Are you phasing out song of the day
I bought both because the LP60 had a high tracking force and almost damaged my records.
LP120x still have to this day and is the best. LP120x should be the one for people to buy I wasted I think $400 for both record players.... Should of just bought the LP120x
(This happened two years ago and love my LP120)
Hi,
I'm Amarnath From India,
In making vinyl record, there are some technical doubts about the source audio requirements and groove of any size .
Can you please explain?
How to contact yourself.
Thanks.
Hey tried to reach out to you on Facebook and Instagram. Elusive Disc has the Sade complete collection on vinyl. Not sure if you’d seen that or not.
@Trenton Frederick how is this pertinent to Vinyl Eyezz videos?
"both of them are not crosley cruisers" 💀💀💀 really caught me off guard
BGBJIUTFFR 💀💀💀
@@garrettcarroll5808 I imagine it's waaay cheaper for a reason, and that your records probably don't like the abuse either ;)
I can't believe you missed possibly the biggest advantage of the 120.
Replaceable/Upgradable cartridge!
And the pitch issues of the LP60X, not spinning at the correct speed.
tehnically anything can be replaceable/upgradable if you know what you are doing
I have the 60 and I’ve replaced my cartilage ????
@@DarthMan2008 that was the biggest omission, IMO. I would have also liked to here more about the improvements of the lp120x over the standard 120 since pitch issues and motor noise were known problems with that table.
@@DarthMan2008 you can adjust that underneath!
The video everyone has been waiting for.
thank you for watching! 😄

If you can afford it, why not just go for the Technics SL-1500C? Peace.
You’re misinformed

I have an lp-60xusb turntable since last year. I love it. Keep spinning that vinyl!!!
Awesome! Great turntable AND with USB too! 😄👍
can you add record weight to the LP60x?
@@kauefortuna856 no. That's the 120
Same I have an LP60XBT turntable
I'd rather just get the LP60. Mainly due to the massive price difference in my country. I live in Australia and the LP60 is $215 while the LP120 is $519. I honestly don't think the LP120 is worth the extra $300
What I love about Audio Technica is they have good quality stuff for people that want quality, but dont have the money. Yes. They cut corners, but it's not like the dreaded Cruiser. While I am upgrading soon, I have loved my LP60 for a decade.
I got myself the LP60X about a year ago and I've been having a great time with it. I've never had any speed issues with it whatsoever and it fits me well. Also, I'm from Brazil and the price difference here is absurd. The LP120X costs about four times the price of the LP60X. I know it's no high-end turntable, but I have nothing to complain about it.
Thanks a lot, Jarrett. Keep spinning!
Wow! Didn't know the price for the 120X would be so vastly different over there! Glad you're happy with your LP60X though! Enjoy!
@@vinyleyezz God bless you!
I got myself a lp60x and it was perfect for the price, and I got it second hand brand new, I’m also from Brazil hehe
Another thing that might be important is speed accuracy. The LP60X doesn't have any way to keep speed in check, so it may drift a bit , while the LP120X has quartz lock (and a strobe) to keep itself at the perfect speed.
Does it do that automatically?
I use my LP60 every day. The auto stop at the end of a record is really useful.
The manual turntables aren't that hard to use either
It sucks for jack white's lazzertro and sgt peppers inner groove on side 2
@@willstarbailey i wondered why the inner groove at the end of my sgt peppers was weird
@@willstarbailey yes i always forget about lazaretto and i’m confused for like a second and then i realize i’m dumb. love that angel light configuration on that record as well!
@@mathiasgustavsen2312 no one said it was.
I have an lp60x. Great choice for a first turntable. Relatively cheap and really good quality
Definitely better than any suitcase turntable
I started out with collecting vinyl over a year ago and the LP120X was my turntable of choice. Very nice turntable and I enjoy the manual operation in a weird, vintage way.
It's definitely a satisfying feeling to line up the needle, drop the cue lever, and hear the album spring to life
Very true, the ritual of putting on a record for me also includes the satisfying slow drop by the lift, the needle gently touching the record with all its two grams of tracking force.
@@MeriaDuck Haha, mooi man.
I’ve got the LP-120 and I’m never turning back!
great choice! 👍

Song of the day: Down In It by Nine Inch Nails
Hi, Jarrett, from what i found on the internet, at-lp120X comes with a prealligned cartridge too. So it's not that difficult to set up as well.
