Summer of 2020 I'm 12 years old I was just in a little 20 ft crestline and was taking my hip boots of because it was a hot day we were just using rod and reel to catch halibut and my rod just buckled down so hard it lwas like going to snap it was those halibut rod so t was a thick rod and it buckled and it was reeling in a 75 pound halibut with one boot on off😂
Once again I love your videos and my favorite videos is when you measure and weigh your catch and off load it at the processor... i also like when you go for crab!!! Keep up the "family" videos
Just ordered some halibut filets and cheeks for Christmas gifts. Looking forward to sharing your catch and I appreciate the care and work you put into providing us with the best seafood we can buy.
@@na.5010 Hi N A. The season for halibut closed Nov. 15th. It reopens in early March. Until then the only halibut coming out of Alaska is frozen. We would be more than happy to supply you with fresh halibut next year. If you would like to be added to a contact list shoot me an email with your contact information. Our email is sales@eisalaska.com . Thanks and have a great holiday season.
Thank you John. We always try to provide the best seafood possible. We are always looking at our operation and making changes, even if small, to improve quality.
Thank you William. We are blessed to live in such a beautiful place and make our living as commercial fishermen. We are thankful for this amazing resource and do our best to protect and respect it. Happy holidays to you and your loved ones!
I grew up in RI right near the water. I love your videos. I found out that my great great uncles were fisherman here in Newport for cod. Someday Alaska is on my bucket list. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Amazing Wendy. Cod has played a huge roll not only in settling the eastern seaboard, but also in the colonists decision to go to war with Britain. I wonder if your ancestors played a part in the American revolution. That would be cool. Merry Christmas and best wishes to you and your loved ones!
Hey , it was nice to see another video today and it was good to see everyone doing their part . Enjoyed watching you dock as I did learn a thing or two . I hope all goes well for the upcoming holidays so until next time .
That was docking a boat like a champ. Damn!! Do u and ur family ever go and fish just for fun and personal family time to catch different kinds of fish?
Thanks! I've noticed the boat is always easy to park when no one is around. LOL. We do go out and subsistence fish for halibut , salmon and crab. There are a few videos of us out subsistence fishing (personal use) for salmon. It's a lot of fun and we really enjoy it.
Love your vids. I’m in Australia just on the Northside of Brisbane. We are having 30-40 degree Celsius days with very high humidity. And looks like you are pretty cool. Have a great Christmas and looking forward to heaps more vids next year. Thank you .
Very interesting. There's probably an obvious answer that I'm missing, but why do you flip the halibut upside down when you land it and when you put it in the hold?
Hi Corb. It's mainly a habit from the old days, but functionally we clean and measure white side up. The reason before was for presentation purposes in fresh markets, helped to keep any blood from pooling in the white side.
It's an old-school thing, presented better in fresh markets, keeps the white side more clear. But now its habit, also we clean and measure them white side up.
Great video. I wanted to see you get PAID for your three netfuls of fish. AND what about the fish you took home for the family? Is there such a thing as a Christmas Fish dish? What about the recipe?
Thanks Bob. We don't sell these fish to the processor. We pay them to custom process our halibut and we sell it direct through our website. We don't have any Christmas fish dishes, but whitefish is great because you can cook it so many different ways.
