On FB groups I see so many people who open a shop, haven't listed an item & are instantly shut down. They appeal to Etsy and are told that their appeal has been rejected with no chance of review. Etsy don't disclose why they were shut down. This is strange and doesn't give confidence to anyone using the platform 😑😑
I agree, this can happen and Etsy doesn't have to give anyone an answer. Which I think is WRONG! But, usually if someone opens a shop and gets shutdown immediately it's either banking info not correct or they had another shop that was flagged. Maybe one day we will get an answer from Etsy.

@@brandcreators this is what happened to me. Its kind of crazy what a cruddy platform it is. And the fact that they dont even want to follow up or allow you to appeal properly
These “strikes” are not communicated to give people a chance to change it. Some may not realize it and totally innocent/don’t even know what they’re doing is wrong. Secondly they’re suspending shops with no notification and when asked told nothing and told not to ask again. That’s outrageous to me.
I haven't seen any shops suspended for no reason. Etsy always sends a notification email or communicates the reason via support.
@@brandcreators hey what he means is that shops are getting taken down and THEN they get notified after the fact. They don't get any communication beforehand AND getting a hold of Etsy support on any issues is absolutely ridiculous.
The things you mention here are obvious. However, I've read other stories of other things not so obvious...such as...
the shop owner traveling for their job and signing on from another computer, or signing on from another computer that happened to be on a vpn (unknowingly)...
and...
A top selling shop being closed permanently because he had a $7.00 open bill from a previous shop he no longer ran but forgot about. No warning.
The entire etsy banning thing is the height of ridiculousness when it comes to normal business operations.
Honest mistakes are getting people banned.

Ive never been able to figure this out, there is this flower festival that happens yearly around where I live, is there a rule that prevents you from making shirts around a particular festival? Its no band or musician its just about flowers. Is that allowed?

Its beyond me that people still sell starwars, and other IP and just dont care. it seems sometimes ETSY doesnt care either.
Is it harmful to close an indefinitely suspended account and open a new account with the same credentials and a different IP address? Can it be suspended again?
Yes they can. The only way is to use fresh identity, address and bank aswell as IP. Any connections will get your account suspended, even if you close it
@@hassanmazza1831 It is a very problematic system. The account is suddenly closed and no explanation is given. Opening a new account becomes more difficult or even impossible.
And don't copy other creators' designs to the T. You can (and should) get reported for doing that.
Scott i have one question about sales and discounts... If i run whole shop sale on all products 50% and setup thank you offer... I mast put in thank you offer 60% discount or like 10% and this 10% will add to this whole shop automatically if this customer use thank you offer code.???
Etsy doesn't stack discounts, so if something is on sale for more than the discount would give them...they would get the sale price, not the sale PLUS the discount.
We've been up 2 days. Shut down.
