Some States in the US ask for another percentage (on top of that State's taxes) to remain anonymous. And that anonymity is only to lottery officials. Iow, if your local yocals (tax assessors, city councils,et,...) know about your win, they don't have to keep it quiet.
They haven't paid for anything. They simply win less than the advertised amount. They also aren't 'losing' half to taxes. They pay taxes on winnings regardless. The fact that they choose the high tax option is on them, no one else. Love how people twist facts to align with their feelings and opinions.
I'd still prefer lump sum because you pay taxes once vs annually with annual payments, plus there is no state income tax in Florida so I'd take the lump minus the taxes plus the amount forfeited by taking lump sum
Lottery winners should be able to remain anonymous, it's a safety issue; there are too many crazy people in the world. No one should be subjected to robbery and or death because someone wants to steal from them.

Lottery winner's identification should NEVER BE RELEASED under ANY circumstance's. They should NEVER have to appear on any television show. It is great they won but they will need to watch their backs the rest of their lives. Terrible and cruel people live in our society and would do ANYTHING to take their money.
Sometimes the other person suggest that if somebody wins then they all split the money with someone else, that doesn't mean all parties agreed to the suggestion. I went to purchase a lotto ticket from gas station and the clerk suggested that "if I win, to share some of my winning with her." I have never met this person in my life, for somebody to suggest to a paying customer that they give you a portion of their winning is incredibly bold and somebody you should never trust with money or your life. If both parties don't agreed, the other person doesn't deserve a share of the winning, especially if one is doing all the suggesting and implying.
Gloria Mackenzie vs Scott McKenzie the only reason Gloria won was she was in a Publix store in Zephyrhills, Florida and a guy that was going to get an EZ pick, she was elderly so he let her go ahead she got an easy pick and that was the winner, so instead of seeking out the man that let her go ahead in the lottery line she never even reached out to him with a little money or thanks... nothing.

Nothing you say would ever change my plan if I would hit a jackpot. It's my damn money I will do with it what I want and how I want. Please don't comment back I should have never given you the time of day. Seriously man seek help. When you start reading through comments just to make yourself feel better by attempting to shit on someone's lottery idea it's a problem. Don't have to be dr Phil but either go get a woman or man to stroke that eggo of yours because I am seriously feeling sorry for you to the point if I hit that Powerball tonight I would consider you as one of the people to help.
I went to purchase a lotto ticket from gas station and the clerk suggested that "if I win, to share some of my winning with her."
I have never met this person in my life, for somebody to suggest to a paying customer that they give you a portion of their winning is incredibly bold and somebody you should never trust with money or your life.
If both parties don't agreed, the other person doesn't deserve a share of the winning, especially if one is doing all the suggesting and implying.
What’s your biggest lottery win?
$1,000. So far lol 😁🥂🥂
On Christmas I won 100,000 God is good I’m very grateful 🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰🥰
@Tiffany Robinson wowwwwwwwww
@Paola Borja Nice!!
$20
Gloria Mackenzie vs Scott McKenzie the only reason Gloria won was she was in a Publix store in Zephyrhills, Florida and a guy that was going to get an EZ pick, she was elderly so he let her go ahead she got an easy pick and that was the winner, so instead of seeking out the man that let her go ahead in the lottery line she never even reached out to him with a little money or thanks... nothing.
If I won, I'd get a house in a quiet neighbourhood, (I have noisy neighbours), a few nice pieces of furniture, make sure I had enough set aside to live on, and blow the remainder on producing indie horror movies.
Some winners just want their Haters to see they won! Thats why they go on TV and show their faces
That is not true. Most states forces winners go public!
Man, after hearing about all Andrew Whittaker has gone through, I’d be afraid to shake his hand! Wow!
Doesn't matter now. He recently died.
Wonder how he made his millions. he didn't seem to be a smart person and didn't know the basic financial management. What's up with the burning house and no insurance??
All states should be anonymous
Pastor, lawyers people all very sad to see them ripping people off😖😖😖😖😖
1-2-3-4-5-6 has the same chance of hitting as any other combination.
Facts, but a lot of people play those numbers so highly likely you’ll be splitting the winnings
I can bet you losing all that money was the happiest moment of her life. All the calls, the long lines of beggars, the crooks & politicians dry up & then there is a deafening silence which is welcome as it is peaceful.
Since when do Pastors get paid for giving spiritual Guidance, instead they claim it is worth 10 Million dollars?
I don't need ANYBODY to advise me about MY money. 💯
Amen to that,,,
Most of these winners believed the same...till they went broke.
@@stephenc2481 If you have little to no financial discipline you can have Jeff Bezos money & still go broke~ that goes without saying. 💯

I was waiting on this. I just watched another video featuring him as the “lottery lawyer” and thought it was odd. I’m sorry, but he doesn’t look trustworthy, you can see the shadiness in his eyes. Not at all surprised to find out he’s been cheating people out of their money. Side note, WHO would pay a $75,000-$200,000 retainer??? He really preyed on those folks... disgusting.

I wouldn't hire a lot attorney nor would I tell anyone
Yes people who win the lottery should have the option to keep their identity anonymous, some people will try anything to get your money from you. It's sad but this is how people are.
Yes!!! Should I ever when the lottery I will have someone I know I can trust accept for me or I will wear a disguise
7:05 her Son did not buy the ticket for her she bought the ticket herself a woman that was in line with her let her jump in front of her nose she won and the woman that was nice to let her jump in line lost and this woman did come out and tell people at on the news because this battle lax didn’t even give that nice woman any money for her generosity of letting her skip in line The reason why she is suing her son is because he embezzled a large sum of the money
If i win the lottery i won't hire a lawyer, cpa i don't trust them I'm just gonna take the annuity for 30 years thanks for the video...
Thanks one more reason not to move to Florida 😂😂
_54:57__ I really want to know the whole story, did she had those kids during her marriage and he didn't know, or had them from past relationships, either way it's no wonder why the doctor gone mad, this is why you need to meet your in laws or family members of the person your going to marry._
Yes for the safety of the winner they just become targets
The lottery lawyer story is very bizarrely long in comparison to the other 10 second stories.
I would have zero issues with saying NO.
If I won the lottery I would not go crazy with it. I wouldn’t buy a million dollar house and I definitely would not hire a creepy lawyer!! Nor would I buy expensive cars. I would live just the same as I do now.
you say that now
States should let all people be anonymous if they win the lottery it shouldn't have to tell anybody their name it's just how greedy States can be🤬🤬🤬!
Another great video, thanks!
The video is ONLY great if you're a Winner.
The winning should be taxed by the lottery company before the winning not after by winner. Winner should get all the money displayed on the ticket.
They can't. Each state has different tax rates. Some have none.
That's how it works here in New Zealand and Australia
The money comes with a new set of problems.
half of the problems comes from your family and relatives.
I was 2 numbers from Winning the biggest 1.3 billion lottery aswell.. I won but not much
Paster Matthews HELL 🔥awaits
Anyone who believes you should be able to remain anonymous should really read into why those laws were eventually put in place. It might not change your mind but It’ll definitely make you think twice about it
Hitting the lottery is almost like being a millionaire too .. everybody hand out
It's up to the person if they want to be known or not.
Not in all states!
Yes lottery winners should stay anonymous
Poor Lynn Poirer - what a terrible decision from the courts! Yikes!
