Classic Game Room HD - FUEL review for Xbox 360

- Classic Game Room HD reviews FUEL for Xbox 360, Fuel is also on Playstation 3 PS3 and PC. Fuel is an arcade style driving game where you can drive around 5000 square miles of post-apocalypic, scorched earth and race in a variety of off-road style car races. This CGRHD review of FUEL has gameplay from Fuel showing game play of this arcade style driving game which is like Burnout Paradise meets The Road Warrior. Drive motorcycles, atv's, buggys, trucks and SUV's in Fuel. Race in challenge races, career races or multiplayer races. Customize your driver, find vistas and explore, Fuel gives you a lot of things to do with some clever weather effects, colors and challenging races. If you're a fan of Codemaster's Dirt and Grid, Fuel may not be the game you're expecting. But if you like biking games and ATV video games then you may really dig this one, or Burnout mixed with off road mayhem. Classic Game Room HD reviewed Fuel for Xbox 360 and PS3 as a PS3 and Xbox 360 reviewing driving games in HD like Fuel. Has the world's largest explorable environment, so they say. It's BIG!

This is the most underrated game ever. At least it got a world record for the largest video game map.
... on consoles. The game with the largest map to date is The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall at 62,394 square miles. It's as big as the state of Georgia. To put that into comparison, Fuel's map is 5,560 square miles. Yup.
Daniel Brennan I don't know, but wouldn't Elite Dangerous be the largest game ever? It has a 1:1 scale Milky Way galaxy.(100 000 light years across)
Daniel Brennan this is actually bigger I think you were watching the "top 10 biggest maps" video witch had many things wrong in it. The only thing bigger than this is minecraft but that is randomly generated. I saw this one guy who did all the research and said that fuel is 20x bigger than Dagger fall. Not sure if true but file is in fact bigger.
ihswap *Fuel
@@GoudaBug And still people arent aware of a game called MINECRAFT AND NO MAN'S SKY with the largest possible maps ever.
Watching CGR is more like hanging out with my cool uncle, talking about video games than it is like watching an internet review show
It would work so much better on next gen, maybe a remaster on next gen with randomly generated storms in free ride such as tornadoes and I think it would be what we all expected nearly a decade ago. Trust me, it would work this time around. Codemasters get on it.
I literally just played this game today, was thinking something like that. If my 360 can handle that massive game imagine an upgraded version on PS4/XB1.
@HXBES Well I don't have a PC so I don't really know what it'd look like.
This is what I exactly searching for. A racing game which includes dirt, bikes, cars and all kind of vehicles.
Just a heads up, the Motorstorm franchise on PS3 has this stuff and it's incredibly fun. There are 3 Motorstorm games on PS3 and they're all way ahead of their time.
@@magic3383motorstorm >> fuel
Best racing game for me... there needs to be a sequel !!!!!!!!!!
well those graphics for 2009 are good!
Steven its 2008. the game looks almost exactly like motorstorm Pacific rift which came out the same time. both are great games
Almost exactly?...hell no,Pacific Rift is way above Fuel.
@@DamianVega00 I hate people like you. Motorstorm is decent, you probably never even played it.
MrGameAndStuff lmao when did I comment this? What was I mad about 😂
I genuinely have no idea why people hate this game. The gameplay is challenging and very fun once you are used to it, the map is of surprisingly good quality gameplay wise considering its quantity, the vehicle variety is insane, the vehicle designs are cool, the artstyle is phenomenal, and it has a unique and distinguished vibe that was surprisingly notable despite many comparable post-apocalyptic games in the era.
They hate this game because it’s not some boring simulation racer that all these gamers and critics jerk off to. You should check out the game Nail’d. it’s another fun unrealistic off-road racer that’s just as fun as FUEL.
Because the in-game world is empty, and everything feels the same.
no doubt fuel was heavily inspired by mad max. its definitely one of the reasons why they called it fuel. in a world like that fuel is a very valuable resource. i think the title fits. one look at the box art and you Instantly know what kind of game it is. the fact that it's the biggest open world game that came out between daggerfall and Minecraft is just a sweat cherry on top of an excellent game.
