Although far outside the mainstream (in terms of their music and career path), LPD have released more than 40 albums, have a devoted worldwide following, and tour frequently.
Info: The Legendary Pink Dots (LPD) are an Anglo-Dutch experimental rock band formed in London in August 1980.[1] In 1984 the band transplanted itself to Amsterdam. The core members of the group are vocalist/songwriter/keyboardist Edward Ka-Spel and keyboardist Phil Knight. As of 2012, the group is composed of Edward Ka-Spel (vocals, keyboards, songwriter), Phil Knight (a.k.a. The Silverman) (keyboards, electronics), Erik Drost (guitars) and Raymond Steeg (live sound engineer).[2]
Their lyrics have a number of running inside jokes. When there is a mention of 'the gallery', it refers to the police station in the Warmoesstraat in Amsterdam. :-)
omg... 2014 was such a crazy year for me. I was working non stop.. I had no idea lpd were here .. I have a lower back tat that says princess coldheart with a crown with 3 pink diamonds. always awesome to meet fellow Tulsa cats into them
loved them the first time i ever heard them and still to this day, my wife wonders at times what im listening to....ha.... i tell her one of the best bands of all time! Duh!!!! ha... something tells me she doesn't believe me, ha.
The band was originally called "One Day..." [3] but subsequently changed the name to The Legendary Pink Dots. The story behind the name is a source of speculation because Edward has given multiple explanations behind its origins.

Trying to define the Dot's genre is as fun as listening to their music.
