The best thing to do is go to your piercer to get sized. Reduces waste and you know exactly what you need. Going too small in gauge size is not advisable because then you risk the cheese cutter effect.
@@marinasaburova oh my god?! That’s beyond horrible! I hope you’re able to find a new piercer :/ For me personally, I decided a long time ago that I only wanted to buy solid gold jewelry. I used to buy things that would turn your fingers/neck green so I said not anymore. In the long run, you do end up saving money (depending on what brands you buy from) and you have those pieces for life!
Yesss I agree! Now that I’ve got a full time job I’m starting to invest more into jewelry and it’s honestly so much better! Doesn’t tarnish or turn my skin green, or irritate it, and I don’t have to throw it out every few wears. I definitely recommend it for those who have the means to do it!
All of my piercings, except my lobes, have been 18 or 16 gage. When I was buying jewelry I totally didn't think about the size.. long story short, I bought a hoop for my rook piercing, it was to small and started to close and get irritated. So I currently still have the jewelry I was pierced with in my ear.
I got a super cute earring but it doesn't fit because I didn't know my size, but the seller I bought from is highly rated so I'm hoping I can get a better size, this video was super helpful
i want a helix piercing jwelry that doesn't tarnish and that i can wear for a really long time. I'm currently wearing to normal studs which do get nagged a lot but i lost all my other mini hoops and the studs that i got it with
I really like my Esty ones! They are starting to get tarnished now, but they are about 2 years old at this point so they lasted a while (and I never take them out). They still don't irritate my ears though :)
Thanks young lady for your knowledge and experience, i am here to learn. Im 57, and have a few piercings ive always wanted a couple more. Specifically the helix and nose. Just couldn't find the time or place, and i guess i was afraid it would hurt too bad and make it hard to work in pain because my belly ring hurt like a bitch for months before it healed enough. Im a gas tanker driver and it got snagged everyday allday. I had to use my sons mouthwash the dentist gave him when he got his wisdom teeth cut out. It was minty fresh but had lidocaine in it that numbed my belly piercing. Ahhhh! Do you recommend getting multiple helix all at once or consecutively? Spaced apart first and fill in gaps after the first ones heal or go ahead with side by side? I will have to get silver or gold regardless because the cheap metal makes me itch terribly and gets inflamed even on old piercings.
I’d say you can get up to 3 piercings at the same time! If it’s more, then maybe wait for some time. (I believe that’s what piercers recommend). I got two piercings in my helix at the same time and it went well! I’m sure they’re gonna look awesomeeee! 💕☺️
I had my helix pierced recently, it was pierced with a 20g but now that I am looking for a nice replacement I have found 20g really hard to find. Most are only 16g. I’ll try Etsy but if you have any advice for up sizing that would be great.
It is really hard! Etsy is def one of the best options, I’ve linked my fav Etsy products/shops in the description and a lot of them are 20g and if not, 18g
With my best wishes to you, I watch your channel.💖 The topic of your channel is very interesting, especially thanks to you I finally started wearing earrings (soon to be one week).I was very curious about size and gauge of the cartilage rarrings.Your earrings are very exquisite. What gauge earrings do you wear in your earlobes?
Hmm yeah it can be hard especially if they screwed it in tight. If you can’t just unscrew it, try getting some help from someone else. They can try using small pliers or I’ve heard you can use tape to hold the flat end easier. Otherwise go to a piercer and they can help
Great video, you are such an amazing girl! All your piercings look super cute, wish you getting a tongue and belly jewellery as well. I'm super happy with my tongue ring 😛
Hi I just found your channel! I got my helix pierced 9 months ago and have constantly had issues with the stud unscrewing from the flat back. Eventually I lost all the studs I had and decided to buy hoops since that what I prefer and they won’t be unscrewing. I got them today and tried to put them in (they are huggies) but the actual rod part that goes through the ear was too small. I was wondering if maybe my ear is swollen or something and that’s why it’s not going through. I can get regular earrings in just fine. Do you have any recommendations for types of hoops that aren’t infinite that will be better for my “large” ears LOL 😆
hmmm i think if you can get regular earrings through your ear is probably not too swollen. Sometime its hard to put a curved earring into a straight piercing, if that makes sense. Maybe try getting a hoop with a bigger diameter, and maybe a thinner gauge. I like Etsy for these since you can really customize it for what you need

Yes! If you can afford it (and your piercer isn’t now a sex offender 🫣) that’s the best option

Yesss definitely! Just gotta get around to it. Probably at least 2 more 🤭
can you make a video on nosering.
I don’t have a nose ring unfortunately, so I wouldn’t feel comfortable giving info on that

Sounds like it looks awesome tho! Worth the pain I hope? 😅
@@marinasaburova yeah it's really cool looking because the hoops are like a hot pink

Most regular earrings for earlobes are 20g. I just wear whatever jewelry I like for those!