FINALLY SOMEONE TALKS ABOUT THIS GAME, MY CHILDHOOD IS FINALLY TRUE, THE GAME THAT I LOVED AS A KID FINALLY GETS TALKED ABOUT!!!!!
He talked about it 7 years ago m8
David Hall and thats when i loved the game ;)
+David Hall What do you expect from a guy with the username OPminecraft ?
David Hall for fucks sake man its just a game i like, calm the fuck down
Donelle Lee i love this kid, hes like a brother to me. i just like to give him a rough time every once in a while cause it lets him know i care about him.
underrated, undervalued.
games like this and driveclub will only be appreciated by a select few gamers. the rest will either never even experience and most who do just wont get it. franchises like forza and nfs get all the attention when theres masterpieces such as this in the shadows.
I got this game in a bundle with The Force Unleashed. I forgot all about it and a year later I just randomly tried out the game and I was mind blown.
The most underrated console game ever. Hands down.
You could play this game with your buds an entire weekend and still see so little the game has to offer and have so much fun.
just downloaded it today for my 360. am looking forward to exploring the game map as i love open world driving games.
racefaceec90 flashed 360 yeh lol?
I love that its post apocalyptic and I like the music
Still love this game, thanks 14 year old me for leaving a comment
I was curious about this one, thanks for the review!
Excellent Review! I'm now officially interested in playing "Fuel"!
How awesome would it be if GTA and Elder Scrolls had maps this big?
Very true, but I'm talking about a modern game...especially the new (rumored) fallout 4.
@@scottwinfrey519 lol fallout 4 is out alread... wait. youtube. did you say this comment is six years old? talk about necroposting o.o
GIMME FUEL, GIMME FIRE, GIMME THAT WHICH I DESIRE!
Just be thankful he's doing reviews at all.
I just bought the game today for pc, i cant wait for playing this game tomorrow^^, thx for the great review
it is an amazing game
but still it is the most underrated game ever.
this game is fun as shit! its basically Flatout with bikes and ATV's and a really big ass map, good stuff.
Thanks for the impressions!
Lord Karnage Radio Drama It looks amazing !! Great review !!
anyone still play this game also 2021 anyone?
I do! I do indeed! Nothing like taking a 2 hour ride through the desert!
This game started out decent, then quickly went downhill. The handling on everything is pretty bad, and the AI can take turns much sharper and quicker than you can. I hit a wall with about 35% of the map unlocked, and I couldn't bring myself to suffer through it to at least go for one of the achievements I wanted.
Its 2018 and im still watching this
In 2018 i'm still playing this
My God, i can't tell in words how much i love this game. i discovered it last year (2018) and i'm addicted to it.
i love open world games and the map for this game is just so GIGANTIC. (14000 km2)
if i had to choose 3 games to keep with me i would keep GTA 4, FUEL and Need For Speed MW 12
To me Fuel is kind of a relaxing game or you can make it a tense one all at your own pace. collecting cars, seeing the progression of each category of vehicles grow with stronger performers.
Still, I can't help but wonder what a Fuel 2 would've been like.
if only this game had nitro and/or weapons
+Rekall _ It does have a nitro it just comes up when you pick up speed
Emilios Gregoriou
you mean the visual out of the exhaust?
***** Yes, however if you look carefully, the car accelerates faster when the exhaust visuals on. At least it feels that way for me.
Emilios Gregoriou
if you have to go as far as personally feeling something and looking carefully i dont call that a conceptual nitro boost (i have the game), there is no button that increases your speed by 10% or even less for that matter (burnout, need for speed, freestyle metal x, motorstorm ... pretty much every arcade racer) .. in the end it misses it imo. Even if the speed automatically increased by a conciderable margin when you reach a surthen speed that would be a horrible game mechanic.
They neeeeeed to make a fuel 2 or something for Xbox one. It would be the best game of the year.
i never said i diddnt want to watch it
i said that he is not the only one making these kind of vids
chill dude!
good review mate, keep on posting those reviews :P
You earn fuel by winning races? And that's the currency? Shouldn't the fuel be used to, I don't know, make the vehicles go?