I have the 60. It suits my needs for the money. Its strange, but back in the day(70's-80s) almost every turntable I came across was automatic. Strange how most are manual today. I really dont understand why though. Heck, I had 2 players back in the 80s that had the metal pole in the middle and you could load 3-4 records on it and when one got done, it played the next one. Dont see many of those around anymore either. As a matter of fact, do they even make new ones with that feature??
Have been trying to look for these as well. They seem super handy. Love the designs of those ones from decades ago!
those automatic record switchers have gone out of fashion now, since vinyl is more about collecting these days than just having a way to listen to music, people don’t wanna drop their records in fear of them getting damaged
@@ando2421 kinda sad, I thought it was great
@@retromediaguy yeah, especially the albums that were designed to be used on a switcher
Just got my lp120x a couple of days ago. Loving it
Started with the 60x and then later upgraded to 120xUSB which is what I have now. I love(d) both, and I bought the 120xusb mostly because I loved the design of the strobe light, the quartz gauge, and the manual tonearm, but the 60 is definitely the best starting point for any beginner. 120xUSB should be the next step up if you're looking for it.
Song of the day: Talk Talk - After the Flood
I have both the lp60 and lp120. Both are great tables in thier own right. The lp120 I use to digitize my vinyl and the lp60 is in the living room for daily listening. People feel more at ease when they see how easy it is to get a record playing. Everyone has said the lp60 sounds amazing with a good record so dont feel bad if you only get the lp60. The only minor thing if any is the lp60 may skip more on imperfections. But even on Daft punk albums it plays without issue. Had both 3 years now.
hello what is your opinion on lack of counterweight..can it damage vinyls?.. i am consider lp60 as my first turntable
the guy at the record shop basically told me lp60 was crap, so i felt like i wasted my money but im glad people are enjoying their lp60
3.5g weight in my scale. In audacity it does got up to 20khz if the record has that high of notes. So is it premium? No. But is it a awesome first or supplement table? Yes.
@@chip48 It won't damage vinyl. The LP60 and 60x do have counterweights implemented into the tonearm by use of a spring. The tension of these springs are good and only bear a tracking force of a little over 3 grams which is ideal for tonearms of this type.
@@navroop121 Yeah, well he just wanted you to spend more money, you know that. The LP60 and 60x have sold incredibly well, and really, they're more like middle of the road turntables rather than true entry level, and the 60x even has designed improvements over the original.
Song of the day oasis-live forever
I originally purchased an LP60x and loved it until I realised it spun a little too fast, highly noticeable when compared with spotify etc. I returned it and opted for the LP120x because it had speed control, but I didn't need it because the speed was calibrated perfectly. I'd definitely recommend the 120x over the 60x
you must have been unlucky and got a defective turntable or something. i have an lp60 and the speed is perfect.
I have a LP120X USB, I give it another point because it has a pitch adjustment
Absolutely, especially since the LP60X spins too fast.
@@willgregg1076 Is this a common problem? Recently I noticed my LP60X was spinning faster than normal and even though you can barely notice that the pitch is higher, it still bothers me a lot and I wonder if this is something that didn't only happen to me.
@@oldbrownshoe isn’t there a manual adjust for the speed on the bottom of the turntable? You should be able to correct it yourself if you’re having that issue.
I thought I noticed that when I listened to the it's to the LP60x verses the Fluance RT 81 in a review but to answer another commenter yes there is a speed adjustment under the turntable but without a strobe you'll probably need a Mat Stroboscope.
It seems like the LP120 is so much better record player, but the LP120 is very expansive here, the different is alot bigger, so either I will wait like 2 month more and just maybe I can afford it or I can buy one now, which mean it will be the LP60, or is it any other record player that are better in that price range? greetings
The LP120X-USB’s direct-drive motor has a cogging issue that can be heard in quiet music and between tracks. Trust me, it’s annoying. I solved it by adding an A-T Disk Stabilizer weight (AT618a), but the LP120X-USB has since been retired in favor of a Fluance RT85 belt-driven table. For the money, I like the Fluance far better.
DISCLAIMER: I don’t represent any company, and my opinions are based on my own experiences.
I would have thought AT resolved the cogging issues with the new X and 140XP
@@manFromPeterborough: One hopes so, but I'm not going to get one to test and compare. I have a terrific Fluance RT85 that is my go-to turntable.
