- Following on from earlier clips [see playlist in the end screen], it was time to find out if the faulty fuel tap had been the sole cause of this machine's reluctance to keep going by attempting another road test.
When you know you know, well done Paul great fault finding and solution. Cannot buy that kind of expertise has to be earned. Thanks for posting.
I had a comment on a vid saying that my Bullet 500 sounds "knackered". Someone else corrected that error. I'm pleased to hear one in fine fettle and will redirect future detractors here for education.
It is amazing what these 'experts' can deduce from their armchairs - I wish I had their skills!
@@paulhenshaw4514 🤣
That's pretty slick. Amazing what a difference a bit of petrol makes, hey!!!
Magic 😮what a different bike now. Well done Paul and nice work 👍🏼
Thanks 👍
Hi Paul I have a 2003 R.E .Sixty 5 cast iron barrel 12v with electric start and 5 speed .
7 k from new I've owned it 3 years .
Love the bike but it's always been a cold engine .
Choke is an ON /OFF job .
Once warmed up a bit it runs fine but until then I also get the SPLUTTERING engine same as the 2 in videos.
One thing that interests me is the lifting of the carb needle a notch or 2.
Also you mentioned it improved the top end and removed the flat spot.
My RE seamed to run out of steam at about 60mph so another reason to think needle is set to low .
Engine is all stock .
I also heard you mention the mixture screw could do with a bit of a tweak towards Richer.
You have given me a guiding light .
Thank You.
I really enjoy all your videos. Rgds Ian
Looking and sounding good. I love it when a simple solution actually works.
Well done Paul , spotting the o ring problem
Sorted...
G'day Paul, well done the owner will be happy, you know when your Royal Enfield 500 is running right, when you catching the traffic and not holding it up, cheers mate ride safe, Neil 🤠.
That is one nice looking bike.🙂
I lost a piston on a big bore two stroke years ago due to a fuel tap issue very similar to this Enfield!👍
With it standing for so long not the outcome I thought. Simple issue with the Indian? fuel tap good job 👍
Very good sir. Thanks.
Sounded much better from the off.
I thought it might need a tank flush. I was wrong.
I was left with the impression of the front shock absorber having a little lively character... Or was it the saddle though.
Great
Emphatic.
It looked like a fairly “bumpy “ ride, was it the sprung saddle ( I’m thinking of getting one) or just the way the camera was mounted?
The saddle was probably responsible for that, although I have to say I found it quite comfortable.
There's some kind of clunking sound is it the shift or something else
It is just how the camera picks up and proccesses the sound, nothing I can do about it and only a tiny minority seem to comment or complain about it..
take a hunter paul, it sounds same as this
Sorry, but the new RE machines are of no interest to me.
Still sounds as if it is backfiring, timing?
That is all thanks to how my camera picks up and buffers the sound.
