- Here's my Google Play Pass Review! The Google Play Pass has finally launched in the UK and today I'm going to take a quick look at it. We'll look at its features, whether it's better than Apple Arcade and test out some of the games, apps and in app purchases.
There's a free 30 day trial to get you started. After the trial you'll automatically be charged £4.99 per month. You can also sign up for a 12 month pass at 50% off (£29.99) which I think is pretty good value.
Don't forget you can sign in to your Google account on up to 10 devices so you could use the Google Play Pass in 10 different places at once...
You could also have 5 family members in your Google Play Family to share it with. This would allow you to each use your own account when accessing the service. I think this is probably the best option for most people and especially for parents. Imagine being able to give your children access to an almost endless supply of games to keep them busy.
Not all the big hitters are in there at the moment but the service is still relatively new. I imagine more and more developers will sign up to have their games available via the Play Pass. In a similar vein to the Xbox Game Pass - it's unclear what the developers are offered to join the service. Do they get paid per download? Is there a fixed fee they will receive?

I agree. I think there's probably different games available depending on what country you're in too. As it has only just launched in the UK I hope they'll be adding some more games soon 😊👍

Because in-app purchases are free with this feature, if you bought currency from the game, what would happen to the currency after you cancelled your trial (especially when you bought items with the currency)

Will you loose access to the installed games after the subscription expires?
If it's a paid-for game you won't be able to launch it. If it's a free game but with in-app purchases, you'll just lose access to the in-app purchases

You just click on it and you get it for free! You can see this from 7:44 onwards 👍

As long as the game is listed in the Google Play Pass section - all in-app purchases are free

Yes if the game is including in the Game Pass everything will be free. When your subscription ends your in-game purchases etc will be locked again. If it's a paid-for app then you'll not be able to open it without paying for it

If you cancel your subscription then any items you got for free you go away.

Yeah, when it's a game like Clash of Clans (or Roblox etc) they already make millions of dollars from in-app purchases so Google would have to give them a LOT of money to even think about joining Play Pass.. 😢

No, any paid games will require payment. Anything unlocked in a game/app will be locked until you pay for it or sign back up to the Pass.

Think of it a bit like Netflix - you have access to every film to watch but when you stop your subscription it all goes away

For example i installed a paid app with another google account but i subscribed play pass with another google account...will i still be able to unlock in app purchases using the pass on that app?
I've got to admit I haven't tried it so I'm not sure. I'd guess not though as the Play Pass is linked to 'purchases' on the account you sign up with

Yes that's right
You should be able to yes. So the same account logged in on different phones should be OK.
Also, you can create a Google Family and add 5 people to one account and you can all share the Play Pass 👍

Not currently, PUBG is not included in the Game Pass. Perhaps in the future it will be added 🙏

It's obviously trash lol. Imagine playing Terraria for one free month and another paid month and then just getting kicked of the game. Won't buy it, not worth it.
Hey it's still completely free for 30 days though! And that includes hundreds of pounds worth of games and apps. Depending on how much you play and use your phone it could be really good value.

@@drew8267 considering u are not gonna play all premium games for a long time, you basically pay 50€ a year to just own 5 games or so and still pay to keep them. Not all play store premium games are good, I would say that there are about 20 very good ones, but you'll eventually get bored of them so u will end up with 5 or smt. That's why Imo it's not worth it.
