Hya Nobbygreen, It is Ray in Florida.
Somehow I missed an update to the sfety fly database.
I like the fact you always make others aware of any changes & updates.
I just did the 3 Classic for the big boy and it went up yesterday as cold as it was here.
Florida is seeing colder than normal temps more the February ones, clouds and damp as well.
I saw the sky for the update in this video and it gave me a chill, LOL.
The rain has been okay but the wind, cold, and dampness is not welcomed at all!!
It was nice to see you enjoying a flight as always.
Tomorrow if it is sunny I will take the old mini 3 pro up and do a flight.
I do not do much outside in the winter as it reminds me of NJ in the N/E.
It is also a lot safer here away from Biden, HAHA.
I am looking for just 1 extended range battery for the Mini 4 Pro.
Not many at a reasonable price though.
I use the normal one for updates and testing and a mini 3 pro battery for a flight.
Hint: Notice some replies that think this is bout the Mini 2, LOL
Hey Ray. You’re not the first to mention the weather in Florida. You can update the database at anytime. As for the update it’s for all DJI models as it’s a fly update. Keep safe and warm buddy 👍

With the RCN1 and the Mini 2 I don't get a prompt for updating the DJI Fly app, it wants to stay at version 1.11.4. Is this something you could expect with my ancient hardware, or? Best regards/Johan
You don’t usually get prompts on the mini 2. Best to check on the App Store or DJI downloads for Android. 1.11.4 is quite old now 👍

Sorry but mine cut out multiple times when doing 3 separate flights. Rolled back 2 versions and all working perfectly.

Mines still on 01.00.0150 (drone) and the controller 04.4.00.37 with 1.12.4 app version.
Not sure whether to upgrade or not and what features im 'missing' out on.
Well there’s not much difference between the two fly app versions. Depends on what drone you are flying too 👍

Highly interesting video.
So the update is the same for both the RC and the RC pro.
Both my controllers tell about updates waiting but due to the 120 meter circus the updates are not accepted.
Still searching for the information about the content of updates but finding everything else....
It’s only available for the phones at the moment 👍

That explains it. I've tried from the Pc. Low memory capacity phone so I'm restrictive to downloading apps.

Thanks, great info. Also tried to get answers from DJI about this mystery update, "Fixed certain issues....blah,blah..." 🧐. the response was -
"Hi there, this is Daniel from DJI! Thank you for reaching out. The new version includes Vision Assist, which is now available on the DJI Air 3 and DJI Mini 4 Pro, allowing users to view live footage from aircraft's front, rear, left, and right directions during flight for enhanced safety.
Added support for manual import of dynamic safety databases in the EASA member states and the UK to comply with local regulations related to unmanned aircraft".
Mind you, the Air 3 and Mini 4 updates where addressed in a prior version last month. So my responce was then:
"Daniel Elson ps: checked ✔ various model Release Notes and User Manuals and the only thing NEW with a 2024 date was Mini 3 Pro User Manual - even though the Version has not changed!!! To summarize: there are changes made without version control or documentation!!!

Hi, I keep up with all the fly app updates but sometimes my RC 2 controller screen will suddenly change to the home screen, then I have to tap go fly in the lower right corner to get the camera view and telemetry back. Any ideas?
This can happen if you touch the screen slightly with your palms. 👍

Depends if you are using Android or iOS. You need to go to the App Store or DJI mobile downloads for Android. It’s only available for phones at the moment. 👍

After updating your firmware, make sure you verify that your defaults haven't been overwritten by the update.
