      Any reputable tax attorney in your area can help you. This guy was all hype by trying to brand himself as though he had a specialty. Helping lottery winners is not a legal specialty in and of itself like probate or copyright law. You simply need a tax attorney.

    I think all states should allow winners to stay anonymous. If someone chooses to be in the limelight, that's on them. But in an effort to keep people's lives private and for their safety, no personal information or photos should be put out there.

    If you win the lottery, and opt to take a one lump payment, losing almost half to taxes?
    Damn straight that you should have the right to remain anonymous. You have literally *paid* for that right!
    Respect!

    • @Blissfulnessence

      Some States in the US ask for another percentage (on top of that State's taxes) to remain anonymous. And that anonymity is only to lottery officials. Iow, if your local yocals (tax assessors, city councils,et,...) know about your win, they don't have to keep it quiet.

    • @capnobvious2718
      @capnobvious2718 Год назад +1

      They haven't paid for anything. They simply win less than the advertised amount. They also aren't 'losing' half to taxes. They pay taxes on winnings regardless. The fact that they choose the high tax option is on them, no one else. Love how people twist facts to align with their feelings and opinions.

    • @FloridaCultured
      @FloridaCultured 9 месяцев назад

      I'd still prefer lump sum because you pay taxes once vs annually with annual payments, plus there is no state income tax in Florida so I'd take the lump minus the taxes plus the amount forfeited by taking lump sum

  • @jiggiti

    Lottery winners should be able to remain anonymous, it's a safety issue; there are too many crazy people in the world. No one should be subjected to robbery and or death because someone wants to steal from them.

    If I ever won the lottery I would literally just stay home relax not have to get up at 6 AM and be at work. I would be able to just be lazy for a couple years that would be great. And just relax with 30 years of working, it would be nice just to do nothing and not worry about money or if the bill will get paid.. I just buy a regular pick up truck and house and not have payments.. I guess if you just keep a mind set of stay humble, and think poor even if you have money you always have money, like I tell my kids money saved today is money for tomorrow.

    A lot of these problems happen because the winner’s name is revealed, or they start living it up with wild purchases. You’re so much better off if no one knows. You can improve your life subtly, but you don’t have to give up your life entirely. After that, invest the money into a portfolio that lets you live off the interest and don’t ever touch the principal. Move to a place with low or no income tax. Live in a nice neighborhood, not an extravagant neighborhood. Stay healthy. Stay out of the party scene. Stay out of other people’s business. Stay off social media. Your people will notice the new home and updated (NOT EXTRAVAGANT) car. If they ask how you did it, say you don’t discuss your finances. They ask for money, say NO. No explanation is required. They pout about it, cut contact. You gotta be a savage about it if you want any peace.

      A lot of people would never be able to do this. When you have been poor for a long time you also accept that people treat you badly. So when they win all they want is to be seen or valued.

    • @capnobvious2718
      @capnobvious2718 Год назад

      Thanks Captain Obvious. You're so much better off if you simply do not play the lottery. Why bother playing if you're just going to go into hiding and not spend any of it? Did you read your message? WTF... Yeah throw 500 million in the bank and earn... what is it now, less than 4%, (great way to help society, too, just letting the bank earn triple digit interest on your money while paying you a measly 4%), move to North Dakota, buy a Nissan Pathfinder splurging on the luxury package, speak to no one, not even your neighbors (per your 'stay out of other people's business suggestion). How are 'your people' going to notice anything after you've gone into hiding because you stupidly won the lottery? I think you mean invest in rental properties, stocks that pay dividends... do you know how much you'll pay in taxes on that interest you're withdrawing to live off of?

    I ain't telling anyone if I win. I'm just going to be that guy that donates to charities and help vets and low income families but without taking the recognition. I figure I can live off of about 10 mill the rest of my life and my kids life. People who win these should definitely think of others besides blowing it all on pathetic stuff like cars and houses. Buy a homeless veteran a car and house or take care of a family that has a child with terminal cancer. You know how great that would feel to be in a place financially to do that.

      @@kjnewman7518 Obviously you are one of those that have no clue about how to handle money. If a person is homeless they can't afford to pay rent. With that said, how would they pay utilities, phone, property taxes etc? The house would go back to the bank. Just skip the giving a house to a homeless person and just write out a check to the bank. If you want to "help" someone you don't need to buy them a house. You can help them find a job. It doesn't take money to do that.

Don't mean I am going to do exactly what I said. Of course there would be stipulations. Are you just bored or something. Going through the comments section to just talk shit to a comment that was made a year ago. I thought I had a lot of time on my hands. Nothing you say would ever change my plan if I would hit a jackpot. It's my damn money I will do with it what I want and how I want. Please don't comment back I should have never given you the time of day. Seriously man seek help. When you start reading through comments just to make yourself feel better by attempting to shit on someone's lottery idea it's a problem. Lottery winner's identification should NEVER BE RELEASED under ANY circumstance's. They should NEVER have to appear on any television show. It is great they won but they will need to watch their backs the rest of their lives. Terrible and cruel people live in our society and would do ANYTHING to take their money.

    Sometimes the other person suggest that if somebody wins then they all split the money with someone else, that doesn't mean all parties agreed to the suggestion.
    I went to purchase a lotto ticket from gas station and the clerk suggested that "if I win, to share some of my winning with her."
    I have never met this person in my life, for somebody to suggest to a paying customer that they give you a portion of their winning is incredibly bold and somebody you should never trust with money or your life.
    If both parties don't agreed, the other person doesn't deserve a share of the winning, especially if one is doing all the suggesting and implying.

    Gloria Mackenzie vs Scott McKenzie the only reason Gloria won was she was in a Publix store in Zephyrhills, Florida and a guy that was going to get an EZ pick, she was elderly so he let her go ahead she got an easy pick and that was the winner, so instead of seeking out the man that let her go ahead in the lottery line she never even reached out to him with a little money or thanks... nothing.
