hello to all. this is Kathy from Idaho, speaking of a 4 shaft loom, are the patterns different for direct tie up than for a loom that has more treddles that shafts. I would love to weave more on my 4 shaft direct tie up. also can you mix 8/2 with 8/4 or any other yarn , I know you talked about this before. I have hand spun wool, what can I do with it other than make scarves, and how do I "wash" it with out it shrinking or whatever .

@@marvinrust6478 Hi Kathy! Great questions! Yes, you can do all the same things on your direct tie-up loom that you can on any other loom. Do you have something specific you'd like to tackle?
You can definitely mix your cottons. Just be aware that the change in sizes can do quirky things, like a thinner weft may naturally draw in more than a thicker weft.

@@marvinrust6478 Oh. I know I missed one! The handspun wool! Because I don't work with a lot of wool, I'm not comfortable advising you on the best way to treat it. But I think you can definitely use it in additional products besides scarves. I have a small lap blanket woven out of wool that I absolutely love!
