Venom Movie Description:
Journalist Eddie Brock is trying to take down Carlton Drake, the notorious and brilliant founder of the Life Foundation. While investigating one of Drake's experiments, Eddie's body merges with the alien Venom -- leaving him with superhuman strength and power. Twisted, dark and fueled by rage, Venom tries to control the new and dangerous abilities that Eddie finds so intoxicating.
Venom is a 2018 American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character of the same name, produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Tencent Pictures, Marvel, Arad Productions, Matt Tolmach Productions, and Pascal Pictures, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The first film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU), it was directed by Ruben Fleischer from a screenplay by the writing team of Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, along with Kelly Marcel. It stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and Venom alongside Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott. In the film, struggling journalist Eddie gains superpowers after becoming the host of an alien symbiote, Venom, whose species plans to invade Earth.
After Venom's appearance in Spider-Man 3 (2007), Sony attempted to develop a spin-off film based on the character but it did not move forward due to issues with Sony's ongoing Spider-Man franchise. In March 2016, work began on a new version that would start a new shared universe featuring the non-Spider-Man Marvel characters that the studio possessed film rights to. Sony also intended for Venom to share the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), but ultimately distanced the film from Spider-Man. In March 2017, Rosenberg and Pinkner were set to write, with Fleischer and Hardy added in May. Marcel subsequently joined to rewrite the script. Filming took place from October 2017 to January 2018 in Atlanta, New York City, and San Francisco. The film was primarily inspired by the comic book miniseries Venom: Lethal Protector (1993) and the story arc "Planet of the Symbiotes" (1995). Ludwig Göransson was hired to compose the film's score, marking his second Marvel film after Black Panther (2018).
Venom premiered at the Regency Village Theater on October 1, 2018, and was theatrically released in the United States on October 5. Despite being negatively received by critics, Hardy's performance and the character's relationship with Venom was praised. the film became the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2018 with over $856 million worldwide and set several box office records for an October release. A sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, was released on October 1, 2021, and Venom 3 is scheduled for release on November 8, 2024. - Развлечения
What's cool is tom hardy prerecorded venom's lines so they are being played back in an earpiece, so tom hardy is acting with himself in real time.
That's cool to you? You're easily entertained
Didn’t know that, that’s really cool

Cool fact, thought they had a separate VA for Venom

AND HIS 19 INCHES IS CRAZY
I came to the comment section just to see if someone said it 😂
That was no stunt double, Venom did all his own stunts.
23:27 Venom tuning up the S.W.A.T team will forever be one of my favorite MCU action sequences.
I feel like this venom was drawn by a woman who had a monster kink and solely reads spicy romance novels 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I can see it 😂😂
To be fair, he is kinda...you know.
and we're thankful for her service
"Wearable boyfriend"
I think Tom Hardy's portrayal of Eddie Brock was way better than Topher Grace in Spider-Man 3. And the design of venom seems more accurate like in the comics and cartoons.
Crazy ass title 😭
I always laugh at that scene where the little girl tries to ask a question, and when her class shushes her, the dude is like “they try to silence those that ask questions but we’re the ones who change the world”. But before she can actually ask her question, he just changes the subject and we never hear question. Idk if it was even intentional or just a script oversight 😅
Not an oversight, it's characterization. It's telling you who he really is. He made a big show out of spotlighting the girl but it was entirely about him. It was never about her question

fun fact!! The lobster scene was PURELY improv, and Tom Hardy's idea to both climb into the tank, and to bite the lobster.
Turns out that one lobster he bit was fake but the rest were live. That's why they switch angles when he grabs it then eats it.
"Come here little black girl, nappy hair little girl" mell woke up today and chose violence
yooo, chill with these titles man, lmao
🤣🤣🤣😭
Not a comic guy here, but this movie had me laughing, so did the second one, they did a great job on these both.
RIP Stan Lee for creating our childhoods. He'll always be a legend.

31:47 The amount of times I’ve seen this specific ad when the movie first came out. The trauma 😂🤦♂️
Right???
Not the 19 inches 😂 lol
I know you didn’t ask Mel but for the plants I find it easier to put them in a bowl or tub of water to let them take in as much water as they need.
You also only need to spray them once a week and use a cloth to wipe any dust off the leaves so they can photosynthesise properly.
Ok thank you!
Outta pocket for that title lmaoo 😂😂
I really like the editing in your videos. Especially when they're sitting down and you're edited in to sit next to them. Very interactive and creative, I like it.
A whole fucking pause on this 🤣
Bruh the title 💀

