I won my first game of this season earlier today by sneaking around a bush, out of my opponent's sight, who was very busy strategically right-shoulder-peeking and hopping and moving and shooting at the bush, and then I shot a fireball in his face. He had 19 eliminations, I had three. Statistically, technically, I shouldn't have won, but I did. Wins aren't always guaranteed and playing just to win can take the fun out of it. Sometimes you win by sheer luck or stupidity, that's what keeps this game entertaining for me!
You sure you're not underestimating the power of the bush? Or is the point of your comment that you were lucky to have a bush on you and they didn't because it seemed like your opponent would know the value of it? This video helped me see that there's even a benefit to using them in front of your opponent (ie., w/o ambushing them). It's like you're taking away most of their ability to hit headshots on you, if not make them miss you entirely.

I actually never thought of pre placing the portals as an exit before than just throwing it as I run cause I thought it would disappear after a few seconds of not using so I had to throw and use it.
I have only played a handful of games this season but struggling more than usual... this will definitely help that so I can stop and smell the Japanese cherry blossoms before being sent back to the lobby in tears... thanks!
It’s crazy how sweaty solo pubs are right now l I just play for fun but it’s like playing against kids that act like they will die in real life if they lose a pub match 😂😂. It’s kind of wild but still I love the new season !!
Got our first dub in builds! It was a lot of fun. We also got a dub in ZB. We've been playing with void mask and (sometimes) typhoon blade. We've been placing top ten almost every match though in builds, however ZB is really sweaty rn lol. My favorite gun hands down is Holo AR. I typically run precision SMG and holo AR then all mobility and shield fish as heals in Builds. The shotgun spammers will kill you if you have a typhoon blade if they have the autoshotty. Best Boon = Void Boon. I also took your advice and started practicing the new movement to get ahead of the curve. This is one of my favorite seasons! Thanks Toby for all the awesome content you put out!
Best fn strategy video I've seen yet. I've been struggling in chapter 6 on solo zb and after watching a couple of your videos I've gotten two crowns in one hour... which I'm pretty sure is a record for me 😂

Yeah I've been struggling so far because I get beamed instantly without being able to react. As for shotguns I've found success with the oni, being able to get solid shits with mid range is really helpful and it makes following up with an ar/smg much better
What setting or where to you get the red marking to show where a player is please? You used it when you first landed and also quite a few times during the video.
I am 60, pretty experienced with lots of wins in Zero but today is my first Chapter 6-1 game time so stumbled across you while searching for some tips on the new season (didn't want to go in 100% blind now did I 😉) And I've got to say I am super impressed straight off the bat ! Any character movement bugs reported in chapter 6 zero build? My character jogs then slows down briefly then jogs again. This a bug or possible stick drift issue?
@eboychacex231 I do too and am unreal in reload gonna hit unreal this season in br. I feel like the holo twister ar is a no brainer, but the auto just hits nonstop hitting for 12 from not even that far away.
@@eboychacex231 I’ve also been very used to the auto shotgun meta. Started in chapter 5 so never really used the hammer. But this season there is a bigger gap between pump and auto this time pump on top
@@TyreseHaliburtonIsHim I always 3 shot everyone with the auto shotty and can squad wipe easily. Just jump right on their face. If the other player misses a pump its over and most players shoot the pump when they are too far. Ive gotten so many solo vs squad wipes with the auto shotty especially since missing doesnt cost the game. I just know so well how to use it
I often find myself hesitating between the suppressed pistol and the veiled smg, the suppressed is sooo good but I was always kinda scared to make a mistake by choosing it over the veiled but apparently not haha :)

