Close range fights have pretty much always been the most important in Fortnite and with season 2 the meta in zero build has changed quite a bit so getting comfortable with these changes is the best way to increase your win rate in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season . Thank you for your videos you are my go to for playing and improving in Fortnite 🙂 I am not sure what I am best at maybe if there is a specific quest or goal I can focus it and get it done. Worst at confidence and mechanics like using shocks I need to practice. Currently I am working on the right shoulder peak and playing around cover have a lovely day

I know people don't like the new DMR, but personally I really love it.

The problem is Fortnite is still lacking some options to counter third parties that's why most of the players still relies on builds mode

You saved my ass with the ice wall tip. I was trying to secure island and some force user knocked me off four times, I ice walled every time. I ended up losing to the guy but def used up all his heals and pissed him off in the meantime.
Force push gives you shockwave effect you don't take fall damage. Rocket rams on the other hand...
Can you do a vid on what binds and sense you have one your controller, I know it’s personal preference I just struggle to find the right ads sense and yours looks perfect so I would like to know what it is

My deficiency in game is my end game up close. I can fight up close decent as the match goes on, but Endgame i always either win my fight to get third partied or i just outright get dominated. I am exceptional with the Mid to long range weapons. Been good at them since i started playing with the hammer, striker burst, fantastic mid ranged they have had this go around.
Switching weapons back and forth is something I need to focus on. Gonna work on my keyboard bindings.
If you don't play builds I would make your shotgun bind to be scroll wheel up. It helped me a lot with being able to move around while swapping to it and it's very fast and easy to do
I wanted to thank you for your content. I returned to fortnite wanting to play zero builds but didn't know the meta. I have actually won a bunch of games. One was 15 kills.

Im definitely best at close range fights. I love pump/spray combo and im good at weapon swaping. However, i have very little game sense in BR. Most of my games end with high elims, but rarely a crown.
My issue is when someone jumps right in front of me and continues to jump around. I can't see shit and I'm firing wildly 😂
Try some aim tracking maps.
Take your time and make sure to only shoot when you know it's on point. You're gonna die but you'll get faster and more consistent over time and then you'll be scary to fight

Definitely best at long medium range I can outgun most players doing that. Working on my shotgun smg strat. Otherwise I buy the shotgun from rumble. Feel like my strategy is on point.
ill sometimes tap the ads before i shoot to tighten the spread a little if my crosshair is in the middle to get a little more damage
If youre KBM this is fine but on controller this can sometimes mess up aim assist I do it myself sometimes tho out of habit but I would prefer not to unless I dont think the person is paying attention to me like i talked about in the video.

it seems like, the thing you are really good at is those medium long distances shots, i cant hit half as much as you, its like you can control the recoil perfectly while following the opponent movement.
Last few days I've had so many top 3 finishes but lost. Almost every time it's to the heisted maven when I myself don't have one. I know with good play I should still be able to win more, but damn is that thing OP. I abuse it too when I have it, so not really trying to make excuses, I"m just surprised it hasn't been nerfed so a point where it's not so powerful. I miss the 50/50 battles of a regular maven vs a pump/smg/pump combo where more often than not the smarter/better player will win.

I’m on linear on controller and i suck at long range AR fights. I get really frustrated in zero build because a lot the PC gods with graphics turned down and shadows off absolutely laser me in the jungle when i can’t see them
Both my close and medium range need more fine tuneing but my long is horrible. FYI I'm on control. But your videos have helped a ton. Almost diamond rank this season

not really I think pretty much everyone uses the default L1 R1 binds for swapping
combat, twin mag, turret, slurp and ice wall. For zero build of course.
Recently changed from the PS4 to PS5 and the new controller. You'd think it wouldn't make much difference but my aim is now all over the place. Need to get used to the new controller.
I keep switching between KBM and controller because I have much better aim on mouse , but much prefer switching weapons with the bumpers. Have you ever played KBM?

Irrelevant. Shoot when your crosshair is on the enemy.

