Plumper’s Cove - Howe Sound BC
Plumper’s Cove on Keat’s Island is a BC Marine Provincial Park. This sweet swimming and camping spot, just a kilometer from home across Shoal Channel, is a great place to tie up when the Strait is too rough to sail.
Plumper’s Cove is a good spot to launch the drone to take a tour of the neighbourhood. The quality of this video is not exceptional, but the content - the beautiful land and sea scapes of southern Howe Sound - is world class ! [v120|2:30|2024-08-30]

Просмотров 2953 месяца назад
This video starts and finishes in Laura Cove, joined at high tide to Prideaux Haven by a gorgeous one kilometer rocky channel that we dubbed “the Alley”. Together with Melanie Cove, all three coves are generally referred to as Prideaux Haven. The area consists of dozens of small islands and rocks, together with many smaller inlets and channels, all surrounded by towering majestic mountains, som...
Copeland Islands

Just a few kilometers north of Lund BC (at the top end of Hwy 101, which extends from Lund down the west coast of the Americas to Terra del Fuego!), the Copeland Islands are bursting with beautiful scenery and wildlife habitat. Designated as a Marine Provincial Park situated at the north-east corner of Georgia Strait (aka the Salish Sea), and separated from the mainland by a 250 meter (800 foot...
Niagara Falls

The mighty Niagara Falls is famous for its beauty and is a valuable source of hydroelectric power. Balancing tourist, commercial, and industrial demands has been a challenge for the stewards of the falls since the 1800's. The iconic Horseshoe Falls is featured in this video. Here are some measures of its size and might: - Horseshoe Falls is almost 60m (200ft) high, and is about 800m (2,600 ft) ...
Sandy Island 2024

Sandy Island is the archetypal Caribbean island: ! - a beautiful smooth sandy beach extends the entire length of its leeward side - coral reefs and a couple of warm lagoons adorn its windward side - palm tress and other lush vegetation cover much of its sandy surface Sandy Island is about 500 metres (1600 feet) long from end to end, but only 20 to 50 metres (60 to 160 feet) wide. It is situated...
Carriacou Island Tour

A little look around the island from Hospital Hill, including the names of some of its many special places. Most of the place names came from local knowledge - my own and that of a few friends - but these were verified and extended with the help of two maps. Those map images are available here: Map 1 - Colour: drive.google.com/file/d/1Lh1FhkM64bOefEgZD_QoSMFgxoHP6qYl/view?usp=drive_link Map 2 -...
Paradise Beach Club - Carriacou Grenada

We were there on opening night when my friend Alison launched her restaurant with a couple of picnic tables on the beach. That was 5 years ago... now she has a thriving business with many loyal patrons from all over the world that come by boat, by car, and on foot to feast at her tables and listen to great live music. Colombia - Cascada La Periquera
Просмотров 489 месяцев назад
Continuing my Colombian adventure, my good friends Beto & Fanny took me to this ecological park to enjoy its natural beauty and participate in what turned out to be an exhausting hike down to the third waterfalls and back up... but the natural setting made it worthwhile, and we got to cool off under the cool rushing waters of that third waterfalls. :o) Cascada la Periquera is an impressive 16m ...
Curaçao - Santa Marta Bay
Просмотров 789 месяцев назад
I got to experience Curaçao [“Kure-a-soh”] for a two day stopover between flights from Colombia to Grenada. Stayed at Boka Sami but hired a car to drive to the northwest part of the island to explore Santa Marta Bay. Unfortunately it was way too windy (~15 knots / 28 kms) to attain adequate altitude for a better shoot, but on the plus side, I very much enjoyed the company of the (Colombian-born...
Colombia - Family Farm, Cisneros
Просмотров 1289 месяцев назад
This family “farm” (like a cottage or cabin in Canada) is set on a hilltop in a beautiful area near Cisneros, Antioquia. A modern day Garden of Eden (without any nasty snakes :o) with 12 acres of productive tropical fish pools, exotic fruit trees, and magnificent views of mountains and valleys in every direction. And just 200 or 300m away from an awesome cascada (waterfalls) with refreshing lit...

