Good review. I have had my SAR 9 for about a 1 1/2 years. It is one of my favorite pistols. It is the size of a Glock 17. I just bought a ATI FXS-9 and it is my other favorite pistol. It is the same size as a Glock 45 which is a Glock 19 upper and a Glock 17 lower. Both pistols are 17 round and the one thing I like about the ATI is that it uses CZ 75b 17 round magazines. They are easy to find. The SAR 9 uses specific magazines just for it and for a long time I could not find any. As of late you can find them though. I have Glocks, S&W, CZ's, Tisas and other brands as well but My SAR 9 and my ATI FXS-9 are my most accurate and favorites.
I had seen a few of these but kind of kept going. But since I've seen this video and a few others I may have to give the SAR a try.I do know they make a really good revolver, the SR38.
They really messed up with the proprietary mags imo. If they couldve used glock, beretta or sig 226 mags these would sell like crazy. The sar9 mags are like $35
Sar 9mm also doesn't have a magazine disconnect which is the best reason to buy one over the sig. I once heard a case of a woman had a gun with a disconnect and her attacker got close enough to eject her magazine through struggle and she didn't make it because the gun wouldn't fire the only remaining bullet in the chamber.
The Sig doesn't have a mag disconnect. I don't think that any of mine do. My Bersa Thunder 380 did but I removed it. I wouldn;t want one, for the very reasons you mentioned.
@@rowdybroomstick6394 Yeah very few do. Not sure why they do. The Bersa does it, but it takes 90- seconds to remove. Love the Thunder 380, it's a $250 Walther PPK basically, but without the Walther slide bite!
Every Sig I have ever owned doesn't have a mag disconnect. I currently own a p250 and a p365 and neither of those do. And I just sold a p239 in 40 caliber, it didn't either.
Cool firearm! You have a point on modifications. I have a Kel-Tec that I bought on a lark because it was cheap and I was in Texas but didn’t have a firearm with me. I so happened to pass by a gun store ad bought the Kel-Tec P 11 I hated the trigger pull and the grip but the size, capacity and price was right. I bought the M CARBO UPGRADESfor it and it now shoots like a dream but I don carry it. Now everybody in the gun business has copied the formula and raised the price sometimes ridiculously! They have the nerve to act like keltec wasn’t first.
I like the gun (especially for the price), but you only get a one year warranty, and good luck with that. One of my mags is bad (different feed lips, and dimensions. It sends the rounds below the feed ramp, and jams the slide. SAR USA customer service doesn’t answer Emails, or phone calls.
This will soon be in my Gun safe. It has a rail for a light. Where I live in the country it gets dark enough some nights you can't hardly see your hand in front of your face. I have motion sensor lights but you never know what will happen so I use a tactical flashlight.
The only downside to tactical lights is that your opponent now has a reference point for your center of mass. They just have to shoot at the light. :-(
Probably one of the 2-3 best $300 full size 9mm pistols you can own. Yes the trigger is not the best but its $300 not $600. This pistol does all the important stuff to just about G19/PDP standards -- accuracy, reliability. Also has ambi safety so a nice home defense weapon, plus the interchangeable panels make it way more friendly to different hand sizes that the chunky monkey Glocks. Not sure why any gun safe would not have a SAR-9 in it. Its a go-to war gun. Not fancy, but its all there. The Turks dont fear the German and Austrian gun makers.
I would agree. It doesn't have the name recognition here in the US, but it's clearly a well made, quality pistol that would be ideal in combat or home defense. I would put it up there with other guns from Glock and Sig, in that regard. It doesn't have the aftermarket support that the other brands have, but its a pistol you could trust your life to.
@@americandreamcraftingandho1191 That's good to know, because the P320 mags are cheaper and easier to get your hands on... Couple aftermarket companies make polymer mags for it, so that should help him. thanks tot the tip!
I usually just black out the rear sight and put some orange nail polish on the front dot. Works pretty well for me.

Never tried any of their revovers, but I have had several of their pistols. SAR9, K2, B6P, etc... All were excellent.

Shine a flashlight on the sights and they will glow

@@Daves_Man_Cave that's good! Manufacture's can keep their disconnect's, I want my gun to fire no matter what!

I have had a Glock green sight fitted to my SAR 9: Works well: FYI...put in by a gunsmith
I don't mind the oem sights. But it is good to know that at least the rear is compatible with Glock sights...
A little tricky...But, a good gunsmith can do it (mine was $32 installed)

Yeah, its a very solid feeling gun and has some of the best ergonomics around.

Never had any issues with mine, they seem really well made
That was a good review. Thank you!
Great video thank you
I have one is great pistol loved

I didn't say I turn it on only when I need to.

Could you please tell me where did you buy the SAR9?
Georgia Gun store, a place up in Gainesville
Bought mine for $250 from PSA. Best gun for the money that I have ever purchased.
When did you purchase it?
P320 mags are compatible
Any modification needed? I just sold the SAR9 to a buddy, so that might interest him, I can pass that info along...
@@Daves_Man_Cave none what so ever. I shot with my friend who had a m18(320 variant) and the magazine seated properly with no feeding issues.

Does this shoot+p
I believe so.
