i love the name big dog
😂 Sorry. Just noticed I wasn't subscribed. I've watched your videos since the first week I started playing and you're the best coach I could ask for.
Thanks for all the great tips and content.
I played in the testing grounds a few days, my friends jump in and destroy me for laughs.
3months non-gamer vs OG sweats
We all have fun. Fastest way to learn is strong competition. Much respect MasterShinobi
Thanks bro appreciate the maps 🗺️ 🙏🏽
Both the Pit and Zone wars show up as not available.
Amazing PvP Maps Toby, thanks!
And practicing Aim briefly before matches helps ME a lot. Especially for the new sniper meta (as you demonstrated in the video), I missed a map with moving objects/ememies, so I made my own: 5011-9885-6831
Do you also usually do a 5-20min aim warmup too or are you straight jumping into 1v1s?
Would be cool if you'd check out my map in private. 😊
As a 16 yr military vet that has seen combat in real life, this video is FACTS people. Something I need to get better at as well, but this isn’t a gimmick. It’s exactly why, when the military isn’t at war, we are constantly training and exercising. So, when that time comes, everything is second nature and muscle memory.
16?
What age can you join the military?
i think they mean they served in the military for 16 years haha i had to read it a few time
@@malum19 correct 😊
@@necktiegamingThank you for your service!
I discovered by chance that something that worked for me for anxiety was playing with no audio. There are times where I want to play but I cant have audio nor headphones so I just use visual cues. It's a bit more challenging but what I discovered when I started doing that, was that i wasnt as anxious in 1v1 or multiple enemies fights. It just felt way calmer. We all know sounds plays a big role in how our brain functions, so eliminating that helped A LOT. After doing it for a while you just get used to the fights not feeling so high stakes and when I play with sound, it's more fun. Give it a try.
Very true, It a pretty big difference even though I love all the Fortnite sounds.
Love doing this sometimes, or just listening to music instead of game sounds. It heightens my situational awareness and teaches me helps me lock in harder during combat
I feel you,
A lot of times my kids are sleeping or just being too loud and I’m not able to have the tv on blast so I’m not able to hear the majority of the time.
Some games it’s a must, some games it’s optional.
And yes I agree.
Not having sound almost makes you already assume your not gonna get fat / win.
So I accept a early death. And already accepting death like it’s been said in almost every major historical war. Just gives you a advantage.
I’ve been searching for a video about this for forever and FINALLY!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!! One tip that I found super helpful in controlling my anxiety, is turning off my spectator count. I noticed that my anxiety skyrocketed when I saw how many people were watching me…turning that off made a massive difference.
Smart! Fighting the anxiousness of the endgame was so hard to overcome and I still struggle with it sometimes
OG keeping it real here, once you realize your losses aren’t actually losses, that’s when you begin to grow. Thank you for the sage advice
My punching pillow loves your "it's just a game" mentality 🤔
😂😂😂
Took Toby's advice today in BR and focused on the opponent and not my crosshairs and it felt superhuman. Got the most kills I've had since I started in early December '23. Great resource for Fortnite!
I love this! My little daughter however sits right next to me and says things, “I would do this…I would do that” or “aren’t you gonna get the sniper/ninja swords?”
Time to get better!
I trained in MMA and Brazilian jujitsu and wrestling for two decades. During competition when you do it enough times you learn how to control your reactions to your emotions. Plenty of times when I was competing I felt extremely calm even though you are in a fight. I use this in FN and in life. Let the program do the work. And get comfortable in combat.
I've always had a lot of respect for people that fight for the sport. It takes a lot of courage. I'm 39 now, but I used to dream of being good martial arts and fighting. Now I just lift weights and get strength to help off set my lack of trained fighting skills unfortunately, Lol. I bet someone with 20 years of experience like you could handle pretty much any average man if you had to defend yourself on the streets.
