Awesome review! You hit the nail on the head with every point. I shot this gun at the range before I bought it. It blew me away! This gun will only be appreciated by people who actually know guns and shoot regularly. People will always complain about things that really don't matter or they have a misunderstanding of the gun. Like I can tell you know a proper combat trigger press and I can appreciate that. Rarely do I ever hear people talk about a proper trigger pull on a pistol. Most people test triggers by pulling them as slow as humanly possible. You aren't hunting a deer with a rifle. Feel for the trigger then one clean press to the back. No one is going to pull a gun in self defense and slowly press the trigger and we shouldn't be training like that either. The Sar 9's trigger is a fantastic combat trigger. Learning marksmanship is fine, but thats all it is. Putting shots on target is something different all together. Then there's the recoil spring complaining. I'm sure you've heard "if it can't run the cheap stuff, then I don't want it" or "if it doesn't function right out of the box, then it's a piece of crap". Well I can appreciate a gun that makes +P ammo feel like 115 grain ball ammo. I shot 100 rds of 115 grain Magtech and Federal through the range gun and had no issues. I just got my gun and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. As long as it cycles my carry ammo, I'm not to concerned. The build quality is fantastic. Best gun for the money in my opinion. I used to give that title to the Canik TP9. Not any more. Not even close actually. Sorry for the long post. I like your reasoning!
Just bought one today blindly! I had absolutely no clue of this brand prior & almost had buyer's remorse, until I read a few random reviews, but then I came across your video which really sold me to love it! Great job! 👍🏼
I have one and I love this gun. I have over 4000 rounds through it and not a single failure and the finish is great. Have some minor wear on the barrel but nothing out of the ordinary. It is very comfortable and very accurate, it is a great gun.
Went to a local gunshow to help my son in law pick up his first firearm. The first table in had 5 Sar9 next to 1 HKVP9. The Hk was priced at $680 while the Sar was $370. I told my son to get one while they lasted. We went home and looked over the gun. I was so impressed, I went back and bought one for myself. The seller asked which model did I want, the Sar 9 or Sar9T? I asked whats the difference, but he didn't know. He reached under the table and sold me the 9T model. Didnt realize the difference was mine had no manual safety, which I preferred. I love this gun, slightly more than my other 9mm. If my glock 19x is the Hummer of my guns and my Beretta APX is the battleship of my guns, the Sar9 is definitely the stealth bomber of my firearms.
Just bought a platinum SAR9PT from PSA for 260 after shipping and taxes. 25 at my FFL, I'd say i made out like a bandit! Havent shot one yet but a buddy has one and after lots of research i pulled the trigger on it. Kind of wish i would have waited for the X but i couldnt pass it up for 220. Only negative i can think of is no night sights or optic cut. But im sure I'll be happy either way and buy them eventually.
The guns are very reliable. We pay in Turkey for a glock 19 like 3500 USD. Sar9 is a good alernative for us. In the Polymer gun segment its good and also as price good for us.
I just got this gun. Love it. Already put 500 rds through it no problems. Oh yea , it says 15rd and people say it hold 17! So I tried 17 and it sure did fit. BUT. I had a FTF so i don’t recommend it.
Very detailed unbiased review . I was actually waiting for its shooting test on the range after 20 or 25 min of video but you did this on the table . Very good video👍 thanks.
Just picked mine up a few days ago on advice from a friend. Excellent review, you deserve far more views than you currently have. Gained a sub today, too! Thank you!
Thank you! I hope your new purchase serves you well. Also be sure to check out the update in the description, as it corrects a few statements made in the video. 👍
Just like I stated in the video! It's good to see that some people understand that certain weapons are designed around a particular cartridge and not always vice versa.
This is hands down the finest review of this handgun. You answered all my questions and added extra information, helpful information by the way, very knowledgable. Thank you for the time and I think you just sold me on this platform.
