    Gladiator with side of architect, kind of interesting.

    Again with the creepy timing Chris XD. I've wanted a Switch for four years now and just got one a week ago, and got Hollow Knight, Enter the Gungeon, Stardew Valley and Thumper a couple of days ago. I beat the first boss of Hollow Knight just before you uploaded.
    Beating it felt like truly reconnecting with videogames as a player again. I never used to get to play videogames much, and never had much to play on. During these years, my result would be Bard/Gladiator (since there's a primary and secondary type). After this video, I retook the test and got Gladiator/Bard. I'm an NiFe 9w1 952 so/sx RLOAI

    Im an INFP that scored bounty hunter with a gladiator wing, and I think that most accurately describes me. My all time favorite games are rpgs with vast worlds to explore and lore like Elder Scrolls games, Dishonored 1&2, Fallout series, Legend of Zelda games, Shadow of Mordor, etc (Dark Souls is actually next on my list to play and I already feel like it will be a favorite of mine). I love the feeling of discovery; how talking to one person can lead you on an amazing quest, or what you might find exploring an ancient ruin. Also anything where I basically become a god in the world is fun (lightning shooting out of my fingertips and all), a wide variety of enemies to battle, and character design is another favorite element of mine. I don’t necessarily need a “cinematic” experience but good story telling aspects, questlines, and extensive lore are essential imo.
    The gladiator subtype accounts for all the other games I’ve enjoyed; Halo installments and other fps games, fighting games like super smash bros brawl, racing games, Journey, Spyro, and for a time animal crossing (although i got bored after a while). I can appreciate many gameplay styles but I always go back to rpgs. I feel that as a system gamer personality type would correlate better with enneagram better than mbti.

  • @angelee9350
    @angelee9350 3 года назад +3

    I haven't considered myself as the hardcore type (the gladiator) but after taking the test and listening to Asura's analyzations, I can pretty much agree XD.
    Even though I don't spend most of my times playing games (yeah, school), but when I do play I take it VERY seriously. Maybe one thing why I became typed as hardcore was because I am particular of my whole experience in gaming. I tend to get bored easily when things get repetitive or when I feel there's nothing much going on anymore but that also depends on a lot of factors. An example would be playing with friends. I find that some games become boring overtime without people you can actually co-op with to play.

  • @gerardmonturiol6936
    @gerardmonturiol6936 3 месяца назад

    im not that hardcore, i just like games that makes me suffer, having to adapt fast, improve through many tryals, putting the hours, think and make a strategy, master the mechanics and only feel bits of satisfaction after beating hard bosses or beatting a great amount of players specially when i struggle to achive it.
    and just for that the test says im a gladiator type

  • @Swoldridge
    @Swoldridge 3 года назад +1

    Pretty cool you're talking about this. I actually took this months ago and funny enough I got the same exact type. I'm an INTJ and also play fighting games.
    Edit: I like the Civ, Age of Empires, and Total War type games in idea but the games don't work the way I would like.

  • @enfieldjohn101
    @enfieldjohn101 2 года назад

    I scored as Architect which doesn't surprise me much. While I do like to play other kinds of games for variety's sake now and then, I mainly play games that test my mental abilities more than my physical ones. I'd rather play a game that is about strategy than quick reflexes. If I can play a turn-based game that gives me all the time I want to make decisions and take action, so much the better. If I'm playing a real-time game, I don't like it unless there's a way for me to pause the game easily. The best real-time games, in my opinion, are the ones that are sort of hybrid real-time/turn-based in which you can pause the action of enemies & environment, but still be able to make decisions like changing equipment, setting tasks for characters, giving orders, etc. A good example of that system would be the Dragon Age and Baldur's Gate games in which you can 'program' the game to pause for various reasons so that you're given time to made decisions about how to deal with the situation that triggered the pause.
    One of my favorite game series is Fire Emblem because it is turn based and focuses on strategy while also having an engaging story and characters. Final Fantasy Tactics is another good example. These games are a lot like the tabletop strategy games that I enjoy like Warhammer and Heroscape. A Heroscape videogame would be fantastic, especially if it let you build the battlefield in a similar way to how you can with the tabletop game.
    I also enjoy playing games that task you with building things like cities, forts, etc. A good example of this genre is Stronghold which is still one of the best games of its type. A more recent version might be the Fallout Shelter game. I especially like the mode in Stronghold where you can build to your heart's content without being attacked and without having to manage the place so that you attract more people. Back in the day, I used to play a lot of Sim City and liked it, but I've found that I enjoy ones that have a more narrow focus on just one place like Stronghold even more. The more wide-scale games like Civilization and Sim City can be overwhelming sometimes.
    I do play other types of games like first person shooters, platformers, fighting, puzzle and tower defense games for variety but I still like the games in those genres best that don't require a constant rapid pace. For example, my favorite FPS game is Skyrim because you can get into frantic battles with ranged or melee weapons, but you can also avoid those most of the time when you want to, so it has plenty of cool-down moments that keep the combat from becoming too much for me. When I play more frantic FPS games like Unreal Tournament, it's only for short periods of time with long breaks between matches and only with other players who are good sports. I can't stand playing games against or in co-op with rude people.
    I'm not big on abstract puzzle games in which there's no rhyme or reason for it. I prefer ones like Puzzle Quest where there's still a story that gives you a reason to keep playing. I've been hooked on Tetris ever since it came out, but my favorite version is Tetris Worlds because it has a neat 'save the Tetrimos and terraform their planet' story hook in which their land goes from wasteland to habitat gradually as you free them from being trapped in the puzzle.

