Bricklaying best part time job you'll ever have .
He's back... 🤟🤟 Brilliant stuff I've missed these videos the last few months
I wish he dose more videos I love watching this guy doing brickwork
Hi Charlie, as an expat from Colchester I was taught to lay bricks (I'm a plasterer and not a bricky, but learned simple stuff like bricking up a doorway) but anyway the geezer that taught me told me to tap the bricks with my trowel. Over here in Holland they say that tapping the brick brings the water to the top of the cement and makes for weak cement or a weak bonding, is this bullshit or is there any true in it. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.
Probably true to be fair. If anyone knows water, it's the bloody Dutchies.
For me it feels like it’s been windy most days this winter wears you down trying to make aware propping walls left right and centre just hoping there still there in the morning 😬😬
I like tailing out a corner with level from one side then keep adding to it so labourer can Clean behind you by time you get to other end all done and Clean. no need for loads of boards and perfect on tight gables just one stack in front the way you are facing
Great way 👌
Is that iso 36 or 32? Cheers
What trowel is that your using ?
Wind the worst buddy agreed 👍🏻
Where does the gulley connect to
Good thing with that insulation gives you a guide .charl .
Your body just feels beaten after a day in the wind 😂 plus the constant fear of the wall falling down 🤦♂️
100% agree wind is a killer
I never done it before but it seems laying bricks wouldn't be bad but laying them heavy blocks all day would be a pain in the azz
😊😊good morning mate that looks cold 🥶 😂sitting here on the beach ⛱️ its been four years since last blocks don't miss it one bit 😅not coming back not every😢don't like all that cold weather 😮ok stay safe 👍 love from the Philippines 😊😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’m on my way to lay some trench. Enjoy retirement 👍🏻👌
The Gordon Ramsey Bricklayer
I can finally do the two blocks on my shoulders and got proof 🤣🤣 J
Good lad
Do you get paid more for block than brick
Love ur vlogs bk in the day 40 years ago was a hoddie use to use plasters hod for brick / muck etc how times moved on . Pleased for you remember working for a flash chunt in Woolwich giving the muck for the flank wall on a windy day . I only done the job for a year then went into scrap
@michaelbbb2271
I remember those days well......
Brick hod for bricks, Plasterers hod for compo. Wooden pole ladders (not tied off) Putlog scaffolds, single guard rails, no brick guards. full - bag diesel mixer with a crank handle start. Bricks delivered loose to site, No pallets, No shrink wrapping, No forklifts or tele-handlers. Two inch cavities, fuck-all insulation, Boot lintels, No tray D.P.C`s. Imperial bricks 4 to the foot. Storey rods, timber windows. Cement in 1 CWT bags Hessian based D.P.C`s............and on....
@martin2466 😂😂😂 the good old days.

Not sure about the good old days it was a hard physical slog.
There was always good money to be made, if you were a grafter and just got on with it.
I did my time on the hod and thereafter nearly half a century on the blade.
I earned well, and built the house we now live in - and had a few good years as well £££
I`m old and retired now - and fcuking loving it.
😁👍👍👍👍
@@martin2466 glad to hear you made it! I got 30 more years doing masonry 😭
@@benllewellyn1887
I wish you well and hope you make it to a happy retirement.
Stay safe.
Tight lines......😆😆😆😆😆😆🤣👍👍👍👍🧱🧱🧱
To windy to wet to hot - I’ve been on gables where it’s so windy the scaffold boards were lifting up like a poor man’s wig but you never hear me piping up
You just did.😁

You was on the🍺🍺when you wrote that comment weren’t you lad?? Now now never drink and type/dial
f*ckin hell, ive got ptsd from when you were laying quote on quote; "like f*ckin glue this*" when you were working with that sticky ass muck i was scared it was going to be the same fml
Young lad missed a golden opportunity when you called for more insulation after telling him he should have had it round himself already haha
I much prefer your on site videos, i dunno i feel like they’re more interesting to watch🤣 maybe because i work on site too its good to see how other sites work

It does take it out of you working in the wind.
MORE GLUE PLEASE TOM! 👍🏻🫣😆
My face would have been red ....Great color from the wind

Say ya prayers and Get up there any weather or you'll never get your sea legs. I thought Christmas jumpers were mandatory on site.
Ours blew down today
Cold and windy with a slight drizzle - suicide weather!
R yall allowed both AirPods on the job site? If so that’s GAS!!!!

I lost 3 panels last night, shored up for south westerly....fucking turned over night to northerly...3 panels to clean up this morning.....😮
😢
Wind dries out muck, taps board constantly, builds gable in wind, constantly picking on Tom, should have just said I’m too slow for two buckets of muck instead 😏
Omg now it’s too windy for bricklayers….snow flakes
We are always having a moan.....its in our DNA.