About a month ago I took your advice about practicing in creative and played the map you showed in this video. I got annihilated. I played for a solid hour straight and killed three people the whole time. I spent more time dying than anything. I would land in the map and if I didn't shockwave away and hide, I was dead within two minutes. Bullets flying everywhere, it was chaos, I didn't even know who was shooting at me half the time. I went back to this map three more times and had the same result, just got hammered and I picked up no skills. I suck.
You don't suck. A lot of creative maps are like that and I have pretty much the same experience.
@@sjbastro Thanks man. I want to go back and keep practicing but all three times I was there seemed like a waste of my time. I did get a lot of practice using the shockwaves though LOL, lots of practice running away too.
@@RustyCylerthe level of players in those maps is often miles above regular pubs though, so once you’ve got practice in those maps you’ll do so much better in actual matches.
I’d say I’m well rounded but need to work in playing defensively against good players.
Carry 12 shockwaves and always reposition when the fight isn't in your upper hand. The sign of a pro is maximizing fighting when you have the advantage then only

Weaknesses? Ho boy, I just started playing in s4c2 so I have all the newbie weaknesses in terms of not really having the hang of simple mechanics. Bloom was hard to get a grip on, but it's fine 9/10 times even if I get a lil lazy in a fight if I just tap kinda quickly. Glider landing and juggling stamina is something I really really struggle with, though. I'm truly spoiled by apex on these two things alone.
Solos is also challenging for me mainly because of the snipers in the game. If I stop for one second to check the horizon or heal, no matter how much cover I'm in, some sniper sniffed me out and bops me. Close range fights are fun though!
10 years or gears of war made me very good at close range fights and made right shoulder peeking something I don't need to think about doing. I just naturally peek right side if possible. Not great at long range ar fights. I'm 30 now and my aim is shit compared to what it was when i was 16.
You and I are very alike. I was a demon at gears but the older I get the worse my longer range shot gets 😂
Jake, thank you for your videos. Because of your videos, I can absolutely dominate every fight in beginning and middle stages of the game. To answer your question, I am still weak in end zone, and I only say this because I have second place syndrome 😅 I believe it’s because I panic, but I’m still trying to improve with your advice! My tracking and right shoulder peaks are decent 1 on 1 but I struggle when the opponent jumps or soaring sprints over my head.
I struggle with predicting opponents movements in close range
Practice with some aim tracking maps.
I try to shockwave away and start the gun fight again if they have soaring sprints.
The Fangtooth lately for me has been less reliable. Did it have a nerf in time between shots that I missed? It feels … off now.

I'm best at movement. My aim is pretty bad atm, but I can bob and weave with the best of them for enough time for me to figure out how to line something up. If someone gets the jump on me, though, I'm usually dead, lol.

I am going to be honest, I don't know what is my strongest aspect of the game. Or the part of my game that I am the best at. Weirdly enough, game sense. Or I at least plan my rotations better than my friends, from what I see. But I think the game sense is still something I need to work on.
What is my weakest aspect of my game? Long distance aiming, maybe. I am not the best with the Twin Mag AR even though it is my main AR. I might be actually decent at close range fights. But could still do better at.
O yeah i use my paddles for weapon swapping so i don't need to take my finger off of the trigger
I feel like spray weapons are op this season. I'm literally using SMG/AR/heals/mobility/cover and winning way more then my usual spray/shotgun meta for some reason. Anyone else doing this?
I have thought about it but I lowered my sensitivity for more consistent heavy shooty shots for when the havoc pump was in the game so now I can't control the combat smg recoil as well. Thinking about switching back because the combat is so freaking strong. When it came out for the first time I carried 2 combats and an AR lol
Best at 50/50s with the exotic maven and icing people off height. Worst at anything skill based 😂.
I just cannot win with shotguns. I feel like if you miss 1 shot you’re done. Unless you have a tac shotgun. Fire rate is too slow

I'm the best at close/medium range fights with shotguns and smgs and stuff, but I'm definitely the worst in long range fights with DMRs and ARs. My aim is 💩

Yeah there were like 15 total players in my round and like 3 of them were level 300 or something just melting everyone 😂
