- Part 1 - Kia/Hyundai G4EE 1.4 liter gasoline engine block restore.
I bought a 2nd generation 2010 Kia Rio (JB) for junk price. Initially, it looked so bad that it seemed unfixable and not worth restoring. Rats have previously lived under the hood. The car did not have any major crash. Beneath the dirt, the panel paint looked fresh after thorough washing. Papers are all good. The engine looked like it was flooded previously. Many parts were taken down for selling as parts, but, luckily, only a few parts were missing.
Having a lot of car restoration experience, mostly DIY, this is actually an easy restore, especially not having a repair shop. This might be my daily driver upon finishing the project. I might continue with the 1979 Lancer after I get the engine running on the Kia.
