    Amazing packing. It reminds me of our military moves and my hubby was a loadmaster so he always packed us and we always moved ourselves. Never had one thing break or whatever.........the craziest thing was having the hand lawn mower tied underneath the carriage of the uhaul in pieces and hung in a rope swing he devised and it made it to Wash also and we used it for years........LOL You can do it! Great job and excited to see you unload it.
    God bless

    I just built out a crate inside our long distance 16' POD to allow our tempurpedic to lay flat. Packed more on top of that... it's basically a dance floor. And we still need another one. The ones that move long distances are made of carbon fiber/steel... no wood so I had to work on securing things differently.

    How much (approx.) did you spend in packing equipment (fabric, plastic wrap, boxes)?

    • @TheKraemerLife
      @TheKraemerLife  3 года назад

      Not much...we purchased one roll of plastic everything else we had. We used rope, ratchet straps, and fabric that I plan to use and bedding that we were keeping to wrap items with. All in around $30.

    Well Nate made sure he got all his tools LOL...good going going...7 X 7 X 8 Whoa I know those things are expensive but I am not sure I would have even attempted to get that size for even half the things it appears you all packed in there. I am opting to not take my time and have hubby drive a 26' Moving truck , All the animals won't fit in my car so I think some can ride with him in the truck and that will help with that portion of stuff. I will leave stuff behind before I leave any of my furkids behind or make any of the uncomfortable. Its so expensive to get a pods vs moving truck even with the price of gas. I will say I am wanting to downsize and get rid of so much stuff I have I know I don't need but I don't have time to work, make money, look for where to move, and all the things and try and sell stuff off so I am going to do whatever I can to be sure to take whatever I have to and worry about opening a store or something wherever we go and selling the stuff LOL

    • @TheKraemerLife
      @TheKraemerLife  2 года назад

      We downsized before we got the POD. They are expensive but convenient to store and ship once you are ready. We gambled that it would be cheaper than having to re-up have everything again.

    Do you have to worry about moisture with the plastic on your items in storage? Or are POD moisture control? Great packing.

    • @TheKraemerLife
      @TheKraemerLife  3 года назад +1

      PODS are not a controlled environment and moisture is a huge concern. Everything that we wrapped in plastic we first wrapped in fabric to help protect the items. We hope that the furniture will be alright when we get the POD back and unpack everything.

      I just inquired yesterday about getting a POD for my parents home and was told the container is held in a controlled AC place.... you say it isn’t?

    • @TheKraemerLife
      @TheKraemerLife  3 года назад +1

      @@dmlkcs8620 I was commenting on the POD itself not where they are stored. I have used them several times over the years and haven't had any issues. Also, it may depend on where you are keeping it as the facilities could be different. I do not remember them telling us our was in a temperature controlled area but it is in Oregon where it is pretty mild weather.

    One more question please. I want to bring all my cleaning stuff, Ajax, Lysol, dawn dish detergent, etc. Did you. Pack any of that stuff in the pod? I know they don’t want liquids, but I spend tons of money at Costco on this shit and I don’t want to rebuy it.

    • @TheKraemerLife
      @TheKraemerLife  2 года назад

      We didn't pack that type of stuff. But I'd imagine it would be ok as long as you put it in some sort of container, like a tote with a latching lid. Our stuff in the PODS was in the exact same position when it arrived in TN as it was when it was picked up in OR. So I don't think there was much "jostling" around.
