Jack Fitzpatrick did a Remix of Free As A Bird, in the process cleaning John's vocals to what I would consider 1000% better than the '94 Mix.
I wanted to sync up the original video to how it should have looked and sounded in 1994. Enjoy!

Great song. I think the vocal needs a bit more reverb on. Sounds a bit dry.
My son already mixed it and I was just updating the video to it. Since Paul and George has no reverb or effects on their vocals, it wasn't necessary to add anything to John's. The trendy reverb sound only works in certain cases, but not in this song. That would make it all out of balance. I heard some other mixes doing that and it sounds horrible. This mix sounds natural and fine to most who commented on my sons audio only post. Way better then the original.

@@fitzpatrickgf Thanks for replying. I get what you mean. Something just sounds...off (to me). Maybe I'm just too used to the original.
@@dinnerwithgreedo I'm so used to the new mix now that if I go back to listening to the original version, that one is way off.
I love this cleaner version. The original has a spooky quality to it.
Centered vocals are too quiet in general here.
It sounds like they muffled John's track and cranked up Paul's.
You should listen to the original release in 94 when they didn't have the technology to isolate Johns vocals. Jeff Lynn did his best to compress some of the high frequency hissing on the demo cassette tape, but those segments of John on the original mix are very noticeable, coming in and out like a door opening and closing. The original was not perfect back then either but it will be interesting to see what Paul and Ringo do in remastering FAAB and Real Love. My son did this mix for fun and I just synced the video to it. ✌😁