Idk if you mean from the video or what I updated in the description but I have found out through further testing that a Gen 4 recoil spring is slightly too short to work properly. However, this pistol has gained a decent amount of aftermarket support from companies like Galloway Precision. There were a few upgrades they had available for this pistol including a trigger last time I checked.
Excellent review. Very detailed. You should have more views than you do. I have watched a few videos on this gun and if anyone really serious about buying your video will convince them to purchase. Maybe you should rename and repost. Great Job!!!!
Thanks for the advice and compliments! This is really my first attempt at reviewing anything on RUclips. I still have yet to get out and shoot the SAR9 but as soon as I do, I will have a shorter follow-up video on its performance.
SAR is a Nato contractor, so they are OK with me. I have the SAR9 Socom and i love it. These guns are a steal. These guns also go through the NATO testing protocols, which are incredibly rigorous. And a lot of folks are making holsters for this now.
Bought mine 2 weeks ago from PSA for $249.99 plus tax and shipping. Excellent firearm, not just for the money, but excellent firearm period!!! I love mine and don't know if I will ever buy as good a gun again for that price. I bought the SAR9 and SAR9T. Spent less for both guns than a single Glock.
Thanks for posting this. I just picked one of these up the other day almost on a whim. Great looking weapon, and it feels very smooth. I'm really looking forward to trying it out on the range. From what I've seen on other reviews, it looks to work great. Thanks for posting this very thorough walkthrough!
A friend has one, early on it required all of the following to function reliably: Disassemble, clean and relubricate. Cycle the slide by hand as many times as you could stand during the days before getting to take it to the range. Leave the slide locked back any time it wasn't in your hand being cycled. Use full NATO spec or comparable 124 grain ammo. Hold onto the gun with a purposely aggressive grip while firing including not getting tired or relaxing on the last shot from the magazine. Otherwise the recoil spring, the most powerful I've ever felt in a 9mm, would keep the gun from ejecting the case or if you relaxed at the end of the magazine, the slide wouldn't lock back. It's a great gun in every other way, but it must have NATO power level ammo to function at first unless they start shipping it with a spring designed for American commercial ammo.
Owned since July 2018, and yes mine was very "tight" when I received it and 115gr range ammo had problems cycling the action. Switched to 124gr. NATO ammo and haven't had a hiccup since with between 1000-1500 rounds down range. I now can use 115gr. ammo at the range also, with the only issue being the occasional weak last round failing to lock the slide back. This pistol was designed to be the Turkish military's sidearm and mine likes 124 gr. FMJ Winchester NATOUSA and Blazer Brass 124 gr., but it also feeds my Federal HST 124 gr. +P LE hollow points just fine or Hornady Critical Duty 135 gr. My SAR9 has 1 purpose, it stays in my tactical vests holster for a SHTF pistol except for day trips to the range. Well worth the money I spent!
Exactly the same experience here. Have this pistol with SS slide and love it. Initially *very* stiff recoil spring and a bit gritty overall. Not reliably cycling 115 grain even with careful grip and form. I stored with slide locked back and then ran some fairly expensive 124 gr +P ammo through. After breaking in it operates flawlessly with 115 gr range ammo. Best pistol I own now, it is more comfortable and I shoot it better than the G17.
Wow, I have a Sar 9 and two Glocks and a Springfield Armory XD9 and went to the range with 259 rounds of some no name prepper 9mm reloads I split buying a 500 round bag with a friend. 115 grain brass round nose. Not any of my other guns would cycle more than two of these rounds. My SAR 9 ate them like candy 🤔
@@billyfreeman5803 more you use it more you'll like brother,i've shot one at my local poligon it was at around 3k rounds and trigger even better, the trigger breaking in so smooth after couple hundred shots..
I have their CM9 Gen 2 with stainless steel slide and love it, it's a tank!!! Also been thinking about their SR38 revolver which chambers either .38 Special or .357 Magnum, have seen nothing but good about it!