You did a good edit at @ 6:18 I had to watch that part twice. Good job 👏🏾
27:48 hey man shout out to the hazbin hotel edit! Props my dude ❤❤
Watching this with hazbin hotel knowledge i just can't see it without hearing loser baby in my head.
Yo Mel this title blew my mind 😂😂
6:20 these edits are PHENOMENAL 😂
Man I also question why woody for Carnage. I realllly think Rorschach's actor would've been insane
Jackie Earle Haley would've been awesome!
venom got mixed reviews but I loved this movie and Tom made the relationship so fun 😂
Another like Deadpool that exceeded all expectation. This did it in the aftermarket I think? Regardless one night I got a call from moms and she's like "Have you watched that movie with the actor from The Drop? The one where he turns into this slimy monster? Your stepdad and I love that movie.". "Oh yeah. Venom and Tom Hardy. That's the thing I used to have a glow in the dark t-shirt of. I always had difficulty sketching it. Awesome movie. Love the underdog character of it." And The Drop is just great btw. I would love to see a review of that one.
Venom did $850 million in the theaters

I love watching your reactions and my sons name is Karmello and we call him mello for short and every time you say your name he goes huh lol
Also, yes - in the comics there is a run where Eddie and Venom are canonically pregnant - their spawn is named Sleeper. Technically Sleeper is the first symbiote spawn that is /Eddie's/ - Venom spawned other times, but the rest were separated from Eddie.
The idea is still weird but Sleeper was pretty cool ngl
I love venom and this movie us just some good fun, doesn't have to be anything more, but yeah considering Eddie Brock has like 12 different characterizations over the years Tom Hardy did an amazing job bringing out some of the best parts of all the different versions of the character we've had.
7:53 Rest In Peace Ron Thompson. January 31, 1941 - April 13th, 2024. Beloved Actor, Skilled Singer, Lover of Arts.
In total, for how many symbiotes there are, a planet's worth. 40 though having a name and story.
The one we see here: Riot,
is one of the five Life Foundation Symbiotes that were forcefully spawned from the Venom symbiote.
Also, Woody to play Cletus Kasady honestly was a great choice cause he not only looks just like him in the comics but his behavior and acting really gives off that disturbing psychopath which he is.
That and I read his father was something of a psycho himself so he got to dig into that for cletus
I knew you gonna put "Loser Baby" in that exact moment 😂
Fun fact about the symbiotes: They share a hive mind, so they all have the same knowledge collected over millennia. This version of venom knows who spiderman is because other versions of venom have interacted with spiderman before like Tobey Maguire's Spiderman in the third movie.
Loved the reaction, as a comic fan despite what some "fans" say, venom is quite a goofball in the comics just in a bit more cynical and threatening way than the movie. Some deeper lore would also explain that the symbiotes aren't inherently evil and didnt even cause aggression like in some adaptations, in the og comics Peter Parker only ditched the suit because he found out it was alive and using his body to fight crime while he was asleep.
As for a comic I'd like to see adapted, funny enough it would be lethal protector which is what this movie tried to do but I'd want a more accurate portrayal
PS. One thing the movie did wrong though is make Venom the name of the symbiote, Venom is a name created for the bond between Eddie and the symbiote as a metaphorical poison towards Spider-Man, the symbiote's real name can't be pronounced by humans
Welp, title worked lol. Drew me in😂😂😂
For your plants mel you want to let the soil dry between waterings, just to prevent mould and mildew growth. You also need to allow for drainage in the bottom, and they love UV
Ayo lol ain’t no way you made this your title cuz nah pause over this whole video 😂
Mell! Great reaction, but I have to ask about something that has been distracing me lol. What is that lava lamp looking thing behind you in this reaction? haha
Awe I appreciate that and it's actually a light bulb that's supposed to look like fire, so you'll put it in a old lamp or something and it would look like fire.
Great Hazbin Hotel edit. Shoutout to your editor they on it!
That opening im dead 😂 😂 😂 💀 💀 💀 0:06
Title is absolutely diabolical Mellow 🙂
I know nothing about the comic but I loved both venom movies lol
You should read the Spider-Man comics with venom in them
Yes yes you brought the intro back Ty
Personally as a venom fan, I loved Tom Hardy as Eddie/Venom.
Love this title😂
Nice Thumbnail bro
Will always love the intros 😂❤
I still think doing a Venom movie without Spiderman is stupid, but I'll give credit where its due they did a good job with these movies considering what they probably had to work with.
Tom Hardy's portrayal of Eddie is pretty solid, the symbiotes , Venom especially, look basically perfect and I like the fact that , at the end of the movie, Eddie doesn't get the girl. The new fiancé doesn't turn out to be a jerk, in fact he's a decent guy. Eddie *wishes* he could be with her, but he understands that what he did was a *legit* betrayal. He has noone but himself to blame.
In fact, that's another thing they got right. Eddie isn't a villain or a hero for most of his career in the comics. He is a flawed human being and , sometimes, kind of an idiot who is his *own* worst enemy. So appreciate them leaving him off as the "lethal protector" at the end.
If I had to say a legitimate criticism tho its the fact that:
A) The relationship between Venom and Eddie goes a little too fast. Venom goes from treating Eddie like a skin puppet to suddenly seeing him as a friend in the final act almost out of nowhere. The movie REALLY needed more scenes between the 2 just talking and getting to know each other for us to buy that two have a legit connection most other symbiotes don't have with their host
B) The villain is kind of weak. He's not particularly threatening or interesting until he becomes a host for Riot.
This movie is so much fun, and yes please react to Venom 2.
Venom: *Expressly states the other Symbiote is stronger than him*
Mell: "Man, why the heck are you losing so badly Venom?!"
Me: O_O Wonder why he'd be losing the brawl.

