Absolutely.. 😊 I was 6 this year & only unfortunately remember stumbling around in a fog 😂.. I do remember feeling very strange the previous year while in kindergarten & the way my parents were acting when I got home at noon. Kindergarten being a half of day! I barely remember seeing the funeral on tv & being told to sit down and get a seat. I just remember the weird quietness of it all as I was excited & wanted to share my experience with my folks about this weird thing called school! The 64 Mustang is something I guarantee you a million folks that had the money to purchase them, wish they had bought 100 & put up in mint condition. Imagine the cost of seeing Brand New Mint 64’s in a garage with less than 100 miles on them today! I don’t think I ever even saw one until my Freshman Year of High School. I can’t remember anything about the Noble Prize of Mr MLK. but do fogly remember the deaths of MLK & R Kennedy, a few very short years later I think! The Beetles I only came to know as I probably got into later years of Grade School - 7th 8th Grade. From the perspective of a 1st Grader in 1964... it’s sort of a brand new world of just a zombie more or less of learning, day to Day! The Schwin Bikes Oh.. I certainly remember & I got a Brand New One sometime within these very short years, maybe even in 64. I have no clue.. as it’s a fog of memory timeline at least in my mind being b. in 1958

You were a beautiful child Bianca! I was so scared of girls 😂 It even followed me throughout my high school years. I was very Shy & Backwards, never drawing attention to myself! How time does fly in our short seemed lives as we know it. I myself wondering where certain decades went as I turned 63 this past July! But we all should give thanks if we are healthy or even if not, that we are still here, every day on earth! God Bless All & Please Stay Safe! We are living in Times that are changing! Dramatically Changing! The 70’s to me were my best memories of life- Graduate of Class 1976! 💖💕

I loved going to the Fair. The beautifully landscaped grounds and the exhibits. We kids got to see Michelangelo's Pieta, on temporary loan. I was eleven in 1964.
It is worthy to note that U.S. military had maintained a small presence in Vietnam (IndoChina) since the French pulled out in 1954; but at the end of 1963 there were only about 30 fatal casualties. When the U.S. pulled out of South Vietnam at end of 1972, the fatality count had risen to 58,000.

The Ford Mustang was actually the 1964 1/2 (aka 1964.5). Even though it was considered an early 1965 model, there were some changes to the actual 1965 model. The 1964.5 is quite a collector item. I was a Junior in high school and wanted one, but none of my two jobs even came close to the price tag. So, I continued driving my 1957 Chevy with the straight six and famous noisy tappets (aka lifters). 😁

The Mustang, & the GTO were the new cars on the block, Bewitched was a hit, The Munsters, & The Addams Family also debuted on tv, & my family started a trend that started at Xmas time 1964, & lasted until 1971, it was fun while it lasted, but the funniest part was my family & my cousins family, in short, 10 people plus luggage all neatly packaged into a 1964 Ford Country Sedan station wagon on our way to my other cousins house in Yorba Linda, for the annual Xmas festivities, especially since we flew into California from Chicago. Yeah, those were the days, when my cousins family moved from Illinois to California in 64, they stayed at my other cousins in a cabin in the mountains, & I have pictures to prove it, but that's another story!!!

@Dapper Canuck Sort of true. JFK sent in some "advisors" but it was LBJ that sent in thousands of troops to get us knee deep into it. In 1960 when DDE left office there were 900 troops, In 1963 when JFK was assassinated, there were approx. 16K American troops there. By the time LBJ left office after 1968 election there were 536K troops there.

Jennifer Hansen - yes... The voice actress in the original Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer tv show was named “Billie Mae Richards.” In the show credits, they credited Billy (or Billie?) Richards as to look like it was a man’s/boy’s voice. I thought of that because It was always interesting to me since Rudolph’s voice sounded like a woman to me growing up ... and he was (and rather than hire a man ... or credit the woman... they altered the actress’s name.)
...just an interesting thing of 1964