Video game logic.
Elder Scrolls Daggerfall is the biggest.
***** Not everything, only environment stuff like trees if I'm not wrong. Towns, dungeons, and some areas are static. Arena is the one that is randomly generated.
***** Also there was a 1989 PC game set in post apocalyptic second ice age. From what I remember, the map was bigger than even Elder Scrolls Arena, it was the biggest video game map in history. Sorry I forgot the title.
***** That's okay, I've been looking for that game for a long time too. Still couldn't find anything.
This reminds me of Motorstorm.
Motorstorm is a extremely fun game, and I advise everyone to buy it if they have a PS3.
I mean it is so detailed and action-packed.
2023
still think this game was cool af, wish it had more to it
omg i remeber playing eve of destruction for hours, i loved that game!
Playing it for the first time as one of the final relaxing experiences I play before diving back into the deep end of Elden Ring for the DLC. Fully completed two map sections so far minus the skins and vistas. Managed to get the game to support 3440x1440 with a registry edit too so that helps a lot.
I actually drove across the map from one corner to the other, non stop, used the roads and timed myself, it took 8 hours!
liked how the tire dissappeared into the road at 7:20 :D
Watching this brings back a lot of nostalgia. There’s a lot of room for improvement with this title, especially with the soundtrack. I doubt it’ll ever be remade - but if it were I would be the first in line
Love how your tire clips through the road at the very end.
Love the game, lots of fun. It has a few flaws, but what game doesn't right?
If only it had a better crash system/damage system. Oh well, there's still hope for patches.
Smugglers Run was awesome.. and you're right, it reminds me of that a little bit too.
One of the best games i have ever played!!!!!!!
Cool review, nice looking game and wow that "play area" sounds big.
You make a great job i like your reviews
Im having a blast with this game. I was looking for a motorstorm type game
and this game fits the bill to a tee.
Looks pretty sweet, I might go out and rent this.
@Quartrez It may be the largest size wise, it is an entire country essentially, but as you said in your other reply its mostly empty space just with some areas to explore within them. Its not all open space you can just explore at your leasure, that would be amazing though. With Fuel we are looking at over 8.5 thousand quare miles of open terrain that is entirely open for you to explore. I'm not sure how much there is to Daggerfall, I'm sure its up there too, but 8.5k miles is ALOT.
i played the demo and you got a tiny little part of the map and that was huge!
I played this game, and put a review on my channel, but I wish I could be as happy as mark with this game.
Even though it is a arcade racer, I feel they could of heightened the sense of speed.
Also, its a huge map yes, but there is not much to do to compensate for that huge map.
I bought this game with the ATV offroad series in mind, and as much as I loved those games, this game just does not have the offroad type feel I was hoping for.
Still a great review though mark.
I love the title. such a humble title for such a collosal game
Seriously under-rated game. The Crew 2 just came out and this game has more to do than that one.
The map isnt the whole USA, its in the shape of the US and has a bunch of citys scattered around. One of the devs said in the fastest car and on the most direct route it would take 45 minutes to get from one side of the map to the other.
I LOVE YOUR REVIEWS YOURE AWESOME
the enviroments look really cool i loved the sand desert area
It pisses me off no one really recognizes or appreciates this game anymore. Up until some other games, it had things racing games didn't usually have. An EXTREMELY huge map to free roam on. A bigger variety of vehicle types. And ESPECIALLY the extreme weather. It is an instant classic in my opinion and is my favorite game EVER. This game needs to be more known.
2008 graphics? OMG. That graphics looks way ahead of its time.
I have to say the handling of the vehicles in this game takes a little time to get used to. But once you get the hang of it, the handling is a quite realistic. You can make a great use of techniques like opposite lock to counter oversteer slides and hand break turns. It gets quite fun to drive. Also different terrains give different amounts of grip. You're nicely planted on tarmac while sliding everywhere on ice!
Its an amazing game! And huge is an understatement to describe the world!!
Just bought this game for $2.50 and I'm loving it! So much freedom!
