    Wish I had had a helper this pretty yesterday when replacing my air register in the ceiling!
    What a pain. Getting the old register out was a bear, bc it was masticed to the drywall, and I had to use my oscillating saw to get between the drywall and the metal support bracket. Without that tool I don't know how I could've done it.
    But I like the new MasterFlow Greenboot registers which have the insulation on the OUTSIDE and not the inside where mold can grow

    you should put some hvac tape around that gap between the boot and the drywall. I had to do that around a few of my vents. No one wants heat loss. Great vid!

    What do you suggest if I have 10 x 8 x 3 duct opening? Most of the available sizes now are 10 x 4 and 10 x 6.

    • @DaruDhillon
      @DaruDhillon  Год назад

      This is the only size available that I know of. It’s such a good product they should make them in other sizes as well.

      6x14 Inch.
      4x10 Inch.
      4x12 Inch.

      Very timely. I just replaced 2 of my bathroom exhaust fans: one from in the attic; the other from underneath in the bathroom.

      I haven’t come across anything comparable made in the US or elsewhere. These Clean Cover style registers are the most popular style here in Toronto and are made in Canada. A lot of my favourite home improvement products on this channel are 🇺🇸 and 🇨🇦 made. Ultimately, quality, reliability and affordability are all important. 👍🏽

    Old style are way better cause you can move them around for direction of air flow. Looks like you can’t move air direction with these

    • @DaruDhillon
      @DaruDhillon  Год назад +1

      Good point Juan! They sell a damper for this unit to direct and close air flow. I haven't tried them out yet.

      What I’ve done when on a budget is use one for the high traffic area of a home that’s really noticeable. Less noticeable areas use regular ones. I hear you. Staying within budget is key!

    What are you screwing it into? That's the problem for me!

    • @DaruDhillon
      @DaruDhillon  Год назад

      The vent screws directly into your metal duct boot. That's the beauty of it. It doesn't screw into your drywall or ceiling. This design actually stays up and sits flush with your ceiling. No backing or anchors required. I use them all the time. I hope that helps! Thanks for the question. It's a good one! 👍
