- Reel Rollers proudly reviews each feature on the new to market Revolution 26 Reel Mower. Historically the options for residential reel mowers were limited to designs launched over 90 years ago in the 1930's. Since that time the reel mower market in the USA and abroad has not advanced or improved.
As the largest reel mower dealer in the USA, we have been developing accessories and products to help modernize the McLane, California Trimmer, and Tru Cut mowers for the last 15 years. However, in the last 3 years we could only take these older design mowers so far and realized our thirst for a dependable, comfortable, and easy to maintain reel mower could only exist if we designed it ourselvers. So that is exactly what we did in 2022.
We interviewed reel mower manufacturers from across the world seeking the right partner and mower platform to build The Revolution 26. We chose Masport for 5 main reasons:
1. We needed the right mower foundation which for us had to have 3 features already built into the mower. Those were a rear drum, Honda GX160 engine, and to be an all chain driven mower.
2. We needed a partner who had the engineering manpower and capabilities to achieve our design goals of The Revolution. We changed 19 of the 23 features found on The Revolution with their amazing engineering team.
3. We needed a partner who was experienced with Reel Mowing and had a long history of success (100+ years and in 30 countries worldwide with Masport). This partner also had to share our vision for future designs which are already underway.
4. We needed a partner who had the production infrastructure in place now, but also the proven success to expand production in the future.
5. Most importantly, the personal bond/ relationship had to be there between our companies. So many times business challenges and successes are determined through trust, no contract language. It was critical that our teams worked well together, supported one another, and had a personal loyalty to each other beyond work. The folks at Masport are incredible and we are fortunate to have found such a great partner.
The features which are standard on The Revolution 26 consist of:

Love the idea for the fins to redirect grass into the catcher... easily one of the things I hate most about my Tru Cut. Can't wait for the battery models, that's when I plan on making the switch!
Lee, I've never used a reel mower, but this thing looks great, feature list is amazing. Can't wait until you scrutinize and design the best cartridge mower without a $7,000 price tag with the reels. 🎉🎉 Let's go!
LET"S GO!!!!
I love the no zerks and no greasing…. Amazing product…
Hey Lee this product looks amazing. I live in Wilmington, NC. This would add so much curb appeal to my clients homes when the grass might be out of hand. As a Real Estate agent I sometimes need to freshen up the yard before listing the home. This would come in handy as my go to lawnmower. I do whatever it takes so my clients home sells and looks great! I'm a jack of all trades, and being a bermuda yard expert I need this! We should collaborate
Looking forward to receiving my Revolution!
We currently use Trucuts for all our high end properties here in Hawaii. Hoping this comes thru and we can switch all our machines. 🤙🏼🌴
Man I’m getting so excited for this mower to arrive! Great features!!
As soon as I saw the announcement video on Ron’s channel I knew this was going to Revolutionize the reel mowing game. I pre ordered the first day and I am getting so exited as delivery time approaches! Reel Rollers truly hit a grand slam with this design! Almost time to dominate! Let’s go!
Thank you. We’re so anxious to start seeing feedback from owners. It will be the highlight of 2 years of effort.
This is a Swardman killer. Finally a USA made machine and great support.I thought Allett was good, but this is awesome!
U.S.made? Early in the video,he says "they are on the water", implying on ship heading to US.
Can't wait to lay some stripes
Great job explaining all the features Lee. Looks like a good mower, certainly much better than all the other residential grade mowers that we see around. Hopefully I will get a chance to stop by the shop to try it out sometime. Went by during the winter just to check out your location and saw a beautiful TRX in the parking lot along with a lot of dormant grass.
Oh how I miss my TRX! Crazy story, but it was stolen from the atl airport while I flew to a funeral for 48 hours. Couldn’t believe it!
@@reelrollers That's messed up, but not too surprising with how easy these mopars are to steal. I wouldn't bring my Trackhawk down there though haha
My Channel is following the journey from my beautiful Saint Augustine yard to a golf course grade Bermuda lawn ....hopefully by the time the grass is ready for its first Reel cut I will have one of this for that video!!!!!!! Beautiful machine keep up the good work fellas!
Need an Andrew 😊instructional video on how to assemble the revolution reel mower handle bar please.
wow, seems like you thought of everything that needed to be corrected from all the other mowers offered😊
This is amazing, I'll definitely be in the market soon. I am not too far away in Cumming, do y'all offer order pickup direct at the shop if we purchased one of these mowers? As it is July 2024 currently, can we expect any sales/discounts on this mower this holiday season and/or into early 2025?
Sold my Swardman so i could buy this
Can't wait to get mine :)
What is the maintenance schedule for the chains? have they been tested with a "dry lube" like is common with motorcycle drives? Are they O-Ring or X-Ring type chains?
I'm ready!!!
So glad I pre-ordered this bad boy! Man I’m excited! Sold my TC H-25 to get this!
im so glad to know it goes to 1.5" older video sd 1.25, website says 1.5. I was hoping and Lee came thru😁 Waiting on the all important email now lol
How soon will a Verticutter cartridge be available?
