  • Some footage of a visit to the NYMR. D7628 is running late on the first train of the day due to the failure of A4 Sir Nigel Gresley. After a quick run round at Pickering we were off on one of the fastest runs I have had on the railway. The video quality isn't brilliant, but sit back, turn up the volume and listen to the Sulzer sound as D7628 tries to make up as much time as possible.

Sure is sweet. Always loved the Rats. And the 2-tone green livery with yellow ends really suited them. Beautifully shot, too. Cheers!

Fantastic noise AND speed. The coach batteries'll get a good charge(!)
Small loco, long train & late running - best you could want really.

'Twas ever thus on BR :). Failed express loco, rat backed on the front and a thrashing good valiant but vain attempt to keep to type4 timings. Usually hours late but u always got there. And don't they sound fantastic :)