Yes. i have spent years wanting a simulator to be relised that actually has customisation to the cars. and not just stage 1-4 engine upgrades. all the games that start to look good turn out to be an arcade game. i also very much like simulators
Wow, I am so going to buy this game!
I had this game a few times. Really enjoyed it, but for some reason sold it again. I guess I'll go to the store tomorrow and pick it up again. It's only €7,- now...
One thing about FUEL that I really like: Its theme song, Burn My Shadow by UNKLE.
You are right, if they added a few weapons and rocket or jet engine vehicles....wooo....sick. Great looking game. Nice.
I loved this game as a kid
I've got this game, it would take me around 3 and a half hour to drive from the top of the map to the bottom. I call that massive!
thats a crazy big helicopter for a dirtbike :D
i was about to buy this it was in my cart im glad i watched this first thanks for makin it u jus saved me some cash n disappointment, for free it'd cool but not worth paying more than a few dollars for
man the quality is execrable
I came here after watching the Best of 2013 RT Recap.
I was disappointed wit the music thought it coulda been better but the game is so huge and detailed it;s really amazing, just fun to drive around from viewpoint to viewpoint
I love that tune at 0:08 Is it ur originally created tune?
Good & fast review. Btw. interploated resolution sucks :)
Man ur voice is relaxing!
I want this game now.
Don't forget that there are also tornadoes.
I just got this game for PS3 today. Its much better using a wheel and pedals for this. Driving around the vast wasteland using the wheel and pedals is amazing!
like he is the only one here on YT making reviews
for him 20 others
@ps3zocker1000 I actually agree. Motorstorm is still the king of off-road racing games. Esp Motorstorm Pacific Rift. But you gotta love having other off-road racing games to play as well. Sure they may not be as good, but it's nice to have variety.
the world IS that big. It got a Guinness world record for it. Its HUGE. Takes at LEAST 4 hours to drive across.
I think I might rent this today and see how long it takes to drive from the very bottom of the map to the top.
I think it's like "Pure" with a touch of the burnout series
Also, a new MOOR coming out for next gen called The Crew apparently takes place in the entire continental United States, meaning 3,119,885 square miles.
HOLY!!!! I GOT TO FIND THIS!!
i mean extremely BIG man and u can free roam like forever.I have open an event/race i have done in 3-4 hours and the views up on the mountains is so cool. And the Great Canyon and other zones are so beautiful.
Looks pretty good. I might get it.
Whenever i feel bored from other small games i boot up FUEL and just take a ride to one of the vista points
this game is f...ing awesome i love playing it on my pc and the truth is to an extent you can actually go out side the map so it really is bigger than they say
I respect you for mentioning Mad Max
man these reviews are so much better than IGN or gamespot. they arnt biased
@TheOneMetallica1 There is a unique addon for Firefox called Adblock Plus (a similar adoon exists for Chrome. Opera has a well working filter list). No more ads anywhere. I haven't seen any ads for years now and I'm very happy about it.
I like how they use the title Fuel as it feels like a Metallica reference.
Totally underrated game... a bit difficult to get into, but once you're used to it, there hardly isn't anything equal to this... huge landscape to discover, with sh*tloads of more or less crazy vehicles... I still love it, looks even better on pc!
Like motostorm apocolypse lol, although that had races with bikes vs trucks vs quads etc, does this have that?
@Quartrez I thought that most of the world size was just empty space that you would trek across via the map's travel system.
how do you get youtube full screen???
I like the hard core simulations (Forza, gran turismo), where you can race real races, on real tracks, and customize your car. And i mean truly make it yours with custom paint, rims, body mods, etc. And work your way up from the bottom, to the "gods" of racing. That being said, i'm so freakin getting this game :-)
Just bought it...Ill be changing it tomorrow.
You can do a lot of on road racing/driving too in this.
Actually i prefer driving on the road as opposed to off road.
The roads are more scenic and you have much more grip so you go much faster on tarmac in cars, which is fun and also sometimes the fastest way to get from a to b.
And this game is literally gigantic! It'll easy take upto 3-4 hours to drive from one end of the map to the other.
