Another great video Charlie great to see Amy back and nice to see Frank your still good to him nice one can't wait for tomorrow's video. Keep up the great work team Charlie 💪👌👍😉
brickwork first on a band lift is a bit unusual iv always built all the blockwork from the outside then just jump in and make sure its plumb, easier to load out and keeps the floor alot cleaner
@@martin2466 For the most part different type of blocks (think those blocks we sometimes use but we glue em if they are the ones i think they are. Usually all the block work first then outer brick and as someone mentioned we point the outer brick after the build is finished. No wooden beams inbetween floors. We usually do concrete floors not saying wood isnt used anymore but from my experience ive never had that being used in modern houses. Even the trowel and the muck boards is a bit different. we put our muck in a big bucket and most trowels you get here arent shaped like that. How’s it going Charlie. Pommy Brickie here living in OZ. When bricking between timber floor Timbers we’ve always leave 5mm gap so the timber is allowed to move. Other wise the brickwork will crack 👍normally put control joint sponge against the timber joist👍
Love it when the brickies get the scaffold at working height and us poor roofers struggle to get on are roofs. Keep up the good wk.. From ACE ROOFING.!
Whenever I do flooring on my joists I allways allow 20-25mm between the flooring and the inner leaf, allows for expansion, by time you dot and dab the wall and put skirting on it covers the gap anyway
Hello my brother its daz the profiles you use I don't know if my brain wave will be any good measure the internal measurement then get Richard to make to make that square measurement with a hole in the middle so that you can screw it down to the footings when it is finished simply unscrew the footing clamp to be used again I wish your family all of God's rewards
Charlie is your house builder not bothered about joists been on brickets we had to put them in under a full course of blocks since about 3 years back (avant homes) I think ya gonna start a glue revolution now 🤣😂 pain in the arse the glue all over everything, get them chippies up to do it that's the new one now , great vid as always Charlie
Absolutely no need to clean silo every morning I drive forklifts for a brickwork company and do it once a week on a Friday as long as you crank handle back and run to slurry after every time you use it shouldn’t have any issues
💯 take it apart and give it a good clean every Friday and that should be all it needs. Obviously clean it out until the water comes out clean every night
sometimes the water can go back into rear of spindle if the washers start to get old even if you run the water clear, only takes 5 mins, better safe than sorry last thing you want is silo getting backed up first thing
Bricklayers should never touch the silo it’s the loadall drivers job. Unless you’ve been trained to do so. Because if there a accident the company denies all knowledge. Av seen a guy getting a bad shock before which burned his hand . A was told he shouldn’t off be touching because he wasn’t trained. Which left him with no claim. If they want you to use them make sure you’ve got it in writing . Big fly companies at it again. Blaming the working man. 👷👷
Bricklayers would rather not have to sort the silo out but the only other option is to hang around waiting for someone else to sort it out which could take all day. Some times the control box breaks down then you have no choice but to wait for someone to come out and replace or repair it. It's the bricklayers/labourers job to maintain it, it's got nothing to do with the forklift driver. On most sites someone from the silo company will come out and train the labourers how to use it and maintain it properly
Been watching your vlogs for about a month you are a top guy the way you muck in with all the crap jobs, a few people out there could learn from you. Been around the construction industry for most of my 50 years working and you guys (sorry Amy and girls) have to put up with so much red tape now, H&S is so restrictive it must do your head in. Keep up the good work.
Hold on who was the new guy at around the 32min Mark? New guy starting with you Charlie? Because I have done my time on the hod. Charlie got new people in so I could lay constantly. And when the next lot come in, it will be Harry’s turn on the trowel constantly. I was on the hod for 8/9 months because I was laying!
@@bricklayingwithamy1546 so your constantly laying and Harry is carrying the hod everyday id love too, Harry will get sick and just walk same as the other lad Liam he walked away get Harry laying.
Nice to see that Harry still worked for you back than,to bad yous couldn't mend fences and give him another Chance. Maybe he's got personal issues going on in his life that didn't mix with his working hours or whatever the reason was that he longer works with you. I understand business is business and work comes first and all that.
Once u get into your 40s this is what a surgeon told me and a doctor you are in the lap of the gods it's down to you to look after yourself I use to go down the gym not anymore couldn't do it