Same, controller definitely has a disadvantage when it comes to switching between weapons. You literally have to cycle through them with R1 and L1. On keyboard they can just press one of the keybinds and instantly switch to that weapon
You can set up your weapon switching to advance bindings in the aim settings or general controller area. It takes some getting used to but after about 10 games using it i can't go back. You hold down in think it's the left bumper or l1, and then square, x, triangle or circle and it will switch directly to which item or weapon you like. Also set up your customized slots in wheat slots you prefer to have what item/ weapon. I personally like to have my mobility items (shock wave, mask, bush, bunkers...) at the far right which would be x to switch to. I prefer my close up weapons in my first slot, then a sword in either the first or second slot so that I can switch back and forth just by tapping the switch weapon button (i think it's l1), this is great for Toby 's tips with the blade, break camera movement with the blade, tap to switch to close up (smg for me), then tap switch back to the blade, tap back... I have my assault rifles and long range assigned to the third slot (triangle button), heals to the 4th (circle button).

Question for you, Toby: what advice would you give to a player who has played the game a bunch (around 100ish hours each season since Ch3S4 and sporadically over the seasons prior to that), but has kind of hit a wall in the Champion rank. That seems to be where I’ve been topping out for like a year now and I can’t seem to make the jump to Unreal consistently. How can an experienced player who is pretty dang good already get to that highest level?
Have you been recording your games and watching them back, analyzing and finding your mistakes? Then writing them down and writing what you will do in the future?

One thing i started doing with the sword is rolling instead of sliding when landing to get some stamina back. Great vid though, helped me out. Edit: just finished the vid and realized you mentioned it at the end!
I'll argue the oni shot gun with the fire boon/fast reload and demon dojo medallion is a good combo if you wanna run shottys. Gold oni shot guns can one shot you full shield.

Mask is so cool, if you are positioned well late in the game you can get a portal down dead side of zone and hold people on frontside. If it gets too hot you can mask right to a safe spot!
I haven't run that mask yet because I'm a Shockwave Grenade supremacist, but after watching this video, it made me realize there are creative ways to escape and fool people. You've opened my third eye.
Hi shinobi, DO you have a windows configuration guide? because I play on a 180hz monitor and have an AMD 5700x3d and rtx 3070 and suffer from severe sttutering on "performance settings" so I have to play dx12. Thanx
If you notice, Toby always has a plan before the first shot is fired. Whether that's getting high ground first, setting up a void, or knowing your out if you get in trouble. Having a plan greatly reduces reaction time. With hit scan though if you get caught in the open, you're pretty much done for. If you have no choice, have that Shockwave in hand while you're moving out in the open.
@@EthanTyler__yep what this guy said…if I’m using a vehicle I almost always have my movement item as my last item equipped so I can use it without thinking if needed. The hitscan weapons are pretty brutal…you’re either doing all the damage or taking it 😂 was the same thing for a couple seasons in chapter 4 but we had those legendary slurp heals that really helped out if you got caught in the open lol

Hi Toby i tried going to the custom map to try out practicing my movement (still having a time with the wall kicks) and it kept giving me a matchmaking error code after I tried to que into it. Also amazing tips! Me and hubby tested a few out it was amazing!
Pistols have always been underrated in my opinion For example i started playing in chapter 4 season 1 and we had the tactical pistol and of you could get the augment you could Get the mythic one and it would hit like a truck. Then when we got attachments in later updates you could Put a scope and extended magazine on it that thing would Beam. And now this one that absolutely destroys❤ Pls reply master Toby wan

I haven't had any yet, try setting your dead zone for your left stick higher to see if it goes away...
My loadout : scoped ak ,Auto Shotgun with reload medallion, void mask, bunkers and shields. bunkers are NEEDED

@@Northtendosame bud, my son got me into playing. I’ve got a month or so under my belt lucky for us we found Toby when we did. He’s the best at tips, tricks and strats. I don’t even care to watch anyone else.

Hi Toby i tried going to the custom map to try out practicing my movement (still having a time with the wall kicks) and it kept giving me a matchmaking error code after I tried to que into it. Also amazing tips! Me and hubby tested a few out it was amazing!

I've been finding firing in 2-shot bursts to be quite effective outside of a gun's ideal range
I prefer bulletdrop in stead of hitscan