I’m late to this video, but I bought one about a year ago and I can’t say enough good things about it. Aside from a user error failure to eject, I’ve never had a single issue. It feels great in the hand, it’s reliable, and it’s accurate. It may be just my familiarity, but I’d take the Sar 9 over any of the Glocks I’ve shot.
This review is the first of several that I've watched that is praising the trigger action. So many have complained about the trigger. I have this firearm and I'm no handgun expert as this is the first handgun I've ever owned and only fired the weapon 1 time and the trigger action felt very smooth and my gun fired seamlessly.
@@billyfreeman5803 I hope normal times and high ammo availability return soon because the price tags for ammo is ridiculous! $79.99 for my first box of ammo 50 rounds FMJ! $50.00 for my second box of ammo 50 rounds JHP! $60.00 for my third box of ammo 50 rounds FMJ! $189.99 + 0.056% sales tax, $200.63 total for 3 boxes of ammo purchased from 3 different gun stores! Whoa! Not buying anymore until these prices go down!
@@audiovisualproof5407 well here is one thing we know for sure. The high prices are not exactly the same across the country. Many stores and online vendors are taking advantage of the people because they know they are panick buying. You just told me that you spent $80 on 50 rounds of FMJ which is typically more affordable than defense loads. At another store you paid $50 for 50 rounds of JHP. Depending on the round, $1 per round is almost normal for jacketed hollow points. My local store that is closest to me is selling FMJ 9 mm for $26 for a 50-round box. About 2 weeks ago, I drove about a half hour away to another FFL to look at a gun they had that I was interested in. While I was there, I saw that they had 9 mm in stock. Fiocchi 9 mm fmj 115 grain was priced at $19.99 a box. If the prices vary so much for the same product, we know that it's not the manufacturer playing with prices. It's the middle men between us and the manufacturer. So either the distributors that the retailers are buying from are randomly raising the prices because they know they can get away with it or the retailers are raising the prices on their end for the same reasons. If multiple distributors are able to sell 9 mm to multiple retailers who are then able to sell it for $20 a box and make a profit, there is no reason for distributors to be marking up their prices on the retailers who buy from them because the point I just made before proves that the manufacturers are not drastically increasing their sale prices to distributors. Our ammo prices are high because of greedy distributors and/or greedy retailers.
@@billyfreeman5803 Wow! The $79.99 price tag I paid for the 50 rounds was Fiocchi 9mm 115 grain! I decided, immediately after buying, I was never ever going back to that gun store! The place that you went to that had the Fiocchi for $19.99 do they sell online? Also does your local store sell online? Lastly, which type of ammo is considered defense loads? Thanks.
@@audiovisualproof5407 they're both just "Mom & Pop" stores actually. It's always better to use a hollow point for defense. They transfer alot of energy into the target when they start to expand after impact. FMJ is better for penetration, but that isn't what you want for a defense load. While you want the round to go deep enough to hit vitals, you don't want it to fly right through and keep going. Fmj's are supposed to be cheaper because the bullets themselves are easier and cheaper to manufacture. So when they ARE cheaper, it's usually what I use at the range to punch holes in paper. Save the hollow points for "serious use".
Just picked one of these up. I'm surprised they're not more popular than they are I live in the US and I absolutely love mine I thought the trigger was nice and crisp a lot of reviews talk crap about the trigger.
Sometimes the triggers are a bit gritty out of the box, but mine smoothed out pretty quickly and didn't have much grit to begin with. More like friction rather than grit.
I replaced the factory recoil spring with a stainless rod/ 17 lb spring from Shepherd Tactical. Works great with all ammunition .. my next is a trigger upgrade
I just bought this gun and absolutely love it! One thing I observed with the grip is although the texture mimics the H&K variants the shape to me more resembles the Walther PPQ. I know I’m splitting hairs but actual shape looks more PPQ. I’m still watching the vid so I will probably comment more.
www.raniersec.com WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T TRUST THIS WEBSITE!!! I did some checking to see if I could find some mags in stock for you. They supposedly had them in stock for $21 with no purchase count limit. They also had multiple brands of 9mm in stock that were all less than $13 a box. Seemed SUPER fishy. Their address they have listed is a small office building and they say right on the website that they don't share the warehouse location for "security reasons" I called the phone number they have listed at 11pm and they supposedly had a "high call volume due to Covid" but then it switched to a line that said their voicemail is not yet setup.
