This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ruclips.net/user/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
Man I could watch your videos all day. I enjoy doing things like this but unfortunately I now live in an apartment. I enjoy making furniture just to be creative and destress. Great work, also I appreciate the fact how much logic you apply. Sometimes people can make things so overly complicated.
I have no idea why I just watched 3 of his videos without skipping any context. I am nurse not a construction guy. But I enjoy watching them, why thou...?
Ben Im amazed at what you have built there by yourself. Good job and thanks because lately I've been learning too much with your videos the only thing is i wish i could have more time to practice because as a Chef im bussy mostly all the time..good vibes.
I just stumbled on this channel, and this video, today. This is fantastic! And what a great result! Problem solving on the fly, and just plain old hard work and ingenuity. I had to subscribe, and I'm looking forward to watching the entire backlog. Great job, Mr. Tardif.
I have a somewhat smaller shop 20x30 with 8 ft ceilings, I want to basically do what you have done. The problem is you are about 40 years younger 🙂 and way better on the ladder. I have some bids to have it done but it is cost prohibitive. I want to insulate it and then install plywood on the walls and ceiling so I can then install AC/Heat so I can work in it year round, Great job,
As you went sitting on the Scaffold , I was thinking 'DUUUDE get off the scaffolding of deaaath "! But hey nice work it looks awesome. I love the idea of screwing everything into anywhere on every wall, good move !
You should be stoked! You did an amazing job and I am in awe.. l am surprised about the 1/2in plywood but it makes sense when I think about the added weight of 3/4. P.S. I love your dog!!!
just FYI you are supposed to start from ceiling for the sheeting that way the top row of the wall can also hold the sheets up. The order is top to bottom.
Magnificent work and superb achievement. Your workshop is going to be at the top. Why did you choose all wood inside? For the beauty of this one or in relation to the insulation constraint in your region? In any case, congratulations!Hello from France.
Me too. These videos actually convinced me to go with plywood instead of drywall in my garage. So much less labor involved. I haven't started yet but I have the plans pretty well mapped out for when I do. Hopefully it looks half as good as this when I'm done!
im building a house in the near future and have a important question, how is the temperature holding with the plywood, is it good? btw nice work in putting the video together, it looks awesome.
Great video my man. So how is the 1/2" birch plywood holding up 3 years later? I am about to embark on the same project for my single car garage and I am wondering if the 1/2" will be sufficient for hanging things on the wall and if it is thick enough to prevent sag in the middle or if I need to go to 3/4". Thx.
The half inch ply has been working great! I try to find a stud for anything with a significant amount of weight (25+ lbs), though I know the plywood could hold even more. There isn’t any sag. Still holds up the same as it did on day one. If you are going to do half inch, make sure it’s quality. Mine is 9 ply and super strong. A lightweight 3 ply with a veneer might not have as much strength.
Cabinet grade plywood on the walls: now I know what Adam Savage means when he talks about “making TV money”. Lol, just messing. A little jealous, though. I went with 1/4” luan plywood for the walls of my (much smaller) shop/shed. I wish 1/2” birch was within the budget 😏
Oh, definitely. Looks great, too. I’ve been getting a lot out of your videos. Now that I’m getting into cabinetry a little more, I really need to find a source for baltic birch. I can only go so far with “Sande Ply” from Home Depot 🙄
I know it's a tiny nit late for this thought, but because the lift was a couple of feet short, you could have made a platform the needed height and attached it to the left.
Talk about binge watching. Just discovered your channel and have watched 10 videos in a row! Love it! On a side note. Where'd you pick up that 1/2" ply from and what did it set you back a sheet? Thanks again, and keep em coming!
Hey Ben. did you pour the concrete foundation with a lip on the interior with the plan to have the sheets of plywood sit on the lip as you were sheeting the interior walls? Or did that just happen by chance? greatly appreciate your input. Thanks!
That was part of the plan. The floor is gradually slipped towards the barn door opening, but the stem wall (curb) is flat. It’s a pretty common construction requirement for my area so water in a garage flows out of the garage
I love seeing a youg man kicking ass by himself great freekin job. Oh and Bless You Gazoontight!

It makes me feel good to see a young guy doing this. Gives me hope
Every second you spent on the scaffolding of death filled me with immeasurable dread and anxiety, good work!
I like how you find solutions for when there's something hard.
You speak like this is all new to you and you are learning as you go but the quality of your work is outstanding. Looks great. Keep it up.
I love the way you clean up so well all the time.
I got exhausted just watching this man move all the plywood. God damn.
You are amazing with all your skills and talents and how you do all this work by yourself.
Man I could watch your videos all day. I enjoy doing things like this but unfortunately I now live in an apartment. I enjoy making furniture just to be creative and destress. Great work, also I appreciate the fact how much logic you apply. Sometimes people can make things so overly complicated.
This looks great! Will be checking out the rest of the video to help with finishing my garage/man cave/workshop
I been watching since first part, such good videos
I have only seen my own Daddy work like this..work horses..hard worker
Hell of a build fella, and to have done it solo, hats off! Salute
I have no idea why I just watched 3 of his videos without skipping any context. I am nurse not a construction guy. But I enjoy watching them, why thou...?
Same....I've been watching for several hours tonight.
because he's eloquent, his builds make sense and look good, and he's quirky, smart, self-deprecating, and just cute
Lookin good Benny boy. Nice work.
Great vid Ben.The right tools make it easy.
you doing without any help. Mind blowing task. Great job
Great job! Amazing you did all this on your on. Really good video and commentary as well. Love the outtakes. LOL.
VIDEO UPDATE: I have sold the plywood and am now retired.
Wow, I'm amazed at what this kid accomplished. I only played video games when I was a teenager.
FOOOOOFO ! BEAUTIFUL THIS PUPPY. FROM BRAZIL
Great job Ben.
I have done the same “I forgot the tool on the ladder” move too. Thanks for sharing your progress.
Great job ben.

