I kind of feel like these are no different than astrology signs or other personality tests. I easily fit into all four categories. Or that just means my personality is smack dab in the center. As for killers I think the other negative when designing a game for them is that they are the most mechanic focused group. And because of that they only like focusing on getting good at specific games. That's why no matter how many new arena shooters come out most lovers of the genre will quickly go back to playing Quake or Unreal a few months later.

I'm an INTP and I feel like I'm smack dab in the middle of Achiever and Explorer, whichever I lean towards at any particular moment is dependent on my mood. I'm a completionist who vastly enjoys single player games the most, and I like to focus on self mastery and fully exploring a game's mechanics to their fullest potential.

Def a killer/socializer (doesn't sound good lmao). But pking with others in runescape was peak enjoyment for me and I'm pretty sure it's because of that perfect blend

I'm a killer achiever... if I can kill people while also achieving and showing off my kills and getting more power to kill more... this gets me hooked. basically WoW PVP or mobas

You misunderstood killers to a degree and kind of spread the misunderstanding by only talking about toxic killers. Killers like acting upon others rather than interacting with others or acting upon the world. This doesn't necessarily mean griefing them though that is the most common, it means you find enjoyment from seeing human/human like reactions from your actions upon the characters in the game and or the other players. This can be killing/griefing, but it can also be completing a quest for a character, giving items to another player, playing harmless pranks on other players: things that don't really involve two way interaction but often times gets a reaction from them whether positive or negative.

I think a better word for this category would probably be Catalyst as they like to be the one to spark a reaction.

I'm an INT/FJ and I definitely fall within social and explorer. I LOVE exploring and I LOVE games like Story of Seasons and playing MMOs with friends. Couldn't care less about PVP or achievements. Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U was a damn good exploring game. It was beautiful and there was soooo much to discover.

Great concepts here to tailor game dev and give the players what they are looking for, now I’m putting myself and all my friends into the category’s and it’s sparked some good game ideas. Really love the detail put into this video! Keep it up BMO

While I agree with some points I need to stress how much some of them lead you to everything bad that games industry is today. Please don't do these and instead of aiming purely for monetization aim to make your games GOOD, listen to Sid Meier on the subject.

So im definitely someone who sits right in the middle, why i think this? I think this because of all the different genres of games i play, everything from FPS Competitive Shooters to relaxing space exploration of No Mans Sky all the way around to the more social heavy co-op games like Final FantasyXIV Online, The achiever in me definitly loves 4X "Create your own Civilisation" style games also.

great concept you shared, though I think you could have presented them from a more objective place :) I'm an explorer and I don't think you described us well, and though I don't like Killers I felt like you gave them a bad shake. I think for these types of things the "different not bad" idea applies

being killers is fun. it's like achievers but instead of completing the game you are preventing others from doing so. lol
