Alex Hefner Im so glad you love Trivium, I first heard them in 2003 When Ember to Inferno came out, back then they had Travis Smith their original drummer who was a beast, unfortunatly he had some issues with other band mates and they moved on. But when I heard Ember to inferno it was the song falling to grey that hooked me to Trivium. I was at a dark place in my life and was really depressed and in a destructive phase, for a few years I kind of wandered and I remember wanting to end it all. That same day Ascendancy came out and I gave it a listen, it sounds crazy but when I heard this album it changed my life, I got hooked into the lyrics of A gunshot to the head of trepidation and I latched onto it, Honestly without this band I dont know were id be. Thankfully I got to see them 4 times before travis smith left "seen them 21 times in total" but after he left they kind of struggled and wondered between drummers untill Alex Bent came along, His drumming allowed Matt, Corey and Paolo to actually write and construct music they wanted to. for me his arrival breathed new life into the band. Now seeing them 21 times I have a few great memories, One of them was when they played in my hometown of Spokane on September 27th, this was the day the great cliff burton of metallica passed away and in his honor they played for whom the bell tolls, And I love Matt Heafy vocals but a few years ago when his wife was giving birth matt had to leave the tour and I got to see Howard Jones and Jarrod Dines step up. Alex I have been watching you from almost the begining and this is my first comment. Its been cool seeing your journey and I love how you keep it real and you can see the music flowing through you as you listen to it. Wow, that was a hell of a lot better than I was expecting. They've dropped the metalcore influence completely and added more melodic death and thrash metal. Sounds a bit like Dark Tranquility meets Testament. Well done. This is the best song you've done recently. You should react to both those bands I've mentioned. All-female Japanese metal band in maid outfits. From their latest album. Richie Kotzen - Fooled Again OR Bad Situation (Both live in Tokyo) Blues rock with fantastic guitar work. Voice sounds like Cornell from Soundgarden. Both of these live versions really show off his skills. The Winery Dogs - Hot Streak OR Elevate Rock supergroup with Kotzen (above) on guitar and vocals. Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater on drums. Billy Sheehan from Mr. Big on bass. Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere But Not Here Progressive rock band that is kind of like Pink Floyd meets Tool with a touch of Beatles psychedelic. This song was my introduction to them. 12 minutes with an incredible build. Stick with it. Steven Wilson - Refuge (Studio OR Home Invasion Live) Pink Floydish tune by the singer/guitarist of Porcupine Tree (above). Studio version has a killer harmonica solo. Live has better vocals and guitar solos, but no harmonica. Your pick. The Pineapple Thief - Alone at Sea (Live from Where We Stood) Modern progressive rock band often compared to Porcupine Tree. This live version has better guitar work than the studio version. Flying Colors - The Loss Inside Progressive rock band with Steve Morse killing it on guitar. Rishloo - Feathergun in the Garden of the Sun Another progrock band more along the lines of Porcupine Tree and Pineapple Thief. Really great vocals and song changes. Alice in Chains - Them Bones You've heard AIC before. This one should not be missed. Solid crunching metal. Ling tosite Sigure - Enigmatic Feeling Japanese math rock/post-hardcore band. Falsetto vocals and odd time signatures. OP song to the anime Psycho-Pass 2. Make sure you get the full version. TK from Ling tosite Sigure - Unravel Singer/guitarist from Ling tosite Sigure. One of the most popular anime OP songs from Tokyo Ghoul. Make sure you get the full version. Sokoninaru - re:program Another Japanese math rock/post-hardcore band. Similar in style to Ling tosite Sigure. More trade-offs between singers. A lot more guitar tapping.

I recently discovered this band Polaris, they kick ass. I'd recommend reacting to Hypermania, Masochist, or Landmine. They are Australian so you know they gonna be good just judging from the fact that I haven't heard a bad Australian bad (Parkway Drive and, and Thy Art Is Murder are some of my favorites).

The album this is on is called "What the Dead Men Say". A common theme in the last album was people being silenced by ostracism or death. I feel like there's a bit of a sequel feel.

You've heard them before. All-female Japanese metal band in maid outfits. From their latest album.
Richie Kotzen - Fooled Again OR Bad Situation (Both live in Tokyo)
Blues rock with fantastic guitar work. Voice sounds like Cornell from Soundgarden. Both of these live versions really show off his skills.
The Winery Dogs - Hot Streak OR Elevate
Rock supergroup with Kotzen (above) on guitar and vocals. Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater on drums. Billy Sheehan from Mr. Big on bass.
Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere But Not Here
Progressive rock band that is kind of like Pink Floyd meets Tool with a touch of Beatles psychedelic. This song was my introduction to them. 12 minutes with an incredible build. Stick with it.
Steven Wilson - Refuge (Studio OR Home Invasion Live)
Pink Floydish tune by the singer/guitarist of Porcupine Tree (above). Studio version has a killer harmonica solo. Live has better vocals and guitar solos, but no harmonica. Your pick.
The Pineapple Thief - Alone at Sea (Live from Where We Stood)
Modern progressive rock band often compared to Porcupine Tree. This live version has better guitar work than the studio version.
Flying Colors - The Loss Inside
Progressive rock band with Steve Morse killing it on guitar. Definitely more of a 70s feel than the two bands above. Portnoy from Dream Theater on drums. Just a solid rock song.
Rishloo - Feathergun in the Garden of the Sun
Another progrock band more along the lines of Porcupine Tree and Pineapple Thief. Really great vocals and song changes.
Alice in Chains - Them Bones
You've heard AIC before. This one should not be missed. Solid crunching metal.
Ling tosite Sigure - Enigmatic Feeling
Japanese math rock/post-hardcore band. Falsetto vocals and odd time signatures. OP song to the anime Psycho-Pass 2. Make sure you get the full version.
TK from Ling tosite Sigure - Unravel
Singer/guitarist from Ling tosite Sigure. One of the most popular anime OP songs from Tokyo Ghoul. Make sure you get the full version.
Sokoninaru - re:program
Another Japanese math rock/post-hardcore band. Similar in style to Ling tosite Sigure. More trade-offs between singers. A lot more guitar tapping.
A very beautiful and touching song called "we are the others" by delaine that I believe you will enjoy as well.
Carach Angren - The Funerary Dirge of the Violinist. Something a little different than what you have been listening to lately.

I recently discovered this band Polaris, they kick ass. I'd recommend reacting to Hypermania, Masochist, or Landmine. They are Australian so you know they gonna be good just judging from the fact that I haven't heard a bad Australian bad (Parkway Drive and, and Thy Art Is Murder are some of my favorites).

The album this is on is called "What the Dead Men Say". A common theme in the last album was people being silenced by ostracism or death. I feel like there's a bit of a sequel feel.
Need to get them graded, but I've got a Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card and an Upper Deck Michael Jordan baseball card I've been sitting on for years. Hopefully that popularity hits the old cards too.
