Another way to protect yourself is to make and sell only your own designs, produced by you. Voila; no trademark infringement!!

Disney isn't going to sue u initially. They would issue a cease and desist letter first then if u do nothing they will then go to further legal action. It's cheaper for them to have a lawyer draft a simple letter then to actually sue you

Yeah. I somehow got permanently suspended and I don’t know why since I had no copyrighted characters, celebrities, or terms unless Dapper Cats or Proud of You is somehow copyrighted
@melainakissgames yeah Etsy is ridiculous, worse than any other platform I have ever used.
Both of those phrases actually do appear in the USPTO database, that doesn't mean you vioalted the tradmark, but it is something that's registered and could lead to you being suspended.

Quick Question - I created some floral phone cases. I’m new at this for sure. I was looking at the USPTO site in regards to trademark. It has IPhone listed and one of their products is phone covers. So, can I use Ipone with number after it in my tags. For example IPhone 12, 13, 14, etc. Thanks!

There are people who are unscrupulous and steal other people's work to profit as they don't want to learn to stand on their own 2 feet. It's not Etsy who is responsible if you want to become a business operator but dont want to learn the basics of running a business, Car manufacturers arent responsible if you drive without a licence. People need to learn the way to operate and run a business. In a world where all the info is available at the tap of a button, they have no one to blame but themselves when they come undone. Research, Plan, prep, execute.

Others have said this: Etsy gets a lot of money off of illegal sales. Once the Mouse takes issue, Etsy shuts down the shops that the Mouse says are violating the trademark.... Those shops that are still selling are just part of an upcoming lawsuit; maybe not this month or even year, but they will be sued/closed at some point.
Now if you quit selling the offending items today, that doesn't mean you won't get shut down...if the Mouse has your shop in it's radar, you will get the horns.

Question - why does it matter if your tags have trademark violations? Can people see that data?
Even if the data isn't visable on the front end of the site, using trademarked terms can (and should) result in your listing or account being suspended.

The only time Etsy closes your shop is if you violate one of their terms of service. Unlike most other services, they make their policies very clear, so as long as you follow their basic rules...you have nothing to worry about.

If you start to look everything like this you have to remove everything and close.
The reason why Esty isn't doing trademark prevention for their users is that they are profiting off of these sales. Most of these users who sell such items are probably in some foreign country where the lawsuits can't get to them. Even if Etsy suspend their account, they just create a new one again.
Another point is that some of these items might be fan art too, which is a grey area.
No, not fan art. Not a grey area. Outright trademark infringement. Fan art might be like someone drawing Mickey Mouse and posting it on Instagram for SHOW only - definitely NOT for sale.

hey just a quick question , im a new etsy seller and im kinda scared by this, i am using everbee and it says 48 trademarks detected but most of them are like these forest

No reason to be scared, just double check and make sure the phrases aren't trademarked.