Thanks for reviewing this. I always like the look of this gun but turned it down due to lots of other reviewers gave it negative reviews when it first came out in the US. Now I'm deciding which to go with SAR9 or Stoeger STR9 because I love the price. Heck, maybe I'll just get both!
Stoeger STR9 is pretty cool, but the trigger is pretty bad in my opinion. Plus the SAR9 has already gained a slight bit of aftermarket support since I uploaded this video.
same, the 17th round doesn’t go quietly though, I actually backed it down to 16 because the first time I loaded and chambered it I shot the first round and the clip dropped straight to the floor... 16 rounds and under No Problems from then on out
There actually is night sights you can get from sar usa. Metal not plastic like glock likes to throw around. And there are kydex hilsters from a few companies for this gun as well. They also are supposedly bringing in a single side safety AND a safety delete pin which will be available also at SAR USA (the guns importer). I hear theres also a trigger kit in the works but from what I can tell people are generally happy with the trigger as is.
I’ve been shooting federal champion 115grain and haven’t had any issues with cycling. 500 rounds for 85bucks can’t go wrong. But you said a gen 4 recoil spring would be beneficial ?
I was under the assumption that it would just by comparing the 2. The length of the two different springs is practically the same but because of how they sit when they are installed, the Glock Recoil spring assembly is a tad too short to function properly in the Sar 9. Another bummer. As for the gun's cycling, it cycled just fine, but my VERY FIRST shot with it short-stroked and rechambered the spent case. After that, no issues, just weak ejection landing about 2 feet to my side with 115 grain fmj Fiocchi
I think the slide looks like a CZ P-10 or pretty close the frame is H&K VP9 like Galloway has a upgrade trigger for 22 bucks and +3 magazine base plates for those who care very happy with mine
Would you say the ejected shells come back over your shoulder or head? Had a glock - back over my shoulder (safe) just sold a new xd9 defender due to it's ejection path going back over my head which made a few neck burns at the range. It's a small enclosure - but never had any problems with everything else I've shot there. The hot shells bounced of the low ceiling, way to close to my head landing on my shoulder or bouncing off my shoulder to my neck. Had a collared shirt buttoned all the way up and two hit and stuck to my neck, right at the top of the collar.
I am probably going to by this. I have always respected Sar Arms. I have owned the B6P compact and the B6P for years. The Compact is the most reliable pistol I own. It;s the only pistol in my safe that hasnt had at least one failure even caused by operator error such as limp wristing. I just hate the way Sar puts there logo all over them. This one doesnt look as bad. Do you know if it is compatible with any other guns mags, sights, holsters etc?
Pretty sure it takes an M&P rear sight and a Glock front sight. I used mine with an HK 45 level 2 leather/kydex hybrid holster. Seemed to work just fine in leather holsters made for full sized Springfield XD's and Some Glock 17 holsters. Pretty sure they actually make holsters for these now. I'd check out Crossbreed and Osborne Holsters. Maybe even Alien Gear. As for mags, not really sure. The profile looks almost exactly like a CZ mag, but the mag release cuts are in a different location.
You definitely did! I've been seeing them go from $400 to $450 these days. but honestly, even if the regular street price was $400, it's still well worth it.
Nice, one of these will definitely be on my list. I had a shield 9 but had to sale it and now carrying my heavy girsan mc1911s but I'd like to get this 9 and the compact girsan mc28c.
Prepper's here in my home town. Although I haven't bought from him yet lol. No particular reason tho. Just bought a SAR 9T 9mm the other & can't wait to get it in.
