Him and anthony watson a brilliant duo at bath and england
Ford / Eastmond / JJ together as a midfield was some of the best rugby I've ever watched, had the privilege of witnessing it live in 2015 at the Rec a couple of times.
Ah, I remember those days, that was the last time Bath excited us. Neutrals loved watching us. Such a shame that team broke up.
Agreed, not a Bath man but used to tune in to watch them because of that exact combination!
His defence was massively underrated. 13 is such a difficult position to defend and his lateral movement was always spot on.
I genuinely believe he is one of the most underrated players ever!
One of those Rolls Royce players who always has time!
Never saw him have a bad game for England, brilliant in defence also.
Mystery why he was left out
A centre with all the basic skills perfected esp defense but was absolutely rapid so got through half gaps like a winger. Mis used by bath for a few seasons now but incredible player.
Quality player. Not the biggest bloke but great hole runner, lovely feet and turn of speed, and an excellent defender. Very handy ball skills and an eye for an intercept too.
Somehow underrated despite all of that 🤔
What a pleasure he is to watch. Brains, skill and phenomenal acceleration. So often like a hot knife through butter.
I don't know whether it was injuries, covid disruption or what but it seems strange he suddenly disappeared from the national team. He was a true international in a problem position for England. All the tools and ball in both hands playing destructive rugby. NZ and SA keep on their experienced world class players... not sure why England felt differently.
This Guy Is Quality, He Reminds Me of Lukhanyo AM
As a Scotland fan, with ball in hand Joseph always scared the bejesus out of me. The slightest gap and it was try time, either for him or for whoever he put away.
I really don't understand why EJ won't pick him anymore, especially when we're so short of centres.
Him and Daly are both very good atm.
@@thereader6667 Yeah, and Daly gets so much negative press because EJ played him at fullback instead of centre/wing. But when he's in the right position he's genuinely world class.
@mrsusan5672 he couldn't defend so was a poor centre and couldn't catch a cold so was a poor wing. Lacked the main skills required for those roles. The bad press was/is deserved.
I notice a lot of similarities between this and the way Joe Marchant play
He will always be my favorite English rugby player
One of my favourite all time players
And quite quietly, an exceptional defender
That’s why EJ picked him.
Brilliant players , something I would have loved to aspire to
Made at London Irish before being poached by Bath, along with half our academy. A classy player who, for a time, was one of the best centres in the world. Luckily, his little brother looks like he may be just as good!
Scotland loved him
Get him back in the England squad
Fabulous player
Says someone who grew up playing with and against him. Just me club level jj was something else
This guy was honestly in such good form back then, immense player - remember really wishing we had centres like him and farrel for wales at one point hahaha
Monsta...what a brilliant player JJ is...
JJ was discovered by England by accident, Lancaster having to pick him as his first choice was injured, which says a lot about the coach unfortunately. JJ should have been first pick for the Lions for his sheer pace, quickness of thought and clever play but Davies was picked by the Welsh coach which was always the 'Welsh' plan. JJ was an astonishingly good player of the finest quality for a number of years and the best in his position by far when at his peak.
Jonathan Davies won player of the tour… what are you on about
I loved JJ as well and thought he was equally as good if not better than Davies for a time. BUT Davies was utterly outstanding that tour and justified the coaches decision.
Far more irritated how England treated him tbf.
can you do one on Henco van Wyk?
from watching him recently, I think the one area he lacks is the ability to play with the ball in hand and through the backdoor with the backs in a seamless way. could be wrong but that's what I've seen of him
Wow. Scraping the bottom of the barrel now. Jamie Joseph unreal. Gimme a break. Who’s next. Sam Burgess- union superstar.😂😂
2015/16 in his prime he was brilliant. Hence the video. You dont like it you can go back to the same rugby highlight vids that every single other channel republishes each month
*Jonathan
JJ was at one time the hottset player in English rugby. Him and Anthony Watson put fear in a defense.
😂😂😂😂 Jamie Joseph was an All Black!
About five years ago he was elegant, strong and most importantly, world class at organising England and Bath’s defence.
He has not been the same for a while now, suffered from the malaise at my Bath club.🥲
As a Welsh fan he was my favourite English player while he was a regular starter for them.

@@simone.simone YES! He was amazing. So gutted with his injuries, poor guy.
Florain Fritz, and Yannick Jauzion
I'm English, and even I can say Rhys Webb has been shat on by the Welsh.. Maybe one of the most underrated players in the world, Gatland knew.
@@thereader6667 100% agree
He plays for bath, the man truly is a masochist
😂
Fantastic player. I had the misfortune of playing against him at Colts level. Defending against him wasn't fun - I blinked and he'd stepped me and was 10 yards behind me!
I Hope his brother Will Joseph will be as good
