Warburton on Tuilagi, and Roberts on Bowe are incredible tackles. Roberts is wrongfooted by the pass, and has to bring down Bowe coming in at full tilt, 5 meters out... Truly impressive
Excellent video. RIP Eddie Butler. Hats off to Peter Stringer and for Wilkinson, O'Driscoll and other backs for punching above their weight. However, who would want to be hit by Jason White? Apart from Jerry Collins and Jerome Kaino, I can't think of anyone more destructive
True story: I worked with Patterson in Edinburgh, and asked him about the Foden tackle when first meeting him with a university womens team mostly full of foreign players who were new to the game. Chris didnt really know what tackle I was talking about so I talked him through it, older statesman, young explosive attacker, head start, didnt have the angle no right to get to the tackle etc... A month later, I showed that tackle to the womens team, they were astounded, and we named a scramble play Patterson. He was at a finals game when he heard the call, and asked me what it meant, when I explained he laughed like a maniac, and wrote it down lol What a gent!
Just goes to show that adjusting the tackle height isn’t quite the death knell some people have been claiming it will be. There are some crunching tackles in the compilation that are technically at waist level.
tbf they havent actually gotten specific with what below the waist means, as far as i can tell it could be anywhere from hips to below the sternum so we will see what they go with.
@@teocarre4026 no, that’s why I find it so funny that people are getting so upset about it. Medically, the waist extends up to the bottom of the ribs and the RFU haven’t even trialled it yet so who knows how they’ll finally measure it. It’s bordering on hysterics the way people have reacted, like the game hasn’t changed at all in the last 200 years.
@@philsswweightlossdiary2944 yeah people need to chill out a bit and wait for it to happen, lower tackles means no more standing tackles which means more offloads and more ball in hand play which is what all these people complain is missing! I do think RFU handled the announcement poorly tho lol
Brian O'Driscoll pulled off a great try saving tackle v Scotland in 2009 grand slam year - the only 6 nations match that year when he didn't score a try himself
in the first clip, i will never understand why the welsh player dived for the try line 5/6 metres out. What was he thinking?! Made it easy for Underhill to tackle him out.
Hate seeing that Courtney Lawes hit on Plisson in a tackle compilation. It’s not a tackle, it didn’t stop the play. It wasn’t an illegal hit either but it was still late.
Remarkable how few of these tackles would have fallen foul of the new laws about head contact. Good tackle technique is not new. All the whinging about the laws "ruining the game" is just that:-whinging.
I really hate when the Lawes tackle on Plisson shows up in RUclips comps, I think it’s a late and unnecessarily hard/high shot with the sole intent of hurting Plisson
I disagree - it’s debatable whether it’s late but it’s definitely not high. Ofc it’s going to be a hard shot it’s a contact sport, if u have big players that don’t play hard they shouldn’t be playing rugby
I think most of the reaction comes from how Plisson’s head goes back as Lawes drives into him, but Lawes isn’t doing himself any favours by pushing Plisson facedown into the ground. Certainly a reckless and potentially dangerous tackle. Not so much a high one, but definitely reckless.
It's hard to define "unnecessary"; the oldest tactic in the book is to nail the 10, so the rest of the match he only has 5% of his brain power to manage the game because the other 95% is screaming, in this case, GET RID OF THE BALL BEFORE LAWES TRIES TO MURDER YOU AGAIN! Lawes got away with it so in one sense, it's the perfect tackle.
@@kevinwillis6707 it’s late and the player get tipped over the horizontal and this results in them landing on their head and getting knocked out. Clearly red
@@symeremeyers4148 wrong, it was judged perfectly legal by the ref and the TMO, new rules specify tackles shoulder or below, this game was several years ago, and its still below his shoulders, he didnt tip him, its simply the inertia of the hit. ive explained this 3 times now, if you cant retain the information, thats on you.
Is there a tackle in this video missing? Let me know and I'll look at making a part two!
Jason White, Sco vs Ita 2006. Last minute on Le Cicero. Flattened him, got over the ball, won the penatly.

Jason White tackle on Kevin Maggs was in there twice.
I still get so sad every time I hear Eddie's commentary. Will be sorely missed this 6N.

So glad you’ve included some of Jason White. A forgotten hard man and great loosey.
He always seemed to have great technique as well.
@@davidhughes8795 yes exactly!

There's something special about tap tackles.
Jason White💪🏻🏴
Jason white was a tank
stringer was the king of tap tackles!
That Ireland v scotland tackle is the dream for a full back
Keith Earl's cover tackles are sublime. Some man
this is the best video of the channel for me
Crackin compilation Mr Forde, so good hard to pick a Fav. That’s your fault tho, well done Lad

I tried to look for it but couldn't find any good footage! Any idea where I could find some footage of it?
Keith Earls take a bow. He made this cut ,what 3 times?
Wilkinson had that dawg in him
Remembering all of the tweets responding to your request being tackles not in the six nations
James Ryan was on his knees and was at DuPont neck 😂
Stringer was the greatest tap tackler of all time
Every other tackle - Johnny Wilkinson! He was a busy man
Dan Lydiate was immense in that game vs France
Could we get a part 2 video to this 💯👊🏉.
Warburton round the ankles should be known as best tackle of all time... not enough hype
Although not always name checked, I think Jason White has 4 in that compilation. Dan Lydiate with 3 consecutive examples. Anyone else close?
Wilkinson has at least 3 there, few people with 2: Stringer, Lawes.... Can't say I count 4 but he's before my time

If you’re talking about the one where he knocked himself out, I’m pleased it’s not included.
What’s your beef with Kevin Maggs? Him getting smashed by Scotland is in there twice 😂
What a great selection here. Shame about some of the camera angles.
Not a single Farrell shoulder charge in sight. Gutting

There had to be at least one Favaro tackle!

Lawes tackle on Plisson shouldn't be there, it was an illegal tackle
9:48 looks like a high tackle.
howd you make this without any Manu Tuilagi??? ... bruh L
Which Tuilagi tackle am I missing? I'll add it to a part two :)