I was looking a Canik when I found the Sar9. The Sar was in stock so I took a chance as I did not know much about it. I have been impressed with it from the start!
@@nicholasthompson9607 the best thing you can do is practice with ammo as close as possible to what you're going to carry, if not, practice with EXACTLY what you carry. I, for example practice with 124 grain NATO spec FMJ. I'll probably catch flak for this but that's also what I carry. I don't need to worry about collateral damage in a self defense shooting. If I'm in a situation where I have to shoot some but someone I don't want to shoot is behind them, I'll take cover and wait for my shot. Hollow points have a chance to pass through as well, especially if they get clogged with clothing and don't fully expand. Not saying hollow points are a waste at all though. They definitely do the job better than an fmj but Im just able to be more consistent in my practice and I know where my rounds are going to impact at different distances. If I had the money, I'd practice with Federal HST 124 grain +P 😂🤣
In short, if you insist on carrying hollow points and practicing with fmjs, try and get your hands on winchester 124 grain NATO FMJ 9mm or Fiocchii 124 grain FMJ. The Fiocchii isn't labeled as NATO spec, but it IS loaded to NATO spec. 👍
Went to my LGS and they ended up swapping them right there after looking at them to see if it would work. They DID say that the SAR Striker channel liner was a little thinner and would swap that out with a Glock striker channel liner before making the swap permanent.
I would buy this gun, but I am a hammer fired guy... but I do have the Sar Usa 2000! Another great gun! (A friend of mine owns the Sar 9 and he's a fan!)
I don't understand why this gun has not taken off in the US the way the grip feels in your hand the accuracy the reliability while after purchasing and every range visit it gets a deep cleaning it has 800 rounds through it in four range visits it has fed fired ejected every single round without a malfunction the trigger and reset is pretty good simular to my Ruger SR9 but the price was 330 dollars out the door price make me wonder why anyone would spend 500-600 for a gen5 Glock 17,19 is because Glock has people believing that no other manufacturers in the world could possibly compete with Glock l don't buy it it's not 1990 things have changed in the handgun world for the better in 2019 and guns like the Sar 9 and Canik TP9sfx are going to make other manufacturers step up there game or be left behind
2 reasons. 1. New imports sell at a low price when first introduced until they catch on in popularity. Like I mentioned in the video, The Springfield XD was called the HS2000 before it was imported by Springfield. Once it gained popularity from being a Springfield product, the price went up. In this case, social media posts and RUclips reviews start getting more attention and more sales are made, so the price goes up a little. 2. The reason it went up SO MUCH is supply and demand. Plandemic panic buying did a lot to the prices of guns and ammo. Not sure if you could imagine but 9mm FMJ used to sell for $12.50 a box by me before the Plandemic and I'm not talking about steel cased crap either.
Well, to be honest, I don't go and shoot it all the time. I maybe have a couple thousand rounds through it and it's holding up just fine. Trigger has smoothed out even more as well. All in all, still a good option today.
Hey Bill, wondering if I need to replace the stock recoil spring with a stock Glock 17 gen 4 recoil spring so I don't have any issues with 115 grain ammo. Thoughts ?
Through further testing, a Glock 17 recoil spring is just slightly too short to work. I never upgraded my spring tbh. I just shot it and broke it in. I know this can be a little too expensive these days, so you can just try locking the slide back and leaving it like that for a week or so before shooting it for the first time.
@@billyfreeman5803 Thanks, I'll give it a try. I did notice the Glocks front portion of the pin was a bit thinner and was wondering if it would be the right length.
Had the SAR 9 for about 10 months now. Very stiff when it first arrived, gets better with use. Definitely prefers NATO ammo. Initially had issues with cycling & ejection using Remington UMC 115 gr & Winchester 115 gr White box, and as a general rule I only feed it Winchester NATO 124 gr. Only issue now is when shooting Remington or Winchester 115 gr. it will occasionally fail to lock the slide back when empty on an under powered round. Since I can buy the NATO rounds for about the same price as the UMC & White Box I use only 9 mm NATO for all of my pistols and 9 mm Carbine, very reliable. Accuracy is as good as my SAR Mega 2000 ( a CZ 75 Clone all metal ) which I've owned for 2 years. I have only had good experience with SAR. Great review!