These videos are awesome, Ben!
You, sir, are a beast ! Nice work bro
Looks great. Baltic birch for swathing... fancy
you know im taking a deep breath at the end 👍👍👍 awesome
the scaffolding of death is what you get when a stunt man is making a house.
JeroenEch I feel like $35 of 2x4’s would take it from “scaffolding of death” to “scaffolding of minor injury”.
Been watching since the marble mini golf. Still have a smile after every video ❤️
Dude, we went to high school together! Including playing soccer. Congrats on the shop
Hey Cody!
PS. my arms/shoulders are hurting just watching you do this!

turned out great.

Haha, scaffolding of death, that's an accurate description.
i just discovered the channel, and now im watching everything from the beginning to end. such good quality videoes

damn i love your videos doesnt matter what kind i just like it i dont know why
Its stunning
This. Is. So. Cool!
great job!
just FYI you are supposed to start from ceiling for the sheeting that way the top row of the wall can also hold the sheets up. The order is top to bottom.
Took five days and the work paid off
I'm ready for that guest bedroom video 👀
looks amazing
Very Cool! Good job.
Good job keep them coming and more on the puppy
I don't want a man who will build me a house, I want a man who will build me a workshop this beautiful. 😍
Love love love it.
"I got back on my scaffolding of death" LOL
I loved the out takes @ the end ;-)
Looking good man!!!
New sub just because of “technical difficulties”!
Right? It's a genius, great addition to every video
So nice I love it
Subbed, cant wait to see it finished
It looks great! I can’t wait to see everything to come
You could of put the lift up on a couple of pallets to reach the ceiling ...... for next time ! 👍😂
Corgis make the best shop dogs.
That puppy is so cute! 😍 and so are youu 🙈🙊😅
patrick daigle i hope he sees this bro
Ugh
Magnificent work and superb achievement. Your workshop is going to be at the top. Why did you choose all wood inside? For the beauty of this one or in relation to the insulation constraint in your region? In any case, congratulations!Hello from France.
I remember when you did marble machines, those were the good times.
good job man, im in the middle of doing the same thing to my detached garage, at a much slower pace lol
Me too. These videos actually convinced me to go with plywood instead of drywall in my garage. So much less labor involved. I haven't started yet but I have the plans pretty well mapped out for when I do. Hopefully it looks half as good as this when I'm done!
You need a good friend that will help you lift those boards!
I just did a room with ply myself. 12mm but a bit cheaper than yours. It’s come up a treat.
Who needs a scaffolding of death. Your dangerous all by yourself. Great build kid.
The Scaffolding of Death had me so worried I was clentching lol
Isn't the vapour going to condense on the vapour Barrier, also making the plywood wet?
I haven't seen any mention yet of heat/air. Surely there's a/c?
This is exactly what I did. I've never regretted it but is was a slog to do on my own (I've got a lot of years on you).
I like your scaffolding of death. Did you have any sheets leftover? Looks good so far...you will get there!
How are those acoustics! I've done a full plywood workshop.... Echo city till you fill it up.
Should some treated wood go on the top of the concrete with the plywood resting on that?
Why no vapour barrier on one half of ceiling? Is there a reason 4 this. Looks like a great space nice1
gotta tell ya taping between sheets of wood or drywall is a pain in the butt
im building a house in the near future and have a important question, how is the temperature holding with the plywood, is it good? btw nice work in putting the video together, it looks awesome.
I think the main reason why the one plywood on Day 4 as a "pain in the behind" was because of the different insulation!!
@@BenTardif Thank you for the reply sir. Glad to hear it is still holding up well.
Next project: finish work place
And after that another marble mountain?

It was definitely pricey but well worth the investment. I can screw anything anywhere into the wall and it sticks
Oh, definitely. Looks great, too. I’ve been getting a lot out of your videos.

Omg..ya fell
Lol your feet come off the ground when you sneeze too lmfao ha
Saw puppy and just clicked.
Anyone else hear "Get into the Gap" playing at one point (in their head?)
Why do you have a vapor barrier only on one side of the pitched roof?
When u goin post the next video of the shed?
Nice
I know it's a tiny nit late for this thought, but because the lift was a couple of feet short, you could have made a platform the needed height and attached it to the left.
you should make a wall a marble machine like build it on the wall
Talk about binge watching. Just discovered your channel and have watched 10 videos in a row! Love it! On a side note. Where'd you pick up that 1/2" ply from and what did it set you back a sheet? Thanks again, and keep em coming!
Thanks! Got the wood from ganahl. Fairly standard price for a sheet of plywood. Though cheaper than quality 3/4 inch sheets
@@BenTardif Thanks mate. I've bought 1/2" Vietnamese birch from Anderson but it didn't look anywhere as nice as that. I think it was $38 a sheet.
Are you going to stain it? Or seal the wood?
scaffolding of death killed me lolololol
Hey Ben. did you pour the concrete foundation with a lip on the interior with the plan to have the sheets of plywood sit on the lip as you were sheeting the interior walls?

How do you keep your shoulders from hurting?
Two Words- chalk line
Hey, I’ve have a plywood studio and was wondering what plug would you recommend for mounting things. In this case I want to mount a TV. Thanks!
Find a stud and screw straight in, or remove the ply, fit some noggins and refit the sheet.
Where did you buy your plywood?
Do you have a Cardigan Welsh Corgi?
Nope, I looked at other videos and he’s a Pembroke Welsh Corgi right?
