bad except for maybe some mild teasing from boys but 7th grade was the absolute worst year for me. I had this one girl pick on me throughout the whole school year. She used to spit on me, throw paint on me in art class, and would just basically try to set me up in order to get me into trouble. It was so bad that I used to go down to the nurse’s office every day pretending to be sick so I could try to get out of school to go home. I changed schools in the middle of 8th grade because the bullying got so bad. High school wasn’t much better. I just didn’t really connect with anybody and on top of that I was tortured by my aunt for 5 years all throughout high school and my first year of college. I have had issues with depression and self esteem because of all of this but I am working through these issues and getting better little by little. I know this is long but keep your head up and continue to be confident and happy. Stay safe and have a Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃💞

So, as a man who is now 27, my high school exp. was interesting to say the least. Or not, depending on how you look at it. Made friends who were more or less outcasts so to speak. That being said, I had deep down wanted to be popular so bad( I have matured a whole damn lot since then ). To the point where I did t appreciate the friends I did have. Come junior year, I made friends with some “ popular” kids yet I still wasn’t considered “ in “. Eventually come, senior year, I cut off all ties with everyone and had no friends for the rest of high school. It was a little miserable but I feel like it gave me a new beginning. I was never really bullied so to speak in high school. I think I had a don’t fuck with me exterior that people were afraid of and respected. I wish I had made better friends and more genuine friends at that time regardless of “ popularity”. Mind you , this was from 2007 to 2011 lol. A loooooong time ago. Now I can say I am one strong motherfucker and am comfortable with talking to strangers at a bar or where ever. Back then, not so much. Just writing this so that any youngins’ whether boy or girl knows that it does get better as long as you put in a little bit of effort. Much love, be well.

Who knows, maybe they have kids of their own now, and will help their own kids if they're being bullied. Sometimes, karma has a way of getting even with those that did/do bad to others. Hope that makes sense.

In forth grade, i used to be very spunky and had a unique personality and then my best friend made a new best friend and left me alone. As a forth grader it damaged my self confidence so much. I started to think i was a boring person and couldn't have relationships with people. I still have major trust issues at 19 and I can't let people in my life because I am afraid they will reject me or think I am boring. That one pedy incident ruined my life. I hadn't had a friend since and I sometimes have problems even talking with my family. Its gotten worst. I pray that in the future, I will find peace and love in mylife😇🥲

I’m sorry that you had to go through that ....there are really some abusive And narcissistic people in the world… And it truly says more about them and the environment that they were raised in than it does about you… 💖😉 … Anyway love your channel! I had a rough 4 years in high school, I lost 3 friends in my class the last 2 years of hs, and one of them being my very best friend. I learned that I had anxiety and depression and went on a medication that turned me into someone I wasn't, it destroyed me. High school was some of the hardest years of my life but looking back I know that if I didn't go through that stuff I wouldn't be who I am today. So if you are having a hard time during hs seriously know that it gets better, this won't last forever. You are not alone!

Renee I had a very similar experience in middle school. it scarred me for life lol. but i find that people see a light in people like us that they do not have in themselves and it makes them jealous/ scared of our potential so they try to knock us down. We chose love and not fear ❤️❤️❤️

  • @valeriemurdock4425

I'm sorry that you experienced that. It is an extremely painful thing to go through. But look at you now! :) I had something similar happen to me during my school years. It started in middle school due to a so-called friend, and she turned so many people against me. One morning after my Mom dropped me off at middle school (and after my Mom had driven away), a very large crowd of kids - my former "friend" included - approached me and they were all shouting "We hate you. . .We hate you. . .", and my former "friend" handed me a "petition" with over 100 signatures of fellow classmates who had signed it stating that they hated me. It just continued to grow from there, and it followed me to high school. It reached a point that was so bad and even dangerous that my parents had to go before the School Board and petition them to allow me to transfer to a different high school for my Junior and Senior years. Going to a different high school turned out to be the BEST thing ever. My last two years of high school were AWESOME. It was such an AMAZING feeling to be able to walk down the school hallways and go to class without fear or worry for my safety, and I made SO MANY friends at the new high school. That was the late 80s, and I rarely think of it. However, I will say that I am extremely sensitive to acceptance and approval of others, and looking back, I am sure that being bullied in school is the reason.

Hi Renee, thank you for sharing your story; your reflections and thoughts on this channel help me a lot. My childhood and schooling experience defines my mental health because of the alienation and emotional bullying I suffered. I started college this week, wanting it to be a brand new start. I have learned so much this year and now I feel like I can move on and be myself. In fact I was reunited with my best friend from five years ago (I thought about the possibility of it happening but it was super unlikely) and at first I was unsure how to approach her and what to say, since many things had happened since we separated and I credit her for genuinely saving my life. She doesn’t know how much she means to me, but in short she came along when my other friend had abadoned me for other people without a word. The one year I spent with her was better than the seven I’d spent with my “bully” and to see her again was unbelievable. It wasn’t like me to just grit my teeth and go up to her to say hi, as I got some social anxiety from my past, but I’m so glad I did. 10-year-old me would be so happy if she saw where I am today, and it goes to show that you can climb back up from rock bottom, and there are always better times ahead. It will get better, trust me. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing your story. I too was bullied. All 12 years of school, and never made it to college. Thinking it was over after high school, and it has continued as an adult. Ended up sharing my story over a reunion group page, and got some apologies from it. Just this summer. I’ve had anxiety and worried thoughts my entire life. I do see a therapist for it. I’m so grateful I found someone on RUclips I can relate to.

