L’errore non inserisce il bloccasterzo e non mi permette il riavvio del Morore quando reinserisco la chiave. Insistendo parecchie volte uscendo ed inserendo la chiave tutto rifunziona. Ma da cosa dipende? Forse si deve fare la riprogrammazione della chiave?
This is What Im about to deal with now.. Car will Not Start Mercedes Dealer says if its Locked they will have to get new steering column. Then I watch this guy fix ESL.. Wow Where is your shop can i come to you.. ?
Hi, thank you for the video, can you please tell me were you can buy the motor as after taping mine, it has started working again, but i think the motor is weak, so want to replace it before it stops working altogether. many thanks

hi Every one it happen to me and i have try to get some quotes but every one is like taking advantage and asking 300 to 650 pounds but i decided to do it my self and ordered the motor and i will make a video and its so easy only 4 screws and then remove your ESL is steering is not locked but even if its locked just tap with a some thing on the ESL where motor is located on the ESL while Connected with the cable and it will work then there are videos how to open esl and dont need laptop or any thing to connect just replace the motor and put it back together and just connect the cable and try the key in the ignition and hala you will be surprised that how easy it is and these people on ebay and the garages asking so much money for this small job. i will make a video and i will upload, hope this will help if any one need help then just message me i will be more then happy to help.
Oh my gosh, I just did that - tapped a locked and unresponsive ESL with a hammer and hey presto, it unlocked! I can now do the simple job or replacing the motor.....Thanks Kamran!
Shemek Best this has happened to my car. Is the a diagnostic toll that I can get to ensure it is definitely an ESL issue? Secondly if I DIY this, where do you get the computer software to reprogram the new ESL with the key? Dani.lewis314@gmail.com

I just paid $1000 to replace the whole piece. Mercedes should hire you to test and fix this unit instead of making their clients pay such amounts for a 10 min. job. Such a stupid company will never buy from them again.
To be honest no car manufacturer does any repairs that involve replacing components , they always replace the whole module or part , they basically don’t refurbish anything so it’s not a problem with just Mercedes
this is why the newer Mercedes are crap. German engineers placed so much technical shit that would easily render their car useless and become money pit!!!
Yep! 19 years with my Toyota almost 300k miles, never failed to start... Almost all parts are original, only normal wear items changed when needed, belts, hoses, radiator, struts, ect, nothing expensive, most I can do myself in my driveway ... Still drives quiet and smooth!

had e250 cgi esl go but it was not locked still no start cost me 480 to put a brand new one in and the green key