Back in the 80's, Marvel decided to do a massive tie-in with a lot of superhero comics to boost sales. All the superheroes and supervillains involved had a scene where they disappeared. They and chunks from various planets were abducted by an all powerful being called The Beyonder. He smacked all the pieces of planets together to make a battle planet so all the super heroes and villains would fight each other. After a few battles, everyone realized what was going on, they weren't each other's enemies, the Beyonder was. After one of the fights, Spiderman and other characters had torn uniforms but they found a machine that would make new uniforms based on their subconscious. Spiderman was late to the room, he went to a random machine before he realized he was using the wrong machine, but he ended up with the black and white suit. As it turned out, the machine he used actually stored alien creatures and the creature had read his mind to pretend to be a new Spider-man costume. Sometime later he figured out it was an alien symbiote and not a high tech costume.
Please give the Star Trek franchise a chance. 🖖🏾
Tom Hardy was in Star Trek Nemesis.
I REMEMBER RON CEPHAS JONES FROM MR ROBOT AND THE GET DOWN OML I LOVED HIM SM THIS IS HOW I FIND OUT HE PASSED OH MY GOSH NOOOOO

Venom can make the bike run faster because with Venom's increased reflexes, strength, toughness.... well, everything.... he can open it up fully with no worry of turning into 500 yards of hamburger.

Venom has become somewhat of anti-hero now in the comics. He's become essentially a f**king God. He probably kick Thor's ass now. Venom has been going the anti-hero route since the early 2000s.
even before that he was never really a villain he always had morales. Once carnage was born bro basically became a edgier spiderman in all the best ways
I think it’s just a matter of perspective with the different universes and versions of Venom👌🏻🤟🏻
Wild ass title 💀
Tom Hardy climbing into a lobster tank will always be famous, to me. Man put his entire soul into this movie- that lobster tank scene was a last minute addition. Hardy saw the tank on the set and said "I'm getting in that b*tch"
ok
Fun fact there's supposed to be a Venom movie to be made in the 90s but it got rejected by many companies to make it also mellow you better play play PS5 Spider-Man 2 because that game is a hype why you'll know
Love number two Woody kills it
Most wild title I’ve read on a RUclips video
I’m a huge Venom fan, and let me just explain some of the basics for Sony’s Venom for you. His weaknesses are fire and sound. He loves to eat brains because of a certain chemical that can also be found in chocolate. He can’t form weapons like the other symbiotes. Symbiotes reproduce asexually so that’s how his son, Carnage in the next movie is created along with mixing with Kletus Cassidy’s (Woody Harrelson) saliva. Just like in these movies, in the comics Venom starts out as a villain but over time he became a hero, calling himself the Lethal Protector. Idk why I love these movies so much I just think Venom is a really cool character. Each time a symbiote reproduces, their offspring is always stronger than their parent. And one final thing I don’t think they will use in these movies is that the symbiotes come from a planet Klyntar (also the name of his species) and they were created by their god Knull who is crazy strong and has killed many other gods. If you see this I hope it’s not to confusing lol
Each symbiote have their own different moves and things they can do cus eachother one is different
There is so many symbiotes there is even a god they have knull
Idk about the whole tongue thing, but what I do know is that Todd Mcfarlane, one of the people who first came up with the design of Venom made him all big and bulky to give the idea that Spider-Man would never be able to beat him in a 1v1 fight. He's just too strong and vicious. And it's only by using his weaknesses against him that he would be able to beat him, forcing the hero to use tactics rather than brute strength.
I love the picture so amazing awesome 👍🏽😎 love it
Stone cold, Steve Austin shirt
You gotta watch the second one too, it's got some amazing shots (especially the circular window one)
AYOOOOO
I enjoyed both Venom movies. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I liked em.
The second one is my favorite
My man my man my man and obvi i'm talking about Venom LOL
This is probably the best superhero film I’ve seen in theaters

The life thing was the first thing I thought of watching this that movie was awesome
They are reshooting scenes in venom 3 but they are done filming this 3rd one is gonna be the best out the 3, and icing on the cake multiple symbiotes in one movie
Ever watch a movie called Upgrade(2018)? I always thought that was a great example of a venom movie without being a venom movie. I think you would really like it if you haven't seen it.
You should watch Upgrade. It's basically the tech version of this