The video was a cool comparison but I thought the whole point competition part was kinda silly because it weighted stuff like “the variety of colors” and “The Preamp” as the exact same value
Thanks for the comparison! I'd like to add the 120 has Pitch adjust, and it's "quartz timed." Meaning if one is 'pitch-error' adverse, then consider the 120. My 2015 120 is still going strong, and I don't have noticeable 'rumble' from the direct drive motor.
I hate my Lp120xusb , because it makes Buzz and Hiss noises ,but its full grounded.
I've moved to a 1200 MK4, no more buzz
If you cant decide between the two get the audio technica lp3. It is the best of both worlds. With the lp3 you get a counterweight and an upgradable cartridge, you also get the ability to use moving coil cartridges. it is an automatic belt driven turntable, but it also comes with a cue lever if you want to cue the record yourself.
His voice is relaxing...😌

Got a 120 a few years ago on your recommendation. Still loving it today. Cant get enough of it. Even got a 78 stylus for it so i can get the full benefit. Cracking turntable!
I've moved onto a 1200 MK4 after the 120, no mains buzz and motor rumble and rock steady speed and accurate tonearm geometry which means the cart not need be twisted in slightly
I’ve had the LP60X for a couple years now and it’s perfect for me and my needs.
My daughter has a 60 in her room on powered speakers. I have a 120 in the basement for digitizing old 45s, and I have an LP7 on my main system. AT seems to consistently maintain a high standard on every level of product. I am very happy with all of them.
I actually just bought the 120 a few months ago. Compared to my last player, it's an absolute dream and then some. I've never had more fun listening to my records. And it sounds so good as well. I absolutely love it.
same here!
I don't understand why you would want a USB on a turntable. The whole idea of turntable and this new rise in it is to get away from compressed music. There's nothing better than putting an LP on and just grooving or zoning out. Just enjoy the music.
I have a 60x, its very good and I heavily recommend it to someone who wants something cheap that can long term play their records.
Song of the day: Chicago by sufjan Stevens
Can you do a video about manual and automatic operation? Also can you suggest a wide array of automatic record players?
Song of the day - The Remedy by Puscifer
Love my 120. SOTD-Phil Collins, I Don’t Care Anymore
Enjoy it! Hope you're spinning some great records today!
i got myself an lp60 for 2 main reasons. the lp60 is much cheaper and so is the stylus. the other reason is because lp60 is automatic. i dont want having to keep move the arm each time i listen to my vinyl and having to check when the arm gets at the end of the vinyl to remove it from there. i been using my lp60 for 2 years and it works great.
My LP60X will arrive today from Amazon. This video came out just in time. This will be my second turntable since last november I bought a Crosley Cruiser rip off (yeah, you read that right) which just stopped working this week.
It wasn’t even a “genuine” POS Crosley?
@@KingRiverVlogs No, it was a "Byron Statics" suitcase turntable. I bought it for 800 Mexican pesos, less than 50USD. I had it coming, haha.
Many people love vinyl for the additional haptics and having a manual record player even adds another layer of physical interactivity. Makes the whole experience even slightly more engaging and therefore more fun. ✌
You can do that with the LP60 too. It has the start/stop button but if you don’t want to ise it go for it
The LP120X can play those 8 inch 78s with the tiny label in the center, due to being fully manual. Automatic turntables stop half way through on those 8 inch 78s, which isn't helpful.
I’ll never trust automatic turntables
I'd love to hear your oppinions or even reviews on the ATH-LP30 and ATH-LP40. There're so many mixed opinions on them on the internet and it seems that LP-60 and 120 are the only models by AT you mention, like they are the only ones and others don't exist😅 Not that much of a critique, just a heads-up.
you should review the sony ps lx310bt
So a 12 inch record can be played at 33 and 45 rpm with no prob??
I had a chance to use my nephew's LP120x to compare to my LP60, and I was surprised by what I valued in each of them. With the LP120X, speed adjustment was an absolute breeze, so I had great confidence that I was listening to records at the exact right RPM. But I was surprised how much I missed the automatic stopping of the LP60; I had grown accustomed to not having to get up when the side was finished. In short they're both great, but the LP60 appeals to my laziness in ways I hadn't expected.
Love my AT LP 140x 😘
I love my 140XP too!!!
The AT-LP60XUSB is the way to go for ANYONE getting into record/vinyl music !!!
