Great review mate, ive got one very similar to this had it for a few months now and its fantastic. I agree with most of the things you said but I do think your a bit harsh on the looks 😂😂. I like the slightly understated look, somthing like the i20N tries far too hard imo. And yes the build quality is a bit shabby in places, mine has some minor rattles and occasionally the passenger door handles sticks, but thats why its a cheaper alternative to something like the polo GTI i guess. Glad you enjoyed your experience with it! :)
Thanks for the feedback pal! Absolutely love we can disagree respectfully and I completely appreciate your opinion! I would rather have the Fiesta than the VAG equivalents and I genuinely loved driving the car! Stay well brother
I picked up one last week for 10k GBP (equivalent) with 40,000 miles and it has a tune, a catback and is the local market equivalent of the ST-3 with performance pack. I could not find anything anything anything even near, for the same money!
Ah, my MK7 would have this one! 💪🤓 Ford still messed up with the timing chain replacing the awful wet belts, as the oil pump is driven off an internal rubber belt, so instead of instant catastrophic failure, you'll first lose your oil pressure, then get catastrophic failure.. I've heard some of the 3-cyl ecobooms had a gear-driven oil pump when they first switched to chain-driven camshafts, but they went back to a belt just for the oil pump-which doesn’t make any sense at all.
Ah, would love to pitch them against eachother! I didnt know that, I guess a step in the right direction at least, you might see it coming! Thanks for watching pal!
There is nothing wrong with the 1.5 engine the 1.6 ecoboost has overheating problems, so it is far from bulletproof. You can get 300 hp no problem out of 1.5 and it still will be reliable, Laird Performance have proven that👌😎
Well considering there were loads of issues with the gear driven unit I have yet to see the oil belt have any issues. And in any case these seem to get tuned much better up to stage 3 and they seem to Be quicker stock for stick although same bhp and I own a mk7 st and I think The mk8 would Be quicker stock for stock and even a tune
Nice review but I don’t agree about the engine part. 3 cylinder is miles ahead of the last gen 4 cylinder one sound and performance wise. You get much more linear power output and not a sudden pull like the previous gen which for a daily fwd car is much much better and you certainly can’t tell it’s a 3 cylinder. Also 3 cylinder sounds so much better than the boring 4 cylinder. But ok that’s something that’s depended on personal preference. Aside from that again 3 cylinder is miles ahead of the 4 cylinder in so many ways.
Appreciate the watch and the feedback pal, certainly the 3cyl is better than the 4cyl on performance and behaviour, but I would stand by what I said regarding the noise, its not that it sounds worse than the 4cyl, but I can tell its a 3 is all, as you say, its all about personal preference, it certainly wouldn't stop me buying one!