Toby...another great video. What separates you from other all others is the human side that you talk about. It's not just about gun mods and tricks. It's about understanding the inner working of the human mind and understanding what is going on inside. The advice you give here can easily be applied to all aspects of life. Thanks for the great content!!
Thank you for putting this video out there. These tips are great for mental health in a lot of situations outside of Fortnite too. 🙇♂️
This advice is actually really solid for any game really. Props to you bro for articulating your points so that it is incredibly easy to understand.
This is probably my number one flaw in the game! Perfect video for me right now. Been eating up your videos lately and have actually seen a lot of improvement. Got a Victory Royal twice in a row last night using your tips Toby. Thanks so much and keep up the good work!
At last! Someone talks about it.. Such anxiety is very real. Thanks for the tips Toby..
I rage WAY too much when I lose, thanks so much for this video!! Had lots of fun during Member Royale last night!
Really fun playing with you Toby in your FFA! Hoping to get a membership to bring my skills to the next level!
I appreciate what you said about the dialog in your head turning into your reality. Very true and wise to know.
Thanks for the vid Toby! I get so intense and aggravated when I lose! Needed this!!
A much needed video! That’s why I’m so happy to be a member! ❤
Thanks, Toby!
Bro that guy you was fighting who jumped in your car and you jumped in and yins were both driving together for a min was funny as hell man .
I gotta say.. Every time I get into a game.. I end up going in with the mindset of winning and something goes wrong.. And the problem is always followed by.. WTF, I came in with the purpose of winning and I lose I must suck.. After watching this video.. I learned a lot and will try to remember this isn't for millions of dollars for a win.. And if I somehow lose.. I somehow lost in a competition and forever see myself as a failure.. Thanks to this video.. I truly believe.. It will go a long way.. in making me calm down.. Again I am new to the channel and thus is older content.. But... It's also something we all need to remember and reflect on.. Thank you (bows to sensai)
Thanks, these maps are really helping me get better. I've only been playing since Dec 2023... so I have so much to catch up on and learn.
This was what we all needed from toby. Thanks❤
Great video! I’ve been trying to relay exactly this to my little dude. You articulate it well and provide well researched strategies and perspectives that have mega real world carry over. Nicley done fella!
Thx for all the tips, I'm hardstuck elite now, kinda good at tactics but struggling with anxiety in end-game sometimes, those maps really helped me
So cool you went to school for game design! More great wisdom from the master
Great topic for a video, Toby. Well done! Flow state is so important.
this video has helped me a lot. I only started playing fortnite this month but u have given the confidents to take battles. I also tried ranked today and in my third game i got 2nd place as kill leader so i gained a lot of percentage and ranked up to silver
Omg I needed this more than anything. 🙏
Thanks for all the helpful videos! So much great advice on basically everything!
Best video I have seen yet, thank you Toby ❤
This is very helpful and translates to anything competitive!!
This was very helpful thank you 😊
Absolutely love The Pit ZB 🙌 it’s a perfect place to up your combat skills
These are the type of videos l watch w a minimum of 3 times😂❤️🔥
Nice vid. Always learning from ya Toby. 😊
This was great video, I subbed
Been waiting for this helps in irl as well.
Great job Toby 💪🏽
The two things I struggle with the most is "dropping hot", I avoid all named/medallion POI's because when it feels like there is 10 other people around me it freaks me out. And the other is, poor weapon switching, even though I keep my loadout the same (or close, depending on the game), it feels like in the heat of the moment i forget which slot "x" weapon/item is on
Have you tried auto sort
The trick is to be confident in one thing, that you will have fun. If you aim for fun, your accuracy goes to 100%.