El Mortiño - Colombia

My new friends Beto & Fanny (aka my Colombian Cousins) live in this semi-rural area about 50kms north of Bogota. I had the pleasure of staying with them for a week, enjoying their tremendous Latino hospitality, and helping each other learn our respective first languages. In particular, I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast talks in the garden, and heading out on day trips to see the sights (some c...
Colombia - Laguna de Guatavita
Просмотров 2109 месяцев назад
The Guatavita Lagoon is a small body of water in a forest-fringed crater, northeast of Bogotá in central Colombia. The name of the lagoon is derived from Chibcha, the language of the indigenous Muisca people: gwa: mountain or or gwatibita: high mountain peak; hence, a pool at a high mountain peak. The lagoon was one of the sacred sites of the Muisca, who cast elaborate gold offerings into its d...
Colombia - Monserrat, Bogotá
Просмотров 699 месяцев назад
Continuing my Colombian adventure, I got to visit the capital city of Bogotá, staying with new friends that were gracious hosts and excellent tour guides. This was our first stop. Monserrate is a high mountain over 10,000 feet high adjacent to the city center of Bogotá. It rises to 3,152 meters (10,341 ft) above the sea level, where there is a church -built in the 17th century - with a shrine, ...
Not to bad.
Thank you, this is very well done
Clear instructions , great design. Thank you.
Excellent design. One change I would make, the reinforcement piece on the hinge side (at 5:25 in the video) should be mounted on the inside face of the legs. That way the shelf is supported on both sides and not reliant on the hinges.
That’s a good idea but it would mean the legs don’t fold right up against each other.
Great memories of THE CLUB,let me know if and when you are open again .By far the best view in carriacou with the friendliest staff.
Gorgeous!!! I miss BC - and sailing with Tony!😢
Is that you Jason Suggitt ??
I live across the street from Peter and Holly in their Canadian home. Guess I should visit them in Carriacou!
Alphabeticalise in addition, genius, my mind has been regained at just the prospect🤣🤔Great video rich with tips & entertainment, what a great neighbour having Gandalf at hand.
thank you for sharing
I built a pair of saw horses using the metal things from the hardware store where you just cut your 2X4s and insert them. Doesn't fold and I want them to so I'll built new horses like yours. Nice, easy and better than what I have now.
Hello It's been more than 6 months. I live in Dawson City, I came to the frost🖐🖐🇨🇦🇨🇦👍👍
Thank you.
Beautiful video. Thank you for sharing. 👍1
great project and design! Thank you for sharing.
Excellent design - I'm going to use it....
Ok Tony I decided to build a set of your sawhorses.i spent 40 yers plus as a maintenance and Construction mill wright. I have to admit that by looking at your plan and completed product I’m impressed at the design.and after working my way through the process I wonder if you did this video for you and your buddy’s entertainment? I enjoyed working through the dimensions and watching the video many times to catch each location of the hinges and braces and details. But this is not for someone who is not stubborn there more complex than they look for location of the tips of the boards on the hinges what part to put on when and all I have to say is don’t be in a hurry and it could be the funnest but perhaps frustrating project. I have much more time on the first set than I saw coming just stopping and evaluating the next step. But all in all a very fun and rewarding project.
Thanks for your feedback Lance. Glad you got your sawhorses done but sorry to hear it was a complicated process. Did you use the plans and instructions provided with the link in the video description ?
Beautiful place. Thank you for sharing.
we are going to take the girls there on our next visit. wanna come?
Sure ! (as long as it’s not wintertime 😊)
beautiful place and the blue tones of the sea make it majestic
Mother Nature is the most wonderful artist.
Nice music and lyrics. There is way too much drone footage although it is well piloted. The video is lacking the colourful and "architecturally" interesting local buildings, the boat yard, local people, businesses, the cemetery and more. Then it would be about windward.
Thanks for the tips! But the video and music is specific to D’Pearl - the little yellow house in the center of most of the video, made for the owner who is a friend. I’ll put this in the description.
Loved the video. Enjoy the rest of your stay in the Grenadines and beyond 😅
Thank you Hazel. It was wonderful to meet and chat with you. Remember to contact me if you ever make it to the Vancouver Canada area ! We’ll go sailing !
You are a very creative person. Your work inspires other people to do similar creative work.
Gracias por dejar huella en nuestro rincón del mundo
Looks so volcanic…, but salt beds collapsing. Interesting. And good on you for capturing it!!
Just stunning. And fascinating. What a family farm!! Relatives?? I loved seeing the pronounced valleys … all of it.
It's so scenic! Does your mavic have a function that lets it stay centered on a point of interest? Is that how you're keeping things like the farm in the center of the view as the drone flies around it? Or are you doing it manually?
Exactly ! It's an intelligent flight mode actually called “Point of Interest”. You define the center point and the radius and optionally the speed... the drone does the rest while you control the camera angle and optionally adjust the speed and altitude. I’ve done this manually but never as smoothly :o)
What a beautiful video Tony, you are welcome whenever you want, thank you for sharing these beautiful images, this will be your garden of Eden.
Many thanks “Yudi” for giving me this (and future) opportunities. Ox
I was going to say that it looks like a meteorite crater. Is it freshwater or is it saltwater? It kind of seems like it should be salt water if it was created by the dissolution of salt deposits underneath. What feeds it?
Hey @Philip Bonnici you are one of the few that reads the description ! 😆 The laguna is like a giant rain barrel. The water could be salty yes but I don’t know. We were not allowed to go near it. Actually drones are not even permitted over it, but fortunately I didn’t find that out until til after the flight 😂 Notice the big crevice in one part of the rim? That’s where the conquistadors tried to empty the laguna to get at all the gold that the indigenous people had thrown into it as part of their rituals.
Thank you for this. It was excellent. And educational. I will co co build one.
Glad it was helpful! I will be posting sketches and instructions in the next day or two.
Neptuner 04 planets😊😊😊❤
Hi, great video. I’d love to make these. Can you share a cut list
Thanks. Working on detailed specs and sketch now… will post here when ready. Likely next week.
@@ConnectVideo That's great. Thank you!
Yes there’s this short video of two ladies rinsing after their mud bath on saline island. ruclips.net/video/d2z68_AXT3s/видео.htmlsi=AjoYXtDB7lJSDs_9
Do you you have more video of Saline Island? This video show's a lot of White Island
Not yet. But I’m back there as of yesterday. Will try.
I very much like the veiw as a seagull would have been the videographer and the music is very well adapted to suit this cultural setting. Well designed .thank you.
Very well thought out design
I have several pairs of saw horses that I store hanging from the rafters in my garage. I am always afraid to get them down, cause as soon as a new horizontal surface appears junk collects on it and then I need to get another pair down. Nice looking saw horses though, good work!
Great video Connect video - Malta looks great
