Hey bro, Congrats on hitting 1k subscribers!! You deserve it, your setup is amazing and your videos are very detailed, I enjoy them a lot, keep it up 👍🏻 ..I think we would all like it if you made a quick video going from room to room and showing us all of your tanks and filtration. Doesn’t have to be some crazy detailed video, just a quick overview of the tank, filter, general setup, and of course what livestock you keep in them..I also had one idea which I figured I’d just throw out there bc I believe you said something about people commenting about the look of the pipes..with that said, what if you took the pipes out, cleaned them up of all the algae, and then used spray foam to create the look of rocks/caves which would cover the exposed pipe? You could always paint it and coat it afterward with a fish safe sealant that way if the algae grows on it, you can easily spray/or wipe it off. I know it would be a large project to take on, but the look would be amazing! It’s just an idea and I’m sure you could easily put rocks around the pipe of some sort,,but the reason I said spray foam is bc it’s light weight in the event you have to remove the pipe, and you can also set the thickness to your preference as opposed to a fixed in position rock which can’t be altered (unless you smash it with a hammer 😂)..anyway, sorry for the long comment, your tank is amazing 🤩
Thanks for the suggestions! I may do a tank tour soon but I only have 3 tanks. They are fairly large though at 270g, 480g and 1,000g. The idea of the spray foam sounds great, however there may be a few issues with this: 1. Saltwater is very destructive so I am not sure of a spray foam that would withstand it long term. 2. Toxicity may be a problem with spary foam, although I could combat it by running carbon for a long time to filer it all out. 3. The pipe system is basically 3 large pieces so I could do I piece at a time but the problem would be that the Morays may get stressed by not having the whole system available to them for a while as each Moray has their preferred spot. 4. I could take out everything to spray foam it but the eels, sharks and Remora would all have to be placed into temporary containers. 5. The spray foam could cause the pipe system to float so I would need to weigh it down somehow. That said, since I have upgraded the lights to Kessils, I may be able to grow something like Green Star Polyps on the pipes. It would just take a very long time to cover all pipes but a large neon green glowing pipe system may not look so bad either.
@@fishdiaryOH WHAT A GREAT IDEA WITH THE STAR POLYPS! as far as the spray foam, all valid points you bring up..I was thinking off the top of my head, but you’re 100% right. As far as the Star polyps, I believe you said in one of your videos you weren’t putting corals in there (I could be wrong) which is why my mind stayed away from it..but now that you have the Kessils the GSP’s would grow in quickly (in comparison to other corals)..and it would be very realistic. I have GSP’s in one of my tank, I absolutely love them. Before trying this make sure that that you can put coral food like Reefroids in there and to make sure the food wouldn’t affect the eels. But yea man, GSP’s, and other fast growing mixed corals similiar to them in different colors would look amazing!
Love your content. I don't know if you remember, I asked you about purchasing a green moray during summer. My green has been growing like crazy since, never stop eating. He eats 4 times more than my other eels. I am still looking for a viper moray, but no news on that. Anyways, I was super excited to see your video today and I really hope you post more.
Of course I remember! I have been trying to upload more shorts featuring the Viper Moray and may do a dedicated episode soon. I'm glad your Green Moray has been doing well. My Brazilian was 1 foot shorter than the Carribean when I got him but as you can see in this video he has basically caught up in size :)
@ Yes, definitely! I’ve seen the shorts of the viper the moment you posted. Both the tessalata and the green grow up to similar sizes when fully grown. But the growth rate of the tessalata is not even close to the green’s. My green literally eats 6-8 pieces during feeding and the tessalata eats 1-2 pieces. And I feed them twice a week, so imagine how much more the green eats and how much quicker he grows
I think you will like the Kessils I have an A500X I like it anyways Going to a class top if possible might let more light in? I guess you figured it out with coffee tables
@ mine with wifi dongle was $575 used on reef2reef, I won a XR15 G6 Pro from WWC, I also have Quanta Pro light bars. My tanks are only 24 and 29” but growing coral or plants etc.
