Hi Stephanie, I really enjoy watching your videos. I was wondering when you first started out in your boot camp how many hours a day did you work on assignment etc?

So the assignments varied, some were larger tasks vs smaller, but I would say minimum of an hour. Thank you for watching!

Hey Stephanie! I’m currently pursuing the Google UX Design certificate through coursera and watching your channel gives me so much insight! I do have a question about user stories. We learned that user stories happen in the empathy phase which comes before the design phase but they way you explained it seems as though you design the product first and then create a user story based on the design. Can you please provide some clarification to the process?

Hello! So user stories can be used in two ways. They can be an extension of user persona, which is what you're mentioning in the empathy phase. But they are also used in product management, specifically agile software development, which is how my company uses it. Hopefully that makes sense!

Great video Stephanie! Question- I am an MBA student (graduating in August) and have been in my current govt job for 4 months. Luckily through persistent networking, I was able to meet with the UX/UI Manager, way opposite from the current department I am in. She wanted to meet with me after I expressed interest in shadowing her team. In addition, she sent me a step by step guide and courses to partake in for some UX boot camp. Anyways, we met over Teams and had a great convo , then her team lead invited me to their morning meeting the week afterwards. And I sacrificed to pay for that bootcamp, as this is my dream career (currently doing UX,UI, and Product Mgmt Cerifications). I wanted to know, should I sign up for a second master degree in computer engineering after I finish my MBA in August? Especially considering I want to move from Product Designer to a Corporate Level position in the future? Also, is this a sign that they want me to join their team? What are some tips to keep things going to eventually land a UX role with my company? (PS- I have not done UX a day in my life )

Hello! I think that is a very strong sign that they are interested in you potentially joining their team. If UX is your dream career and long-term where you want to be, then you won't need a master's degree in engineering to do so. You have an amazing in with your current company so I would show them that you're taking your bootcamp seriously, maybe ask the UX team for feedback on projects, whatever you can do to keep yourself on the forefront of their mind when it's time to hire!

I'm gonna do a interactive media degree for 4 years. Is it worth to do it to become a ux designer

You don't specifically need that background to become a designer, but it couldn't hurt!
