Jeepers Creepers Movie Description:
On a desolate country highway, two homeward-bound teens (Gina Philips, Justin Long) are nearly run off the road by a maniac in a beat-up truck only to later spot him shoving what appears to be a body down a sewer pipe. But when they stop to investigate, they discover that the grisly reality at the bottom of that pipe is far worse than they could have ever suspected and that they are now the targets of an evil far more unspeakable, and unstoppable, than they could have ever imagined!
Jeepers Creepers is a 2001 horror film written and directed by Victor Salva. It stars Gina Philips and Justin Long as Trish and Darry Jenner, two siblings in college who are pursued by a violent truck driver portrayed by Jonathan Breck. The film takes its name from the 1938 song of the same name, which is featured in the film under a version by Paul Whiteman.[5] Patricia Belcher and Eileen Brennan also appear in supporting roles, with Salva making a cameo appearance.
Produced by American Zoetrope and the German companies Cinerenta-Cinebeta and Cinerenta Medienbeteiligungs KG, Jeepers Creepers began production in August 2000 after Salva convinced the studios to cast Philips and Long with the help of executive producer Francis Ford Coppola. Due to severe budget cuts, Salva rewrote the entire third act during production. Filming took place for two months in Florida in Ocala, Dunnellon, Reddick and Lake Panasoffkee. The film was theatrically released by United Artists and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer on August 31, 2001. It was a commercial success, despite mixed reviews, and grossed $59 million on a $10 million budget. The film also spawned a media franchise which includes two sequels and a reboot.

The sequel freaked me out even more. Had to drive home late in the night from seeing it a friend's house, looking up at the sky the entire drive home.
Fun Fact Mello, Justin Long got in a suit or makeup of the creeper in the end since it took Darry's eyes.

@@anthonysalinas-candelero9978 No I think there's a bit of confusion here, there's an alternate ending scene where Justin long got into the Creeper suit to pose as it testing out Darry's eyes. It was left out for good reason, it looked goofy & clearly was a different actor lol.
Fun fact. This movie is technically based on a true story. Only the beginning though.
A long time ago a couple was driving and they saw a man dumping what looked like dead bodies down a pipe. The man saw them looking and tried to run them off the road. That’s all I really remember about the story.
It happened in cold water Michigan. The man's name was Dennis DePue

the case was showcased on an episode of unsolved mysteries a very long time ago. but new leads developed because of that show airing, which is how they figured out a name; maybe not a motive.
Fun Fact: Giszelle the psychic lady is also the actress who played Mrs.Dabney in Good Luck Charlie.

The Creeper seeming very human like was part of the "creep" factor. It added to it. Think about it. This thing can move around (feet, car, etc) by day, and as long a he's not too close, you wouldn't realize he was some sort of creature or demon or whatever. He drives a truck for God-sake.
Roanoke Tales does a breakdown where he posits that "the creeper" was a human that was taken over by a parasite long ago.
He reminds me of Eugene Tooms from X-files, a human monstrous on the inside and out.

It's a very small detail but if you look at the very opening scene Trish is holding a pair of glasses. She puts them down & never wears them when everything starts happening but it's an explanation for why The Creeper picked Darry over her because his eyes have better vision.
It’s because of his fear. Darry was afraid after seeing what the bodies. The sister wasn’t as afraid. Jeepers can smell it on him which is why he took Darry

It could've been a factor but not the main reason. He did sniff them both then had to lick them before he made his choice. So that part could've been because he could smell and taste which one had better eyesight. And he did hesitate when she told him to take her instead, her brother through his fear told her no. But then he made his final decision when she told him she wouldn't fight him and then calling him a string of words.....he didn't like that her brother made her stronger and she could push through her fear to save him.
@@brazyfilmo3121 towards the end when it shows the Creeper's face you can see the paleness of it's eyes indicating that the Creeper was going blind and starting to develop cataracts in it's eyes, that's why the real reason he took him and plus the whole fear factor in there as well.

This is one of the most terrifying creature feature films to me. This came out when I was 10 and it legit had me terrified in the daytime. The music, creeper, the ending

Wrong on a small point Mell, the Creeper left the psychic lady alone because he wasn't interested in her smell, same thing with the sister. It's only interested in those that matches its preference, in this case the brother.

Jonathan Breck who played the Creeper and the screen used Creeper truck was at Scarefest here in Kentucky last year. Jonathan is a cool guy. The Creeper truck will be at Scarefest again this October.
1 and 2 are both amazing and important for different reasons. This one really immerses you slowly into the plot with it's genre twists. It's a slow burn and it's all about the descent into the story.
Then the second one rewards you with some juicy carrots from the rabbit hole that this one only dangles in front of you.😂 With the second one, you already know what genre you're at, and they fully flesh out all the extra details of the elements they introduced in the first one. A true, rare GOOD sequel.

Jeepers Creepers 2 is WAY better than the original in my honest opinion but I love this movie.
Less of a horror movie in the sequel which I’ve noticed disappoints a lot of reactors since they have certain expectations from the first. Honestly the transformations in the sequel made the creeper no longer “spooky” and “suspenseful” but goofy and silly looking. Especially when he starts leaping like a frog 😅 I know it’s not only me now because I’ve seen a few particular big reactors laugh at the same things/parts but hey, all is subjective of course 🙃
Jeepers Creepers 2 is the better one because some characters bring up the fight against The Creeper, so damn hard.
Part 3 is the best in my opinion.

The main part it was showing more of the Creeper’s truck and all its abilities, also that old man who was kind of his rival. The Creeper’s axe was cool too.

This is my Favorite horror movie of all time and has been one of the scariest iv seen since a kid. I'm glad people are starting to come around and give it a chance. Even with the controversy behind the director which I do not support. it's still an amazing story with some of the best on screen brother sister chemistry it's so natural. Justin long did his thing in this movie. glad to see him in more horror stuff again now.

What so amazing about this movie is this is the first time a horror movie that focus on siblings because most of horror movies (which they do til this do) is always focus on sprouse husband/wife, and boyfriend and girlfriend

Years ago my mom and I lived with my evil stepdad at an old farmhouse. It definitely had haunted vibes and my mom used to get sleep paralysis a lot there. She swears she saw the outline of the jeepers creepers and if you even say that word to this day she freaks out.
Sometimes I wonder if his evilness manifested physically or something. Idk.

I was just reminded by a meme on Facebook that this is the 23rd anniversary of jeepers creepers and it’s now the 23rd spring since the last time the creeper appeared so just be aware you to hang around for 23 days in spring every 23 years
I saw this opening weekend when I was 10, just to go home to a dark, creaky house. Scared the shit out of me for years.
When the lady says "Every 23rd spring for 23 days, It gets to eat" she's saying that the Creeper goes into a 23 year hibernation and when he comes back he only has 23 days to rejuvenate his body, And the Creeper does so by eating people's body parts and regenerates them as his own.
And the reason why the Creeper took Darry, Is because he liked the smell of Darry's fear in fact that's how the Creeper picks which body part it wants to eat the limbs or organs he eats doesn't have to be a mach he's able to eat and regenerate any kind of limb or organ no matter who they came from.
The Creeper only pursues people that are afraid of him, That's another reason why he took Darry and not Trish because he was afraid of the Creeper and she wasn't. Therefore the Creeper wasn't gonna waste his time on Trish. Though the Creeper's pursuit or Darry was more personal since Darry trespassed in the Creeper's lair and that made Darry a threat to the Creeper's secret, And in the end the Creeper made Darry pay the price.
The reason why so many horror movies, shows and books use old music is not only to add to the creepy factor but to also avoid copyright. Many old songs and poems are in public domain
