    Really liking the sword and buckler stuff. Clear and concise, well demonstrated.

    Excellent. Can you say a little more about the pros and cons of reinforcing the parry (0:32)?

      Hi. The arms and armor swords are very good but i find them a bit pricy. the one im using in this video was a price won at a tournament. It moves very well and has great blade presence but it is expensive.

      I should probably also add that this belongs to Lee. it was his prize from a tournament

    Hallo. It looks like fencing in false timing (the foot needs to be moved before the sword can reach it target) and the distance between the fencers is to small. The Sturzhau is missing.

    I love* my Cold Steel buckler

      Sure it's not pretty and Historical, but it's light weight, handles well, cheap, and ridiculously durable.

    • @stephenkime5946

      The Best thing about the cold steel buckler aside from its low price and durability is, it will not hurt the steel trainers. particularly with sparring. This will actually maximize the life span of your steel arming or side sword. overall making it a much better investment then a steel buckler

      @@stephenkime5946 i never knew that! i don't use steel trainers. I have a plastic Gladius I use instead. But thats good to know if I ever decide to switch to steel

    What kind of sword is that?

    • @ofsabir
      @ofsabir 4 года назад +1

      The simpler one is an "arming sword" , other one with more complex hilt is a "side sword".

    • @ant9610
      @ant9610 4 года назад

      @@ofsabir thanks! Would these techniques work with a rapier by any chance

    • @stephenkime5946
      @stephenkime5946 4 года назад +1

      @@ant9610 Not exacly. rapiers have characteristics that make these techniques very difficult. That being said Rapiers do Excel at many things that an arming sword is very poor at. I would recommend watching our latest video on creating a wedge for a good example of rapier specific drills. :-)

    In medieval movies swords , spears and arrows always and very easily penetrate armor. Why do you think armor was used in real life then ??

    • @radhummingbird97
      @radhummingbird97 3 года назад +2

      Because it actually worked. Movies rarely ever portray the effectiveness of armor in a way that's historically accurate

      The armored fighting man was developed to break spear lines