I got it from Preppergunshop.com. this was awhile ago and the prices seem to have gone up a decent amount everywhere I've seen them. Went from $250ish to $375ish. Lol
As of now, there are more than just a few. Foxx Holsters, Osbourne, Alien Gear, and a few of those cheaper kydex holster companies like We The People have options for this. Probably some more that I'm not remembering off the top of my head.
It's a fully supported chamber. I used it in 4 deployments. It has never failed and I have 10 other team members that have switched to Sar9 and Sar9C. Softer ammo won't cycle for crap. . Again, made for nato rounds.
Would you say it's the same size of the glock 17? I am thinking about buying one, but "almost " every video i watched on RUclips there's some kind of failure to shoot. Maybe I'll just buy the sar k2.
Failure to fire or failure to eject? It has a stiff recoil spring so it likes hotter ammo. I've only ever had one failure to eject and that was the first round right out of the box. No failures to fire. Someone recently mentioned a company in the comments that is starting aftermarket parts production for this pistol as well.
As for size, the slide lengths are pretty much indentical. If you stand them up on their grips with a mag inserted and the mag baseplates on a flat surface, the SAR is a little taller, but not by much.
What videos are you watching pal , every video I've seen on RUclips it runs flawlessly, dont bad mouth this pistol just because you're probably a glockturd fan boy
I got a laser on mine now, accuracy is great. I wonder if there are any front sight aftermarket options. I know the sights have a dove tail when removed so I wonder if those mounts they sell work?
@@johnmarato8722 Not yet I am talking to Truglo about getting that combo. This is per my gunsmith so if he is wrong he can pay for them, lol. I am not worried about the front sight it appears to be Glock once you take the slide off and the barrel out it looks like any one of my Glocks. Same with the trigger bar and connector all appear to be Glock,
Crossbreed makes one that's actually for the SAR 9. As far as compatibility, most leather holsters for the Glock 17, Full Size M&P, and Full Size Ruger American will work effectively. I say "most" because sometimes the retention strap won't work. I used a Tagua Owb leather holster for an HK45 with a retention strap and while there wasn't much friction rentention, the retention strap worked perfectly and there wasn't much wiggle in the fit. I have yet to find a kydex holster made for another pistol that works with the sar 9.
Your best bet might be the blackhawk omnivore until you can get your hands on that fobus holster and that's if the omnivore is allowed to be used for competition. Not too hip on the different competition shooting rules.
I did but of course, just my luck, I wasn't even thinking of filming that day. Super cold, snow and sleet. I remember exactly how it went though. First two mags with 115 grain fmj had weak ejection and a few stovepipes. This gun from the factory definitely prefers heavier/hotter loads. Switched over to Winchester NATO 124 grain and had absolutely no issues.
Also sorry for bombarding the comments lol but this video is new and I just got this gun so I feel this is a sign lmao. I took the little sar 9 emblem out and painted it black cuz the red was an eyesore.
Definitely sucks about the slide finish and barrel. That being said, has anyone seen any wear or damage on the slide or barrel after a considerable amount of rounds through it? At least over 100.. Just ordered mine so hopefully it will hold up. Thanks
The only wear I'm seeing on mine is the finish on the barrel towards the muzzle, the top of the hood and by the locking lugs. No unusual wear into the metal itself so far. I'm only at about 450 rounds though.
Ummmmm..... Many pistols have "polymer" plastic striker plates. Glock, Canik, Smith & Wesson, etc. That wouldn't cause issues unless it was made out of spec, which can happen with billet aluminum as well. Idk who you heard that from but it sounds to me personally like they don't know what they're talking about. No offense to them, of course.