I had this really bad experience in high school (it was 7th or 8th grade). I had a few friends, but in one of my classes they just weren't with me, I basically knew nobody in that class. So some boys decided I was an easy victim for them and started bullying me. Before the class or on the hallways they called "I want a child from you" and other stuff and it was just so humiliating. The teacher of that class knew, but she did nothing. I told my mom, and all she did was to tell me to ignore it. Thanks mom, like I didn't figure that out myself.
This took a huge hit on my self-perception and it still affects me. Back then I was not very attractive, but until they started bullying me, I didn't really care or notice that. Thankfully, puberty did it's thing for me and I love the way I look today. But in all honesty, this whole thing still affects how I look at myself and others.
Today, I know that looks are not everything and that there is so much more to me than what I look like (heck, I'm a freaking physicist!). But back then I had no idea who I was and what my strengths were. The fact that I was bullied for my looks was all that defined me.

I'm so sorry to hear that you were bullied like that. I really hope that the got their comeuppance in the end.
Looking back, I was lucky at school through having an older sister to look after me. I remember a boy who kept on sneaking up behind all the girls who had pony tails and pulling their hair. He never seemed to back down no matter what we did. I told my older sister about him and the first thing she said to me was "you should knee him in the balls, that will stop him". I'd never thought of that. In fact I'm not sure I even knew what balls were at that stage!
After she'd told me more and showed me how to do it I still didn't feel brave enough. I did share her tip will all the other girls though, so I knew it would only be a matter of time before one of us fought back. It didn't take long. He'd followed me home and sneaked up behind me with some other boys and then he pulled my hair really hard. It turned out that my older sister had followed me and saw what he did and she calmly walked up to him and I saw the look of terror on his face as she kneed him really hard in the balls!! He dropped like a sack of potatoes 😂
It was so funny seeing the look of panic and fear on all the boys faces, yet somehow all the girls seemed to be happy about it. It was if the balance of power was totally in our favour after seeing the effect a swift knee to the family jewels had on a boy. He was howling in agony "my balls, she got my balls, my balls..." holding on to his testicles like his life depended on them, and I heard he didn't get up for about 10 minutes afterwards. I felt it served him right though.
He never ever messed around with any other girls after that! 😂

Renee your friend-bully felt so crushed when you guys called her out. Learning self responsibility is so hard and many adults still haven’t learned how to own their mistakes and behavior. If she had the wisdom she would’ve known that if she had just admitted to you guys that she loves drama but that she is working on this bad habit... you all probably could’ve moved on and stayed friends. Unfortunately when you’re young, that never seems like an option... you just want to defend yourself endlessly. If you’re in high school and you’re reading this and going through some bullying, I was bullied too. It’s so common and always tough. It really does end the second you graduate. Keep pushing and if you feel you have no one to talk to, make friends with your teachers and I recommend trying to take art classes if you’re not into sports. It helps a lot.

Thanks so much for sharing! Was kinda nervous about commenting, but this topic is extra important to me and I loved hearing how you got through your experience. I was bullied in elementary school and thought no one understood what was going on. I felt that same exact way with knowing we were all kids and it helped me put all that in the past, but I’ve always wondered about other people going through that, as well. It’s good to hear that conversations are being started about these things so everyone can know they have support and can get advice when they need it. Love your vlogs btw! 💙💙💙

Here's the best advice a middle aged guy and a combat veteran can give to someone being bullied. The only thing all bullies understand is a massive overwhelming response from the person being bullied. Hopefully, the response only has to be verbal. If you're getting bullied, do not hold back. Go nuclear on the bully and go nuclear hard and fast. You'll feel better you did. Never take counsel of your fears. Audacity is your ally and God is your co-pilot. You'll come out okay. How could anyone bully a beautiful girl like you, Renee...Peace.

Know that they hate each other as well deep inside. They talk behind each other’s backs and it never ends. To you they might seem like a bunch of friends. But know they most of the time talk behind each other’s backs as well

I was bullied mostly because of being poor, too thin, and having the voice of a boy, even older kids commented that I was the one who 'sounded like a man', which is seriously annoying. I don't have this problem anymore, thank God.
I guess I had already developed the voice of a woman, but to those kids, it sounded like a man. I felt ashamed of my looks (because of dark circles). I also felt ashamed of my voice. After school, it took decades to overcome.

This is a really good one Renee... it is true, things that happen in your formative years i.e high school could feel ‘petty’ but they do shape you and how you relate to people in adulthood. I found out that my confidence started going up once I started playing a sport. Being part of a team is a huge confidence booster for girls, sidebar :) Those girls seemed to have been insecure. And the middle school one seemed like she was riding that wave of fake popularity. It is true that it is work to get in with the in crowd and work to stay in and keep up appearances. And what is the ‘in crowd’ anyway?

    • @olbird7647
      @olbird7647 4 года назад

Good points about 'in crowds'. Who says these groups are popular? And popular with whom? If they're that unpleasant they're probably only popular with themselves and that's usually a much smaller group than you think 😊

Long story short, I’ve been picked on for my lack of paying attention in class. Imagine being a sophomore and your being bullied by a senior. Thank god this was a year ago and he’s off to college, while I’m a soon to be senior myself and staying as a virtual student (online class)