Brilliant game psychology!!
this really helped me out just yesterday my duo got sniped end game and it was a 2 v 1 with two sweats I didn’t clutch up almost got them but because I tensed up and got really nervous I didnt win
Man this is just a great life advice video
Toby, you are a genius, great video
I played 43 games of zero build and finally got a Victory Royale (a couple 2nd&3rd places along the way). I usually get about 7-12 elims and I find myself panicking in fights especially when the enemy has a nice skin and they’re using things like the grapple. I’m still learning what the best places are to drop and attarchments to run n the best guns and your videos really help. This is a dope vid and some great advice for me personally. Hope I can get my 2nd victory Royale soon😂
Wow! This was a very informative video Toby! Thanks! That's why you are the teacher!
Very helpful I am high stung as heck lol so watching to the end😂 thank you Toby I do not have these skills...in game or life so this is helpful really thank you very analytical sir and so true
Toby your advice is golden! I’m a 75 yr old and for a long time I felt overpowered by hot young players (when you kill me guys you’re killing a great grandmother - game name Jezzybel) but I stopped caring so much and even started to laugh at some battle situations. Now it’s more fun 😉
I feel like this is an answer to a recent chat in Discord, your addressing this in a video is awesome, because not everyone pays attention to the chat. The thing that is most important is confidence mixed with some fear. I use my anxiety to keep my attention on environment so I know my escapes if I need them. And practice does build confidence, you learn by dying. Because you get to see what went wrong. But don’t get over confident, you can be confident and make dumb decisions. And you can be anxious and make smart ones.
That's good advice bro. Nice content
What really helped me was playing a lot of team rumble
Toby is highkey a philosopher 🔥
I do consider myself a stoic :)
so good what a video Toby super good content
Gotta keep a “Can Do” attitude when battling, because that “cant’t do” attitude will lead you straight to defeat before you even give combat a real try
A good one too say is good warmup
Thanks for the tips, Toby! Ever since I started playing FN I kept getting stressed and anxious about things such as dying and this is the only game I have these issues in. Also I'm wanting to stream this game one day so Im hoping that these tips help when the time comes!
Life Coach Shinobi with another banger!!!! ❤
Fantastic video. I know you have a plethora of good videos out there but this one really hit for me. I went in for Fortnite tips only to want you as my life coach lmfao. I hope more people find your channel and give you the support you deserve. 🙏
I definitely need to work on my self talk that’s for sure
Thank you for this video, Toby! This is a masterclass lesson on life, not just great Fortnite tips!
Along with deep breaths, relax your grip. Let go of the death grip. Tense muscles decrease fine motor control.
i watched your server settings i will try it
Toby i gotta say im loving your channel, i really like your content, i been watching these last few days non stop, i wish id found your channel sooner.. Whenever i get combat anxiety, i trick myself into thinking that i dont care about Fortnite, for some reason that really helps me always, and i get so calm that i just focus, sometimes i even catch myself singing some random song while im getting frags, sounds weird but thats what works for me.. I also been playing this game since it came out.
hey toby, not for only the game but you tought me the biggest lesson of my life. thank you.btw love rom india
Great vid as always by the master, I've found just switching off the audio and practicing gun fights without the drama sound effects bring to Fortnite close quarters battles is a way to learn to stay calm during heated moments. So what you get killed but you'll be surprised how calm gun fights become without the distraction of audio! Find your zen and bring back the noise!
thankx bro; i,m new in fortnite, Now I have problems with sensitivity, but I've gotten a lot better at collecting medallions and facing the crazy people who come for me
definitely a great video
Awesome video i just subscribed👍👍
I play the pit and it helped alot
Another great video!
My man I needed to hear this. It’s funny how we can give good advise at times but not listen to our own advise. I’m always dropping knowledge like this to my son but at many times I forget to follow through myself. I guess I just need to hear it too. It’s why your my support-a-creator in Fortnite. Always dropping great knowledge. Will be checking out those maps and adding this video to my get good Fortnite playlist for when I need to cool off or get that reminder. Play to get better while staying competitive.
