      I see many Australians just leave huntsman spiders in their home. Apparently they are good for dealing with pests, but as an Australian I would still never have the guts to do that

      My room in Japan always had one of these. They would just stay in one place on the wall then you look away for a second and they're gone.

    If I'm not mistaken it's very common here.Still people are scared of it . I had a roommate who would start screeming and running when she sees one.And I was her "super hero"😂😂 . They are really scared of humans and would run away quickly.Not at all harmful.

    Apparently docile towards humans. But common in Australia. But I already hear in Australia the Sidney Funnel Web spider is common too in homes and they can be lethal to humans, and they are very aggressive and like to bite!

    I think they're cool. I don't think I'd be afraid of it. I held a tarantula and it wasn't scary like I expected.

      Harmless to humans. And docile if handled properly. I love spiders
      But in PA nothing but common arachnids. Although the Joro 🕸 🕷️ is coming to northeast. I'm 60 miles northeast of Philly they are orb weavers and are biggest weavers on 🌍. They make 6-10 ft golden 🕸. Golden glint is to attract prey.

    As an Australian, I find huntsman spiders scarier than redbacks. I've dealt with redbacks, they're small, easy to evade and easily spotted. Huntsman spiders hide and strike before you can react - they may not be as venemous but you are more likely to get bit.

    I've learned to love most spiders, but I still need to adjust to Huntsmen. When I lived in Hawaii, we called them cane spiders and they freaked me out so badly, I still haven't gotten over it.

    we used to catch them with rat traps in Maui, they’d be cruising through the hallway and you could hear the little pitter patter of their feet when they ran by ☠️

    I’ve learnt to appreciate spiders after many years of fearing them. And that included having a Huntsman crawl across my face when I was in bed !
    My 2yo daughter even picked one up, put it in her mouth and started to eat it. I only managed to find a couple of legs left in her mouth. She’s 33yo now and I still remind her of that day lol

    They're pretty skittish, and they don't want to expend their venom on anything that's not food. So they'll usually just run, if you provoke them, and ignore you otherwise.
    In the event that they *do* attack, their venom is very weak. They pose essentially no threat.

    Canadian here. My young peeps run away from Daddy Long Legs. I'm thinking you might not have those in Australia, given the size of that thing, which would eat everything in its path. We do have Wolf spiders, but they are pretty invisible and never entire homes.

    Brown recluse are scary they play dead and they’re super quick I’d freaked out if I saw one and all of a sudden it vanishes I’d scream like a little girl knowing the thing is gone and who know they end up at

    This spider has the largest leg span in the world. No wonder it is so scary! It can have spans of up to 35cm making it the largest leg spanned spider ever. Don't try to disturb it otherwise it will bite. Often the spider will give a warning before biting.

    not just my wall, but less than 2 meters away from my face. usually I just grab vacum cleaner and suck it in, let it run for a while and it kept spinning inside. threw everything out on the grass area and stomp like crazy.

    They feast upon cockroaches; and if one has reached that size in your house you know you've saved big bucks on pest control-- they eat literally everything you don't want around...
