Prideaux Haven - Desolation Sound

This video starts and finishes in Laura Cove, joined at high tide to Prideaux Haven by a gorgeous one kilometer rocky channel that we dubbed “the Alley”. Together with Melanie Cove, all three coves are generally referred to as Prideaux Haven.
The area consists of dozens of small islands and rocks, together with many smaller inlets and channels, all surrounded by towering majestic mountains, some of which are still capped with snow in mid July.
We avoided sailing to Prideaux Haven for years because it seemed to be over-hyped and was always crowded… but now we can see why: it’s so stunningly beautiful that being there feels magical ! I hope this video captures some of that beauty.