Here’s a story about me that started into listening record music , 3 months ago .....
I started with a Crosley , in less than 24 hours, I got myself the AT-LP60XUSB, and pair it with the Edifier R1280DB active speakers !
In the months to come, and thanks to all the endless nights of watching you amazing Channel, I add on a Rolls V29 pre amp, upgraded all the interconnecting cables to CANARE wires, a white acrylic mat, a record weight, gotten approximately 40 12” and 7” records and religiously clean ALL my records , before / after playing and also my stylus !!!
Thank you 🙏🏼 so much for all the valuable and amazing tips , information and reviews !
song of the day : elvis presley - don't be cruel
Fell out of my chair laughing when they both got points for not being Crosley Cruisers! 🤣
Jerrett, I have a confession- I watched your channel six years ago and was fascinated, and came back to stay about 2.5 years ago, but I've yet to buy a turntable to this day!
I own a few vinyl records from my childhood (inherited from family) and would love to listen to again one day. My husband has a box of vinyl we both forgot about that we were sorting over the weekend, but he does not own a turntable either. He is planning on selling a lot of his vinyl. But if he expresses any interest in playing any of it, I'm going to send him to your channel or put on some of your videos for us to watch together! Especially if some of his records are ones we can keep... that I could play!
I saw an Audio-Technica LP120X USB online here in Canada in black and ROSE GOLD that kinda pulled at my heartstrings! 😍
Regardless of what I own or don't own, I LOVE your channel Jarrett, I love your content, and you are my absolute favorite vinyl enthusiast out there! Thank you for consistently doing such a phenomenal job with your work!
Fawn 😊
I had both turntables, out of the box the difference in sound between the two models are minimal, even the LP120 comming with a more expensive cartridge, i really like the sound of the 3600 (even Rega models that costs more the LP 120 uses this cartridge). The advantage is really the LP 120 upgreadbility, but if all you want is listen to music and not care with adjustments and upgrades the LP60 is a better choice (and comes in red 😎).
This was super helpful thank you
You can upgrade the cartridges on the Lp60x to my knowledge, at least according to the website anyway
Lp120. It has more options. I like doing stuff manually.

How the heck Amazon sell 120x for 399 not 250,any link i could buy it?
I think the price fluctuates based on how many Amazon has in stock at any one time, if you give it a few days they’ll probably get more and the price will go back to normal. 👍
I gots me an lp60 and I thinks I'm gonna keep it
I've had mine for 3 years and still live it, just replaced the stylus too.

The 120 (with the added Bkuetooth 5.0 headphone connectivity) is a strong combination. My only knock against the 120 is the platter wobble. Audio Technica says "in spec."
I just started collecting vinyls 2 weeks ago and thanks to your channel I've been learning a lot, seriously thank you man. Btw I got both Lazaretto (and I cannot wait to see that angel spin) also I found a Portishead's Dummy and from what I heard on spotify I really cannot wait to hear it on vinyl. You could get the LP60 if you don’t care about the fancy schmancy extra features that the LP120 comes with. The 120 is a 3-speed DJ turntable with skate correction, the LP60 is a 2-speed turntable which is more basic.
Can you do more versus battles of turntables in the future?
Song of the Day: Fear & Delight - The Correspondents
Great video, as always. My first turntable was the AT-LP3, which is very similar to the LP60, but I was getting annoyed with the automatic function and found I wanted more control when I played a record so I upgraded to the 120X USB and I absolutely love it.
You should do a review on the Heyday Turnable from Target, I just got one and I’d like to hear your opinion about it.
Of course this is oriented to the casual budget conscious minded, but if you can stretch your budget a bit further, get an Audio Technica LP5!!!
Why? The build quality is incredibly robust, and secondly, it performs like a turntable of around double it’s price tag. Only reason to get a 120X is for the “DJ effects”.
I HATE beltdrive turntables I’ve never had a problem with my LP120X motor sounding
Went for the 120X for the better quality and upgradable cartridge and needle. Also, the amp I already had is silver; really liked the silver look 🤣.
The cartridge came installed and with needle installed from the factory. I saw in your setup guides that you may have to do this, but to me that seems to be done quite well.
It is still useful to have your setup video as a reference for whenever I need to exchange the needle or upgrade the element.
why do we even still have belt drives?
