Hello, It would be good to see them used in the UK Police. I know in North Yorkshire it is suce a big area, by the end of each year the Police are saying they cutting back on patrols to save on fuel cost. Just a thought.
I have seen a Model 3 on the M4 around Bridgend and Port Talbot and I regularly see a Kia EV6 around Cardiff. Although since the police started getting rid of their BMW's they seem to mainly have Volvo's in South Wales.
It's a shame that Motability in the UK that helps disabled drivers gain independence through drivjng doesn't even have 1 Tesla on the scheme! Crazy...they are trying to get people in BEVs yet doesn't have the largest BEV maker on there. That even police departments are using now!!
@TeslaJigsaw yes I believe they said something like, "There are certain conditions that don't allow Tesla on the scheme; one of them is Tesla not having a dealership network!" That Motability needs a manufacturer to have a dealership! 😅 they said something like, "we can't work with their direct sales model" I asked a long time ago so don't quote me on that! 🤣
@@GWAForUTBE I can just see the officers calling for backup when sitting in 100 degree heat for hours, waiting for someone to do 41 in a 40.... With the AC blasting. That backup of course will be a gas/diesel generator.
So far, where police have incorporated EVs into their fleet they tend to use them for promotional work (community liaison). We’ll know that EVs are really arrived when they are used as the Highway Patrol fleet.
Promotional work for 20 EVs? They probably could use them for HP. It's just the highway that's the problem without enough chargers, the cars will do the job. Patrol cars aren't constantly moving. They do need to take lunch at some point. So for the 30 mins break they get during work, they plug in. Doing paper work in the car and they can plug in. It's just a different mind set. EVs will be great for Highway Patrols too. The acceleration means a lot of chases would end sooner.
@@colinwiseman Highway pursuits generally don't last hundreds of miles anyway so I don't see how range would be an issue for highway patrol. More often than not, the suspect vehicle either crashes or gets PIT maneuvered within 10 miles. If the chase really lasts long enough to make cops worried about EV range then there are serious problems with their operational procedures.
@@colinwiseman was referring to police forces around the world. Not this particular case study. Agree if police are going to match or better the acceleration of an EV during a suburban car chase, they are going to be in an EV. There is also a RUclips video where an ICE police car attempts to PIT manoeuvre an EV, but can’t because of both the EVs acceleration makes it hard for the police car be get into correct position & the EV’s weight/low centre of gravity

You are wrong on the safety side. If you have seen how they fall apart in minor traffic collisions you would think much differently.

These vehicles have a presence and kids love them , which in return acquires respect from kids 😊😊
Great one Will, must say I loved they way they were decked out, and surprise surprise, they wer very cheap to maintain. Who knew!
I’d love to see some Tesla police cars around!! How cool 😎
Tesla should offer a "Police Special" that has software limited performance to give the rest of us an edge. 😄
Jaguar Land Rover could have captured the market, alas the END is in sight 😮

Absolutely, great point
I pity the fool who tries to pit a Cybertruck in a lesser vehicle. 😂
really sad answer from the Leicestershire police, maybe today they have changed their mind, at least that's what i hope.
They’ll catch up eventually
Even a better idea in little UK very practical
Not just save money the cameras on the cars will help tremendously with solving crimes.
That was Super ))) Best car in the World

Tesla or nothing? What were they planning on doing otherwise? Walking?
Horses I suppose 🐴😂
only the Britts can see green but the usa still in the dark (oil)
America wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the Britts so they only have themselves to blame.