I'd say the only issue is that it has weak ejection with cheaper fmj rounds when it's brand new. Just feed it hotter ammo as long as you can, but definitely at least for the first 500 or so rounds you shoot through it. Winchester 124 grain NATO spec is what I used.
This is a little bit of an older video and they should have gun specific night sites for this pistol. But if you can't find any in stock I know that the front sight should at least be a Glock style. The rear sight if I remember correctly was the same as a Smith & Wesson M&P. And then you would want to make sure that the two different heights are compatible if you're buying the sites separately.
BTW: DO NOT HAVE A TRUCK GUN!! Keep your firearm(s) on your person at all times away from your vehicle. Criminals become *_armed & dangerous_* through people leaving their guns in their vehicles. And this serious issue is growing year by year.
Awesome review! You hit the nail on the head with every point. I shot this gun at the range before I bought it. It blew me away! This gun will only be appreciated by people who actually know guns and shoot regularly.

What ammo did you run?

I tend to over explain things on account of my OCD. Lol
Nice video. Really enjoyed the way you explain everything. I just purchased one and can't wait to take it to the range.
Shot mine today for the first time I had reservations but it ran flawlessly recoil was very manageable no complaints at all.
Very solid & I formative review, keep em coming!
For all of you who do not know, the Sar9 line is chambered in 124 nato. That's why the spring is so heavy. Just things that you need to know.
No problem, man! Just make sure you read the update in the description which corrects some minor misinformation about a few of the specs. 👌
Galloway Precision has starting production on parts for the SAR9 now.
I'll have to look into that! Thanks a lot, Wade!
Good show! Thanks for telling me about the recoil spring
It's well over $ 430.00 now , but it's much better than a lot of others
Thanks for posting this. I just picked one of these up the other day almost on a whim. Great looking weapon, and it feels very smooth. I'm really looking forward to trying it out on the range. From what I've seen on other reviews, it looks to work great.
Thanks for posting this very thorough walkthrough!
Just a heads up, the newer ones have 17 rnd site holes on the magazines.
Alien gear has holster’s for the Sar 9 !! I use the cloak tuck 3.0 iwb and super comfortable and very durable.
"Versa Carry" for Glock 17 also...
A friend has one, early on it required all of the following to function reliably:
Disassemble, clean and relubricate.
The magazine is Meg-gar made. These guns are also very popular here in Turkey. I own also one.
Glad to hear that! That just makes it even better. Mec Gar magazines have always been reliable in any gun I've used them in. How do you like yours?

I’m late to this video, but I bought one about a year ago and I can’t say enough good things about it. Aside from a user error failure to eject, I’ve never had a single issue. It feels great in the hand, it’s reliable, and it’s accurate. It may be just my familiarity, but I’d take the Sar 9 over any of the Glocks I’ve shot.
Hi from Turkey. I also recommend you to review the canik tp9 series. sar9 gen2 has just been introduced in turkey, it has a great look.

This review is the first of several that I've watched that is praising the trigger action. So many have complained about the trigger. I have this firearm and I'm no handgun expert as this is the first handgun I've ever owned and only fired the weapon 1 time and the trigger action felt very smooth and my gun fired seamlessly.
Under normal times with high ammo availability, this gun screams for hot ammo and rapid fire. 👍
Other than field of view, an excellent video.
Hows the recoil spring working , any odd wearing marks on gun frame or anything ?
I just bought this gun and absolutely love it! One thing I observed with the grip is although the texture mimics the H&K variants the shape to me more resembles the Walther PPQ. I know I’m splitting hairs but actual shape looks more PPQ.

www.raniersec.com WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T TRUST THIS WEBSITE!!!
My stock one came with 17 in a mag. Got it two days ago
Yeah. Now they're actually marking the mags as 17 rounders, but I'm pretty sure they've always held 17 even if they were only marked for 15.
same, the 17th round doesn’t go quietly though, I actually backed it down to 16 because the first time I loaded and chambered it I shot the first round and the clip dropped straight to the floor... 16 rounds and under No Problems from then on out

Galloway's been taking the lead on aftermarket accessories for these guns and I love it!