The biggest thing is to reduce motor rumble
So I am new to LPs, unless you count the read-along records when I was a kid. I'm still deciding between the ATLP60XBT-USB and the Sony with similar features. Now I don't own a turntable yet (just got LPs in the Linkin Park Meteora 20th Limited Edition). I'm not sure if this video is out of date but there is the AT-LP60XBT-USB which gives you bluetooth and USB options. Prices must have gone up though. The standard LP60X is still ~$150 but the LP120X is $350 everywhere. The LP60XBT-USB is about ~$280. There is the LP60XBT for $220. I think I'm going with the LP60XBT but the LP60XBT-USB would allow me to create MP3s for travel.
My LP60X has been a great turntable. I’ve had it since December of 2019. The only issue I have with it is the tonearm slams down on my records so I have to manually lower it
Easy, the 120 is a technics clone. And the closer your TT is to Technics, the better. On top of that, while "most high end use belt" this is purely for aesthetics and to perpetuate the myth that direct drive is bad. DD isn't innertia drive. There is no vibrations and the speed will always be more constant than a stretching, wearing out belt.
Do both have the ability to use an external pre amp?
I don't own an LP60, so I can't comment on its feature set, but the LP120 features a manual "Phono"-"Line" switch that allows you to bypass the internal pre amp
Finally bought the LP60x and I couldn’t be more happier with my purchase 😭
I've got the older LP-120 USB that I've upgraded with a cork mat and an Ortofon 2M Red. What changes, if any, did Audio Technica make with this new LP-120X model?
I'm 15 but I order my first turntable and It's the : audio technica lp120 x USB!!!!!!!!!
1: Some harsh remarks from hi-if fans I’ve had for giving the 120x turntable a thumbs up on other vids. ‘It’s made by the same company that make £50 stuff, the top chassis is plastic, it’s not weighty enough, “I give up, enjoy your junk” etc.
2: My personal experience. I own a great dac/headphone amp and a pair of £300 open back headphones, last night I played the highly regarded 2015 hi res remaster of the album ‘Forever Changes’ by Love. I then payed the equally highly regarded vinyl reissue of that album on the 120x. Aside from some low surface noise on quiet musical sections the level of detail was very close to the hi res transfer from the original master tapes that the hi res compatible dac/amp is processing. This is from the TT stock stylus and inbuilt pre-amp.
As such I’ve ignored others telling me I’m ‘wrong’.
I've only own the lp60 and I've had for a few years works great. The lp120 looks nice.
Enjoyed the comparison. I'm having a difficult time understanding why the 60's color options were worth the same point value as the 120's heavier weight and superior cartridge.
Great video I would also recommend both tables. I am still a technics person i own an Sl-1100a from 1971 and a 1210m3d(european import still works in Usa),but if i did not have them this is where i woulda started. Also forgot i do have an automatic table a technics Sl-qd33 if i wanna listen at night i use this table so if i fall asleep it will auto shut off
Gotta say I'd decided a long time ago that my next turn table will be the 120x anyways. What I have now is adequate enough for my needs, I won't say what it is but its not a crossley. But I will need to upgrade soon as money allows. Either way though, cheers for the video jared. Song of the day suggestion TOOL pretty much any of their songs.
what is it because im looking to get my first player tomorrow most likely
Got my LP60X about a month ago and it's very simple and nice to use.
You ignored the fact that the LP-120X has Quartz lock, which guarantees stable platter rotation at exact speeds, adjustable pitch control and adjustable anti-skate, and a built in strobe and light. You should be adding 4 more points to the LP-120X score.
2:46 the LP120X also comes in a rare bronze color (Best Buy Canada exclusive)
Hi jarret, i have 1 question about lenco tt 11, is this gramophone bad as crosley or is good...

Have just bought the 60 XBT version, my first turntable, any suggestions for speaker around £100 anybody ? Thanks
Cool comparison personally though I’m pretty happy with my gloss white pro-ject debut carbon evo and klipsch r-15 pm speakers😎.
Can’t go wrong with that combo! 😎👍
Hey I just wanted to say I love your channel I collect records myself :) and I’m only 10😁 love collecting vinyl
My score: LP60X = 9 (color doesn't matter to me), LP120X USB = 12 (replaceable cartridge does matter to me).
Since I have no desire or patience for anything fancy and am just lazy, I'll just go with the 60USB.
Does ATLP120XBT has auto stop function?
