You can also tighten the 17mm nut on the inside of reel to secure the height adjustment. If you don’t tighten it the roller has some play. Awesome video by the way.
I’ve found having the Cobra Fortis 17B over here in Scotland, when changing the cassette lift your height adjustment nearly all the way. You’ll find it’s easier to lift out without taking the cover off.. Great content 👍🏴
I can’t decide on the 20 inch catalyst or wait for the 20 inch revolution. The cartridge system is nice but at the same time the only thing I’d use is the verticutter. It would be nice to be able to easily install a new reel with the cartridge system too. And the revolution will probably only have a 6 blade. It seems like I’m leaning more towards the catalyst
I think either mower will perform well. If the cartridge system is not as important i can see going either way and it may just be a preference thing or decided by price. Best thing is that you have options 👍🏻
Appreciate the detailed video and I love hearing the passion in your voice. I think a lot of people from what I’ve heard overbought and went with the 25” instead of the 20. I’ll be curious to see what you think about maneuverability with that big 25” (218 lb) and recommendations. With 5,500 sqft and running a 25” Trucut (225 lb) now I’m thinking a 20” (187 lb) might be better but not 100% sure. I think that rear roller design adds some difficulty turning compared to a trucut or even smooth drum greensmower. I’ll be trying out a 20” catalyst this weekend with a dealer.
I can definitely see where the 20inch maybe easier to maneuver. You’re kinda in that borderline area where a 25 or 20 is appropriate. If you decide to go with the 20inch I’m sure you wouldn’t be dissapointed and at the same time save some money. 👍🏻
Great video, Dwayne. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the verticutter cartridge. I’m in CA as well and am looking at driving out to NV or AZ to bypass the gas mowers restrictions in here. Where did you buy your Catalyst?
I bought to from triangle reel mowers. The Owner is Scott. You can still have mowers shipped to California. The rule is that as long as the motor born on date is prior to 2024 it can be sold. This is why a lot of manufactures purchased a lot of motors last year to stock up. Once these motors are gone then it will be very difficult. Hope this helps. Trianglereelmowers.com
Another excellent video that is so timely! Looks like my lawn will be getting a "purrfect" cut soon (using your "cats" out of the bag pun). I bought mine from Scott and you were right - he was very helpful! I think that the space specification for the gap between the rear rollers may be a minimum measurement. It shouldn't matter if it is larger than the spec but if it is smaller, it might bind the two rollers and not allow them to move independently. If you need the parking brake you might be able to pick it up from the Cobra Fortis supplier in England. I love the bed knife to reel adjustment! It is so superior to the tap-tap of the McLane. Do you think the cover bolt slots could be lengthened to allow the power shaft cover to be rotated slightly upward to make the cartridge swap easier? Excellent detailed video chock-full of information! Thanks, and can't wait for the mow!
Not a bad idea on using longer bolts for the cover. It really is just slight amount of clearance that is needed to make it easier to remove the cartridge. I appreciate the comment Mark. Thank you for being such an avid viewer. Party on and congrats On the new mower!!
Put some clear tape on the inside of the mower so the reel doesn’t scratch the body and will slide out easier if u ceramic coat decides of the cartridge and the actual machine too
@@dwaynesworldlawn I think your right because when I press down on the cover while its running it is less noisy...man I got to wait until the next video??

Another great video Dwayne as usual. I learn a lot with you, looking forward for the next one. Thanks!!! 👍
More to come! Thanks Robert!!!

I brought the same mower I am getting a loud rattling sound at high throttle any recommendations or is this normal ?
It could be from the driveshaft cover. There is a potential fix that i will talk about in my next video.

I don’t have all of details or supplies just yet to provide direction. Just want to give you accurate information.