    I got slayer/bard and it pretty much fits. My immersion score was at 62% - I usually play rpg games with interesting stories and characters but I also like playing LoL/mmos/coop games with friends when we want to achieve something as a team.

  • @blankspace8800
    @blankspace8800 2 года назад

    INTJ - Architect/Slayer
    Can't say I'm to surprised tho I have been trying out more skill base/challenging game recently. (ex elden ring and hollow knight) Still can't help but look for their lore.
    I often like building up my characters strength to beat boss, story focused, and rpg games. ex Terraria, Witch 3, Prey, Stardew Valley, Bioshock, Outer worlds, Outer Wilds, Skyrim, and Fallout New Vegas were all great games for me.
    I don't often play grind type games like Stardew Valley or mmo such as wargame. I have to put an effort to stay playing a like warfame strictly for it's story however Stardew Valley hit a niche for me. Guess it falls under the architect.
    Outer Wilds was another outlier. It's an exploring type game but hit the story/rpg style I like. Basically you figure out a mystery and pieced the story together while dying every 20 min loop.

    This is really fascinating. I scored as Gardener first, Architect second. My percentages are: Immersion 62% (Fantasy 63% & Story 58%); Social 38% (Competition 37% & Community 42%); Creativity 26% (Discovery 7% & Design 62%); Achievement 22% (Completion 23% & Power 30%); Mastery 17% (Challenge 20% & Strategy 22%); then finally Action 6% (Excitement 6% & Destruction 13%).
    I’m not too surprised about my results, I knew I would score high on Immersion as well as Design. I thought maybe I would’ve gotten Architect first rather then second, but I think that’s because recently I haven’t been able to play games as much as I would’ve liked to. My younger self definitely would’ve scored differently.

  • @SpaceyFae
    @SpaceyFae 3 года назад +3

    I somehow ended up with Gladiator, which the description mostly fits. I don’t see myself as a hardcore gamer though. I will play just about anything and enjoy it… so that fits. Primarily, I am limited by access (money etc) to go all out into many different things I do enjoy. So I end up with the types of games that would be under the Gardener. However, I don’t have a play style like that. I play Animal Crossing and I do notice that once there’s a lack of competition or ability to gain within the game, I will lose motivation to play. So I tend to play that game more when a new month rolls around and a new string of collectibles that I haven’t collected come up. Within a month of owning the game though, I had already upgraded everything almost to the max possible. 😆 Now I barely touch that one and focus on other games. So true completion isn’t entirely a driving factor for me. For anyone curious, I am NeFi.

    Interesting… how about a “Wanderer” type? I play games usually with a focus on discovery, fantasy, and story. I love Skyrim, oblivion, subnautica, and final fantasy 6, for example. It’s like a slayer/bounty Hunter , but it’s also like a bard. A bard who goes solo 😆
    I’m an ESFP, fwiw.
    Edit: I scored as Bounty Hunter. So I think that’s probably inclusive of my wanderer idea.

    INFP- I got the bounty hunter and yeah this is deadly accurate, love games like far cry, mass effect, Skyrim and assassins creed(especially black flag cause the ship) I love to play games to max out everything in order to be the boss of the game heck I even love temple run for that reason too…love to to be a badass and an agent of chaos also🔥😎it’s why I love rock music and heavy metal🤘🎸and love exploring too. plus any opportunity to customize or create is also a huge bonus😍
    Yeah this could make sense in real life too I don’t like competing against other business, people or offenders in court, but developing myself is a huge interest with all the exploration, creativity and feeling up to par before I get to my goals. Also I love a good escape where it’s all about me, my world and freedom, other reasons I love rock and metal music. I don’t enjoy playing games to socialize but in real life I would be lying if it wasn’t empty with no one in it but still like to spend time by myself. Sort of like the point to why you develop yourself to make the world a better place or to entertain them or something at least.👍

    I‘m a bounty hunter / gardener. Seems like a contradiction but also makes sense in a way. I like games with exciting stories and fast paced action in which I can also casually explore stunning game worlds and collect stuff. Bonus points if the game has puzzles or mysteries to solve :)

  • @AnnaMidnightStar

    I'm an ENFP and got the Gladiator result. Considering I enjoy pretty much any kind of video game out there (and always have), this makes sense

  • @Kizuto_
    @Kizuto_ 3 года назад

    As an INTJ, I got BountyHunter/Architect which kind of makes a lot of sense for me because I like games like Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil, God of War, Watch Dogs, or any solo action storyline immersive with some sort of strategic decision making or planning. I also play some JRPG, or any RPG with interesting story or world, where I can relate to the characters, at least.
    Even though I got secondary type Architect, I don't really play games like civilization or any empire building whatever that focused too much on long term planning, because it takes to much time, I mostly think or plan in moderation, or when it's absolutely necessary.
    Immersion, or being an action protagonist, or an explorer are more interesting for me.
    Maybe I got the secondary Architect because I really like designing my own character, also customizing anything that I have In the world that I'm into, or maybe because of my interest in the stories and settings etc.