Looks like a cool setup, but a bit too small. What's the size of the tank in dimensions and water capacity? They would be pretty spooky to have in a bedroom to wake up with them watching you.
@@fishdiary I seen a video were a guy found a cistern tank under his garage floor for collecting rain water. He has them for eels & Gar. So if you want I bet you could have a similar tank, but with a side modified for viewing. It would have to be done in a basement but you could have a tank for multiple rooms in the basement. First google result brought up a 5500 gallon tank for 5700 dollars. That's around 1.15 dollars per gallon of water. So it would be a brutalist design but a 25,000 gallon tank wouldn't be too extreme for a youtube budget.
Lol. He was in a tiny saltwater pond at a local fish store so I thought I can give him a much bigger home but he has exploded in size since. I hope he doesn't get bigger.
Weres the tesselata moray and the giant moray at? and I told you awhile ago that this store in san diego had that baby yellowedge moray hes know 80 bucks definitely worth it there not to common
Man I love your eels but but seeing the remora in there is so awful! These animals usually attach to big animals. You could never recreate that. It needs tons of oxygen. I really don‘t think thats cool.
He was rescued from a tiny saltwater pond and was much smaller. He has been nourished back to health and has grown tremendously. I am currently looking for a public Aquarium with open water swimming sharks to donate him to.
@@fishdiary thats a good idea! But please don‘t understand buying an animal as a rescue. You don‘t understand offer and demand at all if you say that. Nobody should ever buy an animal like that from anyone. Sorry to be so hard on you, I am a diving instructor and things like that really annoy me. Have a good day!
@@dnoop_sogg brotha we all hear you and understand your point. He said he RESCUED it, brought it back to health, and is trying to find a public aquarium to donate it to - What else do you want the guy to do? Remora’s are very particular fish that most home aquarists do not purchase due to their size and housing requirements, point being is that if he didn’t rescue it when he did, it would probably be dead a long time ago. Now you see this beautiful healthy fish, and the guy is taking every measure to ensure its survival and best life ever. No different than anyone else who takes in rescue animals off the streets for example and cares for them, nourishes them back to full health, etc. I think everyone else also understands that this fish is very large BUT if you take a second to really think about it, NO saltwater fish should really be caught from the wild and put into a man made clear box to be put on display in a someone’s living room..these fish get way too big in comparison to some freshwater tetras. I have a couple of saltwater tanks, been in this hobby for a very log time, and we all do our best to give our fish (or pets) the most amazing life we can.
Like @LikinThemSuperSour said, the goal of the rescue is to keep it from dying. Getting it big and healthy needed to be done first because had I just donated it to a big aquarium in the condition the fish was in, it would have been eaten by whatever sharks the aquarium houses. Hopefully, SeaWorld in San Diego will take him in.
Amazing difference in lighting!
Nice set up!
Kessil lights are my favorite. I rehomed my tessalata and got a Brazilian dragon moray! Good video my fellow eel keeper👍
Thanks! The Tessalata got too big?
@ I knew he would eventually, so I decided to switch to a smaller species now. Before my grouper and triggers were in danger.
Been wondering where you went ! Excited as always to see where your hobby takes you!
I've been busy but I'm back!
The new lighting looks really nice
I'm glad you said that 😁
Really cool! Hope this gets more views/more people find you. Keep on keeping on!
Thanks! I think there are a lot of Moray Eel enthusiasts out there looking for care videos.

120L x 48H x 48W inches.
Just over 1,000 gallons with a 220 gallon sump.
@@fishdiaryyea dude!! Why didn’t you get a bigger tank!! What’s wrong with you??!! 😂 you cheapskate! 😂

@@fishdiaryso you even bought it 🙄 I was at least hoping for a rescue story now.
The shop asked for $200 which was fine. I mainly wanted to get him out of the store and into a bigger tank.

Both, the Giant Moray and the Tessalata Moray are visible in the video. Is the aquarium store called Aquarium Fish Depot?
@ no pet kingdom I was think about it oh lol idk how I didn’t see them
Seems to be a cool store. I will check them out.
What is that fish thats swimming on the glass. It looks like a small whale 😂. I like it
It's called a Remora.
@fishdiary thanx
