"Boris' tour manager [Tomas of Saade] is Czech. He travels with us for both our European and our American tours. You could say he is a member of Boris at this point. He introduced us to a bunch of metal bands that were from the country when it was still called Czechoslovakia. He gave us a bunch of vinyl, and that's where the inspiration from that song comes from. We made the title straightforward - Czechoslovakia." -- Atsuo, Boris
This is fuckIN' AWeSomE! Boris are so rad. They can go all over the place, and even if they play a song with like only 3 chords, they just always manage to turn it into something engaging, original, and relevant (as far as I am concerned). I finally got "Klatter", and I am looking forward to hearing "Heavy Rocks"...
I can't say I agree with your point of view, but this song is unique in their catalogue and kryptulator already explained why they recorded it. Also, Boris is known for being very versatile, so change is nothing new for this band. Amp Worship and Flood are good albums, but you can't just base your opinion on one, as you said, "excessive" song.
man. they used to be so good before they got indie-famous and started doing way too much coke. listen to this shit. excess. they will never make another album like amp worship or flood
they are still pumping out great music and even if not all of it holds up to their previous quality (a lot of it does) it still is different and you can tell they are trying to avoid the monotony of many mainstream metal artists process. i know this comment is 11 years old but i just can't see any era of boris falling into this description

just curious. any of you boris fans would know, why or what story is behind naming this track czechoslovaika?
I can't help myself... it sounds a bit like a song by czech thrash band Arakain mixed with newer bands Lahar or Radiolokátor =)
is this real?