    Did the test, and got Skirmisher/Gladiator. Which I can agree suits me well. I've played a lot of different genres of games, if you ask me which games I played I always have to look up the list of games online, because I can't remember all of them.
    The aspects in games that I definitely enjoy are:
    - I like story driven games, but I like it more if the choices you make affect the outcome of the game, the best example would be Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Detroit: Become Human.
    - I like it when the game makes me care about other characters, something like Dragon Age: Origins, I simply loved listening to Alistair in the camp, and Legacy Of Kain.
    - Definitely love character creation, and definitely like to imagine me being in the game, the more customization options the better.
    - Love RPGs, the stats, the power, leveling, skills, especially if there is a variety. As I mentioned above Dragon Age, or games like Skyrim and Fallout.
    - Love it when I can destroy enemies because I'm overpowered or over-leveled. Loved playing some of the first Civilization series with my brother, where we would advance much faster for co-oping than the other civs. We would have nukes and fight civs that are still in the stone age.
    - Definitely like competition, but through skills, not through "mouth". And have enjoyed games like first Dota, League Of Legends, War Thunder, World Of Tanks and many others.
    - Also like games where you can co-op. Something like Divine Divinity: Original Sin, Diablo series, Warframe.
    - Definitely like puzzles and other aspects that make you think through a problem, something like Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver, Deponia, Machinarium,
    - Love it when the game allows you to be overall creative in any fashion, liked Sims just for designing the house rather than playing the game.
    - Also love strategy games like Generals or Red Alert, also Age Of Empires, Starcraft, but haven't played one in a long time.

    I got the architect this time through, which I figured I probably would. Interestingly, it had my previous scores from the test already highlighted (since I took it probably last spring or a year ago or so) and a number of my answers have evolved away from a very casual style that probably would have netted me "gardener" to a slightly more mastery/completionist focus, which seems more like how I have been historically. I am guessing the last set of scores were on stress brain just want to relax mode.

    I didn’t know this, and it’s very interesting. By watching the video, I think I am gladiator
    After completed the test : Architect & gladiator. I think it correspond me well.
    I am INTJ my favorites games are Final Fantasy X (I spend 300 hours in, to maximize skills/spherier, play blitzball) X-2, Final Fantasy XIII (the 3 games), in particular the XIII-2 with paradoxes.
    I played 7 years to Ragnarok Online, and Echo of soul since 2015 : mmorpg.
    I like when the game is never finished, when always something to do and improve, or complete.
    Because when a game is done, there is always this little disappointment/sadness. I like when it’s infinite.
    I understand now, why I really loved Final Fantasy XIII-2 with the concept of paradoxes.
    Because I was Ni Dominant, « walking paradox »
    If I was a game, it would be Final Fantasy XIII (the 3 games) I am one of the rare person to really loved this one.
    I am attracted by swords, shields and armors.

    I’m also curious about the correlation between this and MBTI. As an INFP, I think the score I got isn’t surprising, very predictable. Asura, do you think your Se & Fi functions reveal themselves more when playing video games? Maybe that’s why you got Ninja over Architect?

    • @AsuraPsych
      @AsuraPsych  3 года назад +5

      Yeah I think so. I think some INTJs are slow and method focused and some are predictive and even aggressive at times. Compare and contrast the two fictional INTJs of Walter White from Breaking Bad to Vergil from Devil May Cry. I much more relate to Vergil personally. This also relates back to the idea of enneagram and Jungian archetypes - essentially, core values. Every person of a single type can have different core values and my core value tends to be mastery and challenge so I like faster paced content that pushes my limits.

    I would call myself a Ninja / support class for as pvp player . Bard would be my subclass . When i am not doing pvp .
    I am the player that comes out of no where hitting elites from behind . " Yeee Haw ! " Like Han Solo knocking Dark Vader 's spaceship further into space . Tiger would be saying " Now, lets win this mother Fker ! " " FOR THE HORDE ! "
    I have been playing World of Warcraft since spring of 2005 . Took me at least 1 1/2 - 2 years to come up with a main character and a class . Soon as i started a hunter class . I feel in love with my Orc beast master hunter and named him Tigerfist .
    I took the name after my Orc hunter , Tigerfist . I never looked back . Tiger would be my secondary name .
    Since Marvel and DC comics are now woke . Tigerfist is my new Anti- Hero . Tiger ( Orc hunter ) can own any Marvel and DC Super Heroes ..