Alot is changing since I uploaded this video! I'll have to look into those.
This is straight from Sarsilmaz. I talked to them yesterday about everything that is not in their manual. Hope this helps you guys and gals.
Billy Freeman wow thanks for replying I was almost about to order it!
I would have felt bad if that happened. Haha
I have one and love it thinking of putting a small sight on it

I think the slide looks like a CZ P-10 or pretty close the frame is H&K VP9 like Galloway has a upgrade trigger for 22 bucks and +3 magazine base plates for those who care very happy with mine
I paid 530 USD for Sar9. The other once like Glock, Sig are imported and have a huge tax. But our gun market here is a very small market.
Never had this firearm throw brass at my face or head. Always went right over my elbow or shoulder.
It fits in a Fobus Standard Holster RH Paddle SP11
My new Sar 9 came with marked 17 round magazines, Sarsilmaz must address it?

@@billyfreeman5803 I have some hollow tips but I don't want to use them ...any suggestions?

GLOCK HA HA HA a cardboard box with a handle! the sar is good but the cz 75 is great!
Why did the price almost double since your video?
2 reasons.
Thanks for the reply
So 2yrs into it How is weapon Doing?
Well, to be honest, I don't go and shoot it all the time. I maybe have a couple thousand rounds through it and it's holding up just fine. Trigger has smoothed out even more as well. All in all, still a good option today.
"If you're new to glocks you wouldnt know but if youre new to glocks you know exactly what im doing" lol
Yeah.... I caught that lol but I'm sure you know what I meant since you picked it out lol
Own one. Love it. Best pistol i have ever shot and own !!
Very similar experience to mine.

Have you found a holster that works?
Crossbreed makes one that's actually for the SAR 9. As far as compatibility, most leather holsters for the Glock 17, Full Size M&P, and Full Size Ruger American will work effectively. I say "most" because sometimes the retention strap won't work. I used a Tagua Owb leather holster for an HK45 with a retention strap and while there wasn't much friction rentention, the retention strap worked perfectly and there wasn't much wiggle in the fit.
I wouldnt be too concerned about looks when a pistol has one purpose to protect and defend
I’ve heard there were issues with it having a “ plastic striker plate “ don’t know how that affected its reliability etc.
Want to buy one but for every good review I see there's a negative one as well. Have you experience any problems with yours?
I'd say the only issue is that it has weak ejection with cheaper fmj rounds when it's brand new. Just feed it hotter ammo as long as you can, but definitely at least for the first 500 or so rounds you shoot through it. Winchester 124 grain NATO spec is what I used.
@@billyfreeman5803 thanks for the quick reply and feedback much appreciated.
Picked up my SAR9X yesterday
Got it for 500 from gunbroker
Beautiful firearm))
Does anyone know if any of the glock slide back plates fit on the sar9?
I'm afraid they won't work. The plate on the SAR9 is angled inwards from the bottom of the plate and the Glock plates are flat.
Great video
Is this Sar 9,guide rod, plastic or steel.?
Steel
How the hell do I change the back straps and the side?
After you remove the standard backstraps, the ones on the side will just slide out backwards.
So, if I want night sights, just get what fits Glock 17?
This is a little bit of an older video and they should have gun specific night sites for this pistol. But if you can't find any in stock I know that the front sight should at least be a Glock style. The rear sight if I remember correctly was the same as a Smith & Wesson M&P. And then you would want to make sure that the two different heights are compatible if you're buying the sites separately.
@@billyfreeman5803 Thanks! 😊
BTW: DO NOT HAVE A TRUCK GUN!! Keep your firearm(s) on your person at all times away from your vehicle. Criminals become *_armed & dangerous_* through people leaving their guns in their vehicles. And this serious issue is growing year by year.