Cavity walls are a lot easier to build without having to put the cavity wall insulation in as work proceeds. Presume the cavities will be foam pumped full retrospectively. 20mm perimeter gap to the timber floor is for expansion of the materials
‘Faaaaaaacking hell what you got in eya you feeeving caaant’ love tradesman bant so much 😂
Business man/ people management/ Bricklayer... you deserve every penny you get mate, rare set of skills you have.
You've got a proper soft spot for Frank fair play 😂
Still helping out frankie boy! Good to see you're still buddies.
Maybe Harry can get another chance too?
working all day, and watching a guy work! Fine job, nice to watch a fellow brickworker with some solid work ! :P
What a top geez let you down countless times but still helping frankie out
Another great video Charlie great to see Amy back and nice to see Frank your still good to him nice one can't wait for tomorrow's video. Keep up the great work team Charlie 💪👌👍😉
The reason the gap needs to 10mm offf the wall is for the 1st fix trade and expansion in the plumber pipes Charlie.
they do love their glue. Goes down the entire first lift and covers all the blockwork yet we cant leave a pin hole (:
Rockin and rollin big man. Gotta get the crap outta the way first. Hoots take the bad with the good. You enjoyed seein your bud I could tell!!

Starting to think I'm strange. I'm on site on roofs all day and here i am watching a brickie work at 8pm. FML
Same here mate lol
And me lol

I'm a chippy qe need 20mm for air flow and for movement love the video mate

Yes Frankie!
im a ceiling fixer not a bricky but this is really satisfying to watch haha
Love beam filling!
If that was me doing that brickwork, i would have a tendency to tie some string around the trowel handle and wrist in case it dropped down the cavity
1000 signatures and reinstate frank. It will be fun while it lasts.
Iike that little trowel, perfect pick and dip choice. Those deck people need educating.
Window in a party wall made me laugh 😂
Spot on about glue Charlie carpenters get it everywhere on are job
Pain in the arse mate 👍🏻
That eyewash in that bucket looks a good consistency
Where are the joists going to expand when you’re filling up with muck ?
Take the lad back on 😂😂
Awesome vid
How many tools have u lost down the cavity’s over the years
Yeah, that was good. Shorter, more like a highlights of the day video!! Good stuff!!
Ye timber expands and contracts with moisture so ur bang on
Is he still on the brickwork? Did he qualify with you?
20mil gap from flooring to block work is to allow the shitboard to expand, although 20 mil is probably too much
Dreamteam is back 😁👌👍😄
Good to see Frank about
Should get a trowel challenge section 😂

such a waste of time
sometimes the water can go back into rear of spindle if the washers start to get old even if you run the water clear, only takes 5 mins, better safe than sorry last thing you want is silo getting backed up first thing
Yes you’re right we do the same and at the end of the day we switch the silo on with the lever closed until the water turns clear
When I start a new site I always tell the chippies to measure of the brickwork for the flooring in case we have to adjust the blockwork simple really
Why ain't they doing that anyway, I mean it is so obvious it is in front of them!
Omg,1376 is my lottery play 4 number that I play every evening.wow, that's something to see it on the piece of equipment. (6.00).
One day the penny will drop with big Frank, then he’ll be a top bricky.

Harry's in again, good lad.
Bumping up 80 80 80 lol, go gauge & notch out the thermalite blockwork. Pmsl
Window in a party wall? The drawing is handed ya numpty!
Container looks like its been robbed 😂 normally shit everywhere
I take it the cavity are pumped with insulation from the inside
Complains about the chippies glue, but I bet its the labourers job to scrap the muck up when their done 😁
Last site we worked on when we beam filled they wanted us to point from the inside the gap from the block to the web of the joist 😂 40mm of gobbo
It’s to allow for expansion mate