Not a pushy salesman but you don’t have to be when the product will sell itself 💪🏼
How loud is the engine compared to the McLane Briggs & Straton engine? The rev 26 looks like a game changer to me if you’re in the market - well done on the product launch!🚀
Hey Lee, just to clarify the bed to reel adjustment.Do you need to tighten or loosen both bolts on right and left? Also super cool mower, cant wait till its here. Also would love to be able to use cartridge system with this.Sure you have already heard this.
No loosening or tightening, just turn the bolt on that side and it holds its tolerance
So excited to get mine!
The more i see it the more i want it! But still sold on the cartrage systems. But if yall are coming out with that system on this design im in! Esspecially with a turf rake, groomer and brush! Lol
Love how this is made in the usa. My main mower is currently Alett Stirling. If we can get a American version that is more durable and how quick you can switch cartirages out then Im swithcing.
Masport is our manufacturer who has their production facility in China. The mower was designed in the USA and is exclusively sold only in the USA.
Atleast the Allet mowers are made in England - this one is made in China.
Great video and very helpful to its end users.
Game Changing I love what you have done. I wish I didn't switch to cool season. Great video. I wonder If I could cut Fescue with this mower hmmmm. They have created low cut fescue cultivars these days. Whats your thoughts ?
I've been using a Mclane for a year. Just purchased this one. The website says 1-2 days shipping by ground. Is that accurate? Thought I saw mid June delivery somewhere.
When will the cartridge version come out?
Lee, do you feel the blades on the cartridge should touch the bed knife? How much if any? I’ve seen Allett Reps make videos suggesting it should be just kissing it, barely, less friction the better. What’s your advice?
P.s can’t wait to receive my Revolution 26 in the coming weeks, going to be a game changer!
Imo, this depends on several factors-
Mainly , the hoc and density of the grass.
Thick zoysia mowed @ 1" will struggle with reel/bed knife contact.
Bentgrass mowed @ .125" would probably do better with slight contact.
Lee, I asked last Fall about the maximum HOC on the Revolution and the 1.5" hasn't changed. You mentioned that the next generation of the Revolution might have a higher HOC. Having a KBG lawn in NW Ohio, I prefer a 2" HOC and I'm worried about a lower cut during our summers. Have you considered a higher max HOC?
Lee, does the HOC adjustment ever loosen itself over time? If so, is there a counter nut that can hold the adjustment screw in place to prevent it from loosening itself?
Does it cut up to 3.25”
Can I add a scarifier or verticutter?
Does this only come with 6 blade reel option
Yes, but the important aspect is clip rate. Our reel is a 6” reel where McLane, trimmer, and tru cut use a 7” reel. Our 6 blade clip rate is optimal at 5/8” giving you an incredible cut from 3/8 to 7/8
Can this mower be purchased in california? .if not can i order without engine
Yes, our engines were manufactured in 2023 which is the law for right now.
The sterling from Allett is nice but not 6k nice. I asked them during their live release video why so small. Currently it comes in 17 and 20 in. That may work for the UK but not the US. We like everything big and the revolutions 26 inch is the way to go.
Hallett man 32 varients, including wider cuts.
Is there going to be a battery version?
Is this mower Loud like Tru Cut?
It is less than a tru cut because all of the chains are under a sound dampening side cover with foam, but it is still a strong honda GX engine so it definitely makes noise like a lawn mower
Interchangeable blades?
Just had a new bermuda lawn installed around my pool, I want to start reel mowing for the first time. Is this the right choice? How level does the lawn need to be? Should I wait until I finish leveling next spring after the lawn is established?
Great question! I hope he reply
With front and rear rollers the lawn doesn't have to be perfectly level and top dressed. This will scalp less than a rotary.
Did you say GDMF neoprene grips?!?!
Are you all open on Saturdays?
We are not. I’m sorry only Monday - Friday 8a-4p
Too bad, Not going to take a day off from work to look at a mower….
Gonna have a sale price if I order now………?I noticed price is $2700
I have the same question. I'm about to get the new Cal Trimmer. If they'd sale price this I'd go with the revolution
No, I’m sorry that was only a presale.
I’ll pass…….too pricey for homeowner brand
Finally ordered this. So burned out by my mclane it’s just a dumpster fire of a machine
Had the same features as a trucut
Rear drum is bad ass though
Definitely had the good features of the tru cut like independent reel/ ground control and durability. But, shares non of the features or likeness of the reel to bedknife adjustment, rear tire marks, or painful thumb control. Also we stayed with the Honda GX engine.
The hex bolts will still strip. Just not as easily as a flat head bolt. Great little upgrade
Not as easy. I’d take hex all day.
Absolutely agree, they can all strip.
But these will drill out easily for extraction (worst case), self-centering. Which is kind of a bear to do with flat-heads. I would have preferred a large Torx drive size but this isn't bad!
Looks nice the plastic reel engagement looks Jank for the price tag
@@bigdaddyww1 not at all. It’s a very durable material and design. Definitely not a concern when you put your hands on it.
Do you guys offer military discounts?
