Hi! Thank You very much for this review! It's well done and I enjoy it! 👍🏻 I had the EDC18 XP-L HI 5000K but think about to buy the FW21 because of the 21700 format which I like more than the 18650. I have one question, what's the diameter of FW21 driver!? It is the same like of the FW3A or EDC18??? Sorry for my bad English!
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Wooow! That was a fast answer! Thanks! Damm! My idea was, to put the new Lume1 into the FW21 but if the diameter is wider that will not work.
I just placed the order to some idividual seller from China and he/she didn't know if the ones he/she has got are from the 1st or 2nd batch. Luckily due to Chinese new year, there is a little problem with the logistics and the order ended up cancelled. If, let say there wasn't an issue with the tube length, is it one great light? Probably better heat dissipation than the FW3A?
My EDC nowadays is a Jaxman E3 with a nichia 4000K and I absolutely love the color but occasionally I need a higher output and I have been debating whether I should get the FW3A with the XP-L HI 5000K or the Emisar D4v2 with nichia 5000K? I want something with good battery life, flood and reliability,
for high power edc at that size and for the price, i prefer imalent dm35 or dm70 because it can handle more heat without stepdown in 3minute... 12second stepdown is too early but if not stepdown also the body get too hot till cant hold in hand..
FLASHAHOLICS -yeah I know but this version has those cool tritium slots and a 21700 battery will last much longer and still very compact. Gots to have it. I’ll just throw a magnetic spacer on the end if I receive one that hasn’t had the tube shortened. I better get to bed, I’m obviously up way too late if you’re answering me...Thanks for the quick response!
i ordered one from Neals, they sold it to me with a battery, i hope it fits cause thats going to be annoying if it doesnt. What batteries are compatible in 21700?
LUMINTOP DOES NOT HONOR THEIR “HASSLE FREE WARRANTY” the switch on my gt mini crapped out less than year. So I thought ok, I will just contact lumintop. After sending a video of the problem per their request and a couple emails later they said I would be receiving a new replacement around April 10....never got it. And they are not responding to my emails. If you go to budget light forum they talk about how lumintop blows off emails requesting warranty work. I never had this problem with other manufacturers like Nitecore, Fenix, and Acebeam when I had a warranty issue. Never buying Lumintop products again.
I'd say you get what you pay for, but I have many lumintop products for years now and use them every day, not one has failed on me. It must be the idiot operating them and not the fault of the manufacturer. They are made very well for the price, you try and make it yourself and do a better job, you can't. But if you want to spend insane amounts of money just in case something goes wrong and you need warranty, yes go buy a nitecore or something.. I don't care about warranty because I have gained the skill to fix shit myself.
Insightful review. The light? Not good enough. Battery issues, too floody beam and by far no 2800lm as promised . Lumintop please watch this review and do something about it.
All good points, but to be fair: 1) I've heard they've shortened the tube on newer lights to be less fidgety about the battery (although all of the FW series have been picky about batteries); 2) it's designed to be floody, not a thrower; 3) they were using an 18650 rather than a 21700 in the testing, which may have affected max output. My biggest issue is runtime...I'd rather have 1000 lumens consistently than 3000 lumens for 20 seconds.
dajolaw true. Hope Lumintop makes the proper adjustments. I know Lumintop as a good brand, I love the tool AA V2.0 for instance. A smart and versatile edc. The given output of 650lm is more a bright 700. The output of this light is by far no 2800lm. Also with that 18650 30Q, samsung. A well known high drain battery. Thats why I wrote ‘please Lumintop look into it’. And yes, I love a steady long lasting beam of 1000lm also above short bursts and a rapid heat up. But sell it then as it is, 2100lm.
It never ceases to amaze me that these flashlight manufacturers don’t have a freaking clue what cell to use in their flashlights!! Jeez!
In China QA means more money, less profit so they don't do that. It says QA passed but that's just a sticker, cheaper than doing actual QA.

It looks awesome and I’m a big fan of the FW3A , but a 21700 light that doesn’t fit a 21700 battery is useless !
