THIS technique WORKS Beautifully!!!!! I'm not advanced yet when I followed the instructions here the blocks point up and its a great feeling to see that happening!!! I have ordered a glue stick for quilting...that will make the experience even more fun! I have used Creative Grids..rulers before with great success and satisfaction! I ordered the Fussy Cut Square Up ruler!!! Im enjoying making these!!! THANK YOU...Oh one more discovery: IF I didn't get the seams matched on one or both strips. I can carefully remove a seem...line them up and sew again...and presto...matched...(Hopefully that won't happen when I get the glue stick...pinning is not really the way I want to go)

I have been watching quilting videos for quite some time; have been "teaching" some of the methods learned, but, really like the idea of the fabric glue stick and lining up the seams. will certainly give that a try. Thanks for the idea.

Spell the name of the ruler. I couldn't understand it on the video. Where would I be likely to find it?

I'm not using glue or spray baste. It gums up the machine. I've seen it and it isn't pretty.

@@VeeVeeVeeV I haven't been using it. I tried it in 2001. Never again! Besides I have breathing issues. Aresolized glue is not good. My doctor has warned me about using hair spray. It's not for everyone. Safety pins are how I baste, 1.5".

That’s why she doesn’t put it in the stitching line. Also, with spray basting, fusible batting, or adhesive backed stabilizer for machine embroidery, I use a drop of Sewer’s Aid by Prym-Dritz on my needle. I also use it for sewing thick fabrics like crossing denim seams. If your machine is skipping stitches & you’ve already changed your needle, put a bead of Sewer’s Aid down the side of your spool. Works like magic!
It comes in a 1/2 oz. bottle a little smaller than Fray Chek & is often found in the same area of the store.
