    Brilliant Ben - Great content. I particularly liked the last shot when you showed how long the nail was in the wood, so it helps me when picking out the thickness of wood to nail to the wall! I'm going to attempt wall moulding as I adore DIY - ha! Good luck to me - I need it! 😂. Thanks again. Psyche aka Psyche Thompson UK 🌹

    Thx works well, built a feather edge fence panel in about 30 mins including cutting the wood down to fit, finished it off with clout nails. Lovely nice review. I did see that SF do another model but did not do staples, that model said it would do 32mm so assumed this one ( nail and staple TTB517STP) did not do 32mm nails, Now I know it can. Thank you.

      I am pleased to have been of service. Also pleased you added clout nails afterwards as it is a finishing nailer so good for holding stuff but they can be pulled out easily. (Not a problem for me as if I am doing structural I usually am nailing to hold whilst glue sets).

The only thing I would have liked to see is a slower close up of the finished nail/staple just because I wanted to see if the nose left a mark in the wood. Hi I am planning on putting Wainscott type picture frame all around the under of my dado rail instead of gluing it there are a lot of pieces to put together I've been looking for a nail gun to do the job but the picture frame is pine soft wood could you recommend a suitable nail gun for the job allso I am just a general DIY man hobby I don't want to spend high end money I was looking at this but I think it might mark the wood thankyou

    • @BensWorkshop
      @BensWorkshop  4 года назад

      Whether or not it marks the wood will depend mostly on how you use it. The nails are very thin so you would want to probably nail to hold it whilst glue sets.

    • @BensWorkshop
      @BensWorkshop  2 года назад

      It puts in finishing nails, so they are very thin. I use this for those sorts of jobs. Where I have insulation up I have pinned a small bit of wood as a spacer, for example. I would also use it for moundings. Not sure it would permenently fix cladding, but would aid in positioning. (Get half a dozen nails in then screw of hammer in big nails).

    Sort of defeats the point of having a nail gun when you need both hands to operate it and get the nails to drive home. My pneumatic gun just works with light pressure one handed, leaving other hand free to locate work. OK for the money I suppose.

    • @BensWorkshop

      @@BensWorkshop It's a new build property and the wall on the edges is solid and elsewhere it's plasterboard. I am looking to create a panel wall using mdf and intend to use no nails adhesive and nails to secure the panels, especially as they need securing as the adhesive will need some time to grab properly (some panels are 2.4m long and 7cm wide).

      Ah, I see. So you are using it to nail whilst the no nails sets... OK. • @BensWorkshop
      @BensWorkshop  3 года назад

      No, the sheets are too heavy. If I were you I'd use stainless steel screws. I got mine from Toolstation. It's a finishing nailer.

    • @BensWorkshop
      @BensWorkshop  3 года назад

      I had not heard the, though it might be true, but they'd have to be of a comparable gauge, which these nails are not. Also if you might ever want to remove them you would be better off with screws.

    • @BensWorkshop

      No problem. If you are fixing sheets of 18mm ply to a shed you are going to need thicker nails than 18 gauge and if you are using a nailer they are much more expensive.

    Can I fit mesh to wood with the staple mode

    • @BensWorkshop
      @BensWorkshop  3 года назад

      That would depend on the mesh. The staples like the nails are 18 gauge so thin. If the mesh is thin, no thicker than chicken wire I suspect yes it would but I can't guarantee that.

    Hi great review, I was wondering if you could advise me about availability of staples compatible with this gun. Read few reviews on screwfix website and some people complain the can't get any staples for it.Not even Screwfix supplies them apparently. Can you please confirm? Is it still good a year later? I am thinking to buy one. Many thanks

    • @BensWorkshop
      @BensWorkshop  4 года назад +1

      Many thanks for watching. I can't confirm. The Titan nailer/stapler (and the similar Parkside nailer/stapler I also reviewed both take type 91 staples up to 25mm which are very common. Both Screwfix and Toolstation sell them and so does Amazon. See for example:
      www.screwfix.com/search?search=91+staples
      www.toolstation.com/search?q=91%20staples
      I do hope this helps. Please like and share, and if you like the channel, subscribe!
      (I will also track down those reviews, their just not true.)

      I would have thought so, but it will be a little awkward to get the nailer into the angle you require. You may also need nail punch to sink some or all of the heads.

    • @BensWorkshop
      @BensWorkshop  5 лет назад +1

      Yes. Obviously it only drives "brad nails" (Think thin panel pins) and staples, but provided you use it correctly it works.
      There are issues with nail guns, for example if the wood is soft and the setting high you may dent the wood. If you are careless about pressure on the head or using too low an impact setting you may have to tap it home. This would be true of any nailer.
      I will have many uses for it.

      Being tight and only a ‘diy-er’ I bought a cheap parkside version years ago. it only intermittently worked to an acceptable level and very often jammed, which made me tell myself not to be so tight and get a proper one. However, years later I still cannot justify spending a lot, as I’m only tinkering in the shed, and so up until this evening’s screwfix website viewing I haven’t bought another. Do I take the risk again? It does sound a much better, less risky option

    • @BensWorkshop
      @BensWorkshop  5 лет назад

      Oddly enough I found a £10 Parkside one I did a review of last week though it only does up to 15mm and seems to work (though it is meant for upholstery).
      What are you hoping to use it for?

    • @BensWorkshop
      @BensWorkshop  5 лет назад

      Oh, and I own a lot of Parkside tools and find them quite good in general though I haven't tried the larger nailer. Also their compressors don't seem to put out enough air for me so I haven't bought one.

    • @stuffoflardohfortheloveof
      @stuffoflardohfortheloveof 5 лет назад +1

      Hmmm, that’s a good question and (bear with me) I’m not really sure.....I suppose I could do with renailing the fence and refixing some of the cladding on the workshop for starters. I watch loads of RUclips vids where quick tacking/fixing is used and they always tend to grab their nailers etc. I can’t see me needing one for 1st fixing but could see the benefit for some 2nd fixing I suppose.

Schoolboy error here, remove the rubber shroud on the front of the gun. not a good review, sorry.