Thank you. A lot of times a player starts shooting me a it makes jump and I end up throwing the mouse on the floor 😂
This is the goated video of all time !!! 🎉
Thanks for this vid mate it really helps I’m sure going to get to elite after this and you have got a sub from me ❤ Also, just played your new map using the code in the description and it really helped me out I would definitely recommend this map to other people because it helps you out a lot and it’s very realistic.
Cheeeeers toby! Thanks!
I find having a healthy positive balanced lifestyle (as previously mentioned by Toby) really helps and reflects in how I play.
If I’ve done my chores and helped those I’m responsible for and feel positive and confident in myself and my personal life then this reflects in my gaming life. The 2 are of course linked. Getting enough sleep, eating healthier, getting out for walks etc. ❤
Crazy.. this video is what i thougt i i nederdelen to find yesterday and today here it is.😂
Great vídeo as usual. And I've already thought about the first tip several times: why are you so nervous with sweaty hands? It's a videogame!!! But I still get nervous as my life depended on It. 🤣🤣🤣
Top quality content!
As a combat vet it was life and death’s for me at one point. I do however see the value in training to build confidence!
Hey, Toby, do you have any tips on how to practice better positioning?
I know saying it is so different I try to ease up and have fun but I still get it the combat anxiety. In creative I'm ok but soon as I'm in ZB all hell break loose. Still learning
Yo, good content as always ,what do you think of analysing some games from you subscribers?
This is magical content of conscious Fortnite gameplay! ✨ Great video my Fortnite brother! 🧡
Noticed a bow emote. That's my favourite one. My son said it's lame and I'm probably the only one using it. I guess not, haha.
1:36 Not worried per-say just treating every game like FNCS Grand Finals to lock in harder than any two-factor authenticating, face identifying, six-digit numeric passcode
You ask “Why so anxious?”
What people practice, they improve at… & most folks don’t practice calm.
Just like every historical war or battle, one big factor in winning for me is play and start the match accepting you’ll most likely be killed early on. Or atleast be unable to hit #1.
Get use to that mind set of being okay with loosing.
And once you do that, you’ll play smooth and calm cause if you do die it’s almost expected and when you win it makes those W’s all the more worth it.
this is life advice
Nice video as always Toby!! The thing that bothers me the most lately is that right after I lose, I diminish myself and get really frustrated and disappointed at my performance at the game. I often end up at 2° place and that's it. Maybe it all has to do with my mental state that is not the healthiest lately, a lot of bad thoughts running in my mind, because I really didn't used to let this sort of stuff get to me before
i struggle to turn quickly and reboot ammo we in RSA and use muiddle east servers it makes fighting a little slower i really want to get lots of kills and be great at my game
become a menace, that's how you win
Another tip, play duos with a much weaker player. My son and I play. I carry business case and heals, he rushes duos. Occasionally I get to revive him, but we win (non-ranked) quite a lot now.
Havnt seen any other streamers talk about this subject. Love it!
Trained on your map. Love & favorited! Only request... Please take out that blade. 🤣✌️
It's only in for as long as the tmnt mythics are in the game... it's the closest thing to them.
@TobyWanShinobi I figured as much. Still, layout and size of the map is fun... I've went back to it a few times already. Thanks for the time and effort on it! ✌️
I just know that I'll win. I'm self assured in knowing it's just a game I just have a knowing. Too much to explain here. If I lose then I just start again 😎 also you Obi-Wan Kenobi 😁🙌🏼 have helped me tremendously so thank you
All my homies love this type of positivity
Are you using an eye tracker on your streams? I notice it every few videos and always wonder what the little circle moving around
I did, but I no longer do it because it's exhausting having everyone accuse me of cheating haha
I do agree with practicing in similar situations to actual gameplay. One of the reasons I was turned off from the zero build pit map this season was it just feels completely different from real matches. Nothing looks the same, the buildings are completely different, you can't destroy anything, you have literal wall hacks. I just didn't feel like it was a good practice area for me and left.
Agreed
